AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

was your status at pending shipment before you got your tracking numbers? or was there an extra step after that?

I ordered the same thing @ almost the same time as you (~3:15 am CST) and my screen looks exactly like this!
I spoke to an order rep @ AT&T this afternoon (I realize they are not the most reliable source, especially after reading all 105+ pages of this forum post!) who said I am in the first wave of pre-orders (just like your chat rep told you) so I should get my phone within 1-2 business days of Oct 14th. So not necessarily on Friday but as long as it's not 14-21 days then I'll survive.

Ordered 16gb White iPhone at 6:30AM PST on the 7th. Order received on the 8th.

I've got a tracking number, but it also doesn't work. UPS. I don't like UPS in my neighborhood, since they throw everything right on the front lawn. And I'm having a fight with my neighbors. Suddenly wishing I had yelled at their kids after I got my iPhone.
I ordered after you by n hour give or take, white 16gb 4S. I have a traciing number, 0 under backordered, and it says it shipped.
32GB Black ordered from ATT site approx 1:40am PST on 10/7. Status now changed to to "shipped" but the UPS tracking number provided is not recognized by the UPS tracking page. DOH!
Guys, do not cancel your order. No in any defense on at&t, i've seen so many disasters happened after you cancel the order, transaction problem, and might have to wait in line for nothing etc etc. If it has to be a few days late then let it be, but i have even read a CNET editor did exactly that on iphone4 Preorder and he regret it, do not repeat what other did~

Me too but its the spouse white iphone so I suspect they will run out unless I am willing to go early and wait in line. Not really inclined to do so. I think I will wait and see if they at least ship it middle of next week. If so thats fine if not will cancel and hit up apple stores.

I ordered my 16 GB iphone 4s from At&t at 3:15 a.m. on October 7. Today, my order status changed; my phone shipped on October 9.
The tracking number provided was not pulling up any information, so I called the FedEx customer service line to get more information -- I want to make sure someone is at home when it arrives!
Despite (politely) pressing the rep, I was told that they were not able to give me any information about the package until tomorrow, when it leaves the warehouse.
I live in Dallas and had read that a few of the iphones were shipping from Fort Worth. So, as a last ditch effort, I specifically asked if the package was in FedEx's Fort Worth warehouse...he said it was.
Since it's shipping from that facility tomorrow, it looks like I will be getting my phone then!

There's a world of difference between being "a few days late" and "At least four weeks".
Thats what kills me about ATT my order was 7 am Pacific and it has been on backorder status since. It is the same model but ordered online.
So far two reps today one live chat and one on the phone has told me 21-28 days and it will shipped on 14th.
TO MAKE EVERYONE FEEL BETTER AND TO ANSWER YOUR CONCERN:
at Apple.com if you go now, today! and order your iPhone, apple promise to ship it at 1-2 weeks (if not they will have changed that to 3-4 weeks already, logically right?), so if you order today and will get in 1-2 weeks, how the hell are those good people like us order on Friday will get after 4 weeks? right?

We ship both UPS and Fedex daily (both pickup from our facility). Fedex tracking usually updates within 10 minutes of the pickup occurring. The status will show as PICKED UP. That is when the delivery estimate will update in their system. There is no way for the Fedex rep to know when the delivery date/time will be until after Fedex takes possession of the package. The label can have a ship date of 10/12 (delivery for 10/13) when it was created, but if Fedex doesn't take possession of the package until 10/13, the delivery date will automatically update to 10/14 in their tracking system.
UPS seems to be a lot slower on their tracking updates after pickup. Our pickups normally occur at 4:30PM, and they do not start tracking on their website until after 7PM (at that point the "Picked Up" status shows up with a time stamp of the actual pickup - approx 4:30PM in our case).
