AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

If you ordered from aat.com, backordered means it is prepared for shipment awaiting preorder shipment date.
Mine has just departed. Should be in the US tomorrow. Hopefully.
Oh. And I ordered mine off of Apple at 3:15am EST.

Someone speculated that AT&T was shipping from stateside warehouses, vs. Apple shipping from China. Sounds more like wishful thinking, but it could happen? Let's start a rumor...
Both of my AT&T orders no longer show backordered. They both show pending shipment.

I ordered mine at 4am on the 7th and mine still shows a status of Processing.

I just called ATT and the phone rep told me that regardless of when the iPhones were pre-ordered, all phones will not be released to be shipped until October 14th with an estimated 1 to 2 business days for delivery. =( This goes against the email I received which told me I would get my phone on the 14th.
Thats the best info gotten directly from ATT IMO, good one. Hopefully thats the case. Id be pretty bleak if someone whom ordered on Saturday got it before me..
Hrm. I waffled most of the day on Friday about getting one and finally ordered in the afternoon and got my confirmation e-mail at that time...but my order date on the website shows 10/8. Guess I'm in for the second batch.
I had to ordered one through AT&T (phone call) because it is a business phone and one for my wife through the apple page (but also AT&T contract) .... both are still not shipped (but show estimates for the 14th) ....
Maybe it has to do with the model of the phone (both my orders are white 16 GB iPhone 4S (AT&T)) if it is already shipped or not.

I had processing first, then pending shipment so....
Orders from apple.com are being shipped from China. Orders from att.com are shipping from warehouses from within the US. That's why Apple orders are already being shipped.
At lease that is that I was told.
Im right there with you. I recall it saying processing while it was on backorder and then pending shipment with the backorder gone.
My order was placed by a manager on Saturday, so even now (Monday 1:26PM EST) the tracking info does not show up at all. I just wish I had some idea when to expect it. I called AT&T and she was no help at all.

I remember when I ordered my iPhone 4 that similar things happened. There was all this positive shipping activity with the Apple-ordered phones and the AT&T orders (including mine) sat silent. Then, the AT&T orders did eventually ship and they were delivered on release day. In fact, I think it was two-day shipping with everything pretty quiet until they shipped. Then bam, delivered in two days and on time. People didn't get the AT&T iPhones early that I recall, unlike the Apple ones, but they did show up on release day as promised.
Only saying this to state that if past history is a guide we'll start hearing about things shipping Tuesday/Wednesday with delivery on Friday. We probably won't get them early, but we should get them on Friday.

They're shipping from within the US. so you will have it Friday. But I think they will ship before Thursday.
I don't know but am I the only one who feels that ATT has really fallen off their game. I would have expected this level of customer service from a prepaid company but not from ATT.
Basically, everyone who has pre-ordered from ATT has gotten a big middle finger and a response of "You'll get it when you get it".
I hear conflicting information about this ... I also hear that Apple orders are already shipping but will be on hold at the UPS/FEDEX facilities until friday morning ....
Anyway - does not matter when they ship and where they are right now ... as long as I have both phones at some point on Friday
... well, I'm still checking both orders every 15min (so maybe it matters a tiny little bit ...) ... and there is always hope that one of those 'holds' does not work.No... you'll get it when they already told you that you'll get it.. On the 14th!
