AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I pre-ordered two 16 GB iPhone 4s on Friday at around 7:30 am EDT, one white and one black, through AT&T Premier.

Both orders sent confirmation notices within a few minutes, and the status had not been updated since Saturday, October 8. Then last night I got two shipping notices. Both sent from Dallas to northeast Ohio, one via FedEx and one via UPS. Both are scheduled to arrive by 3 pm tomorrow (Friday.)

I could never check my order cause it never shows up when I go to the att site.
I did notice this morning that my $212.67 is no longer pending, but has been paid!
That means, "I'm getting a new 4s tomorrow" !!!!
 
Just wait til next year when instead of 1 million people upgrading to the 4s there are 3 million people upgrading to the 5.

I tell ya, boys.... it'll be PANDELERIUM!
 
Just got done with ATT chat, asked why my phone says backordered and she could give me no good reason. She said that phones are being shipped first come first serve basis. I ordered though att.com at 3:57AM EST Friday October 7. Got the confirmation 1 minute later that said my order when through. Phone (64gb white) went to backorder over the weekend and has not changed. she could give me no good reason on why it hadn't shipped, especially when I asked why people who ordered after me are getting theirs shipped. I am pretty furious because I have no phone since I sold mine and was assured many times it would ship and get to me on the 14th. ATT needs to come up with a correction for all the people who followed the rules and got screwed. :mad:

In other news, Fedex has my phone as "In Transit" from Fort Worth to Dallas... lists tomorrow as the delivery date, but fingers crossed... last update was that it has left the Fedex facility in Fort Worth. Probably currently en route to a smaller facility in Dallas somewhere.

I'm up in Minneapolis and my phone is scheduled to arrive from Fort Worth via Standard Overnight tomorrow. There must a be a huge lot of them there.
 
I just called AT&T and asked why my status on my phone was backordered, She told me any one that pre ordered the phone from the AT&T store needs to call the store for info, she told me that they are telling any person that ordered the phone at the store are looking at almost 30 days for delivery. :mad: The reason i am upset is the girl at the store told me i would get the phone on friday. No Problem!

Maybe store orders that were made on Fri Oct 7th before 5pm will ship out today?

Checked today and got nothing. Still back-ordered. Of course, I ordered Friday around 8PM (I hadn't found out about the whole 5:30PM fiasco), so I wan't expecting any miracles. I will probably get up early tomorrow before work and buy one outright at the store and return the preorder iPhone.

From the fiasco that was the pre-orders, I'd not go to sleep tonight and get in line around midnight or so. My buddy (coming over from Android) waited to preorder. I told him over and over again to order EARLY on Friday morning and he didn't listen. He went to Verzion store at 10am Saturday morning and they told him 14-21 days. So anyway, he told me he's just going to wait until after work on Friday, around 4pm and then "walk in and get one". Needless to say he has no clue about iphone launches. I told him if he waits until 4pm Friday, his chances are very slim. But who knows, They might have a TON for in store purchase and he MIGHT luck out. But I seriously doubt it.

I was actually considering canceling my pre-order and camping out (which ive done for every launch) if their were any problems with my order. I HATE pre-ordering just because of all the problems and chaos. I'd MUCH rather stand in line and wait. It's actually a great time. But since they offered no "pre order with in store pick up" I actually took the chance and pre-ordered through At&t at about 3:50am Friday morning. I have my tracking and all is good. I just won't feel totally comfortable until fedex shows up at my door.

I ordered two from my local AT&T store on the 7th at about 11:30 AM CST. One 16gb white, One 64gb white. I haven't seen any movement on mine either. This kinda sucks, Oh well...
 
I received my tracking number and the expected delivery date says: "Friday, 10/14/2011, By End of Day" so everything looks fine however, I just checked my checking account balance and the money for my phone has been returned. It was "processing" on my account but now there is no sign that there was any charge at all. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

I think I may be joining you at this point. My wife and I will be new customers, so I think we are going to wait in line tomorrow and open a new account in her name. Once we have our phones, we will (try to) cancel the preorder. If we can't cancel then we will just return the phones when we get them and cancel the account then.

Another Albany (actually East Greenbush) here. I ordered by phone since that was the only way to get an early upgrade. There is a pre-authorization on my credit card, but the website won't let me track it. It only shows up when AT&T checks and they give me the whole 'you can track it when it ships' line.

Ordered by phone on Saturday. 32GB White.
 
i should know this, but what is the return policy on iphones if opened? 14 days correct?

UPS also has a new service called mychoice that lets you reroute the package to a UPS Store. UPS Store's typically have an earlier delivery time than most residences.

I frequent a local UPS Store and the employees said several people have called asking about having iphones rerouted to the store.

I was just told by UPS that MyChoice holds and pre signs will not be honored for anything coming from AT&T. UPS told me AT&T is requiring a signature plain and simple and no holds or left without signature orders will be honored.

the only thing about that is nobody has went from backordered quantity 1 to shipped

meaning, we likely will not be getting it tomorrow...

and on top of that, we will be getting it within 2-3 weeks
 
I ordered my phone in store on Friday just a few minutes after 9AM. My phone is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Don't give up yet though.

Remember, the majority of the phones are being sent over night. I order stuff next day ALL THE TIME. 99% of the time I don't get tracking info / acct update / notification till sometime during the middle of the night.

Considering that my shipping label said the 10th and actual account didn't say shipped until the 12th.

It's safe to assume your phone could be boxed as well and account just not updated yet.

I feel bad because I know from following this thread that there are some who ordered on Saturday who already have tracking numbers and if they ordered on Saturday? That really means Monday as AT&T does not place weekend orders in the system until Monday. So how does a Saturday order beat a Friday order? I have no idea.

Thank God I didn't sell my iPhone 4 yet.

ok so can't use a note.. that's a start..

So can you get them to hold in at the UPS center w/o having to attempt to deliver the item for the first time?

i hope that's true.
The only shred of hope I have are the stories I from last year's iphone 4 pre-orders. People said they received their phones on launch day, and there accounts were still saying backordered quantity 1 -- AFTER they received the phone already lol

i just hope that's our case too.

but even if it is, thanks at&t for making my life hell for the past couple of days
