Another Albany (actually East Greenbush) here. I ordered by phone since that was the only way to get an early upgrade. There is a pre-authorization on my credit card, but the website won't let me track it. It only shows up when AT&T checks and they give me the whole 'you can track it when it ships' line.

Ordered by phone on Saturday. 32GB White.

Try clearing your cache and then checking the website again.
 
I received my tracking number and the expected delivery date says: "Friday, 10/14/2011, By End of Day" so everything looks fine however, I just checked my checking account balance and the money for my phone has been returned. It was "processing" on my account but now there is no sign that there was any charge at all. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

I saw the $212.08 "pending" in my online bank account the whole time til this morning.
I had talked to the att rep and she said that they do NOT charge debit cards until the order is shipped, (and it's 1st come, 1st served).

This morning I looked at my bank account and the $212.08 is no longer "pending", but has actually been paid, meaning my 4s has been shipped :)

Your "pending" money being returned to your available balance is very bad news indeed, meaning they ran outta phones and you'll get yours from the 2nd batch, 14-21 days, (hopefully). :(
 
I feel bad because I know from following this thread that there are some who ordered on Saturday who already have tracking numbers and if they ordered on Saturday? That really means Monday as AT&T does not place weekend orders in the system until Monday. So how does a Saturday order beat a Friday order? I have no idea.

Thank God I didn't sell my iPhone 4 yet.

Couldn't agree more. When I saw that people with orders on 10/8 had tracking numbers it infuriated me haha. I still have nothing but a backordered status.
 
I spent the majority of yesterday talking with different ATT reps, including the supervisor.

One thing I did hear is that nobody is getting the phone on Friday. They are shipping the phones Friday, and will take 5-7 days. That is the best they can do. This applies to all who placed their order before 5 pm Eastern on 10/7. Anybody after 5pm will have to wait 21-28 days. They can cancel if they want.

After digging thru hundreds of pages on this thread, I have not come across anybody else hearing what I heard from multiple different reps. Can anybody verify this, or hopefully squash the legitmacy of this claim?

FYI, I ordered at 11am Friday 10/7 on the phone. Did not get the Terms/Conditions until Tuesday, which I signed immediately. I was assured by ATT that they are basing the shipments on when we placed the order, not when we signed the Terms/Conditions, and that I am part of the first group of shipments because it was ordered before 5pm on Friday.

When I log in with my order number, it still says "Qty Backordered=1". The rep said that is because I ordered on the phone, so my tracking number is not listed. However, it "should" be waiting for pickup . I never got a guarentee even though I pressed for one, but they said they should be shipping it out tomoorow, which means I get it next week.


Sorry for the long post, but can anybody offer some input?
 
Tracking confirmed

I pre-ordered by calling corporate support with a premier account on the 7th around 11AM EST. Got my tracking number yesterday and this morning it changed to delivery expected by 3pm tomorrow.
 
Anyone had the full charge hit their checking account/credit card account yet? I thought they were going to debit once the item has been shipped. Myself, like many, had the wrong shipping address on my account, but had it changed on the 8th and they said everything was fine. I called AT&T today and they said everything was fine, but I called FedEx and they said it's going to my old address - which is fine, it's only a few blocks away. I just want to make sure they don't cancel my order since I've talked to 5 different CSR's and they said that it will still ship, just can't change the shipping address - which is fine by me.

I received my tracking info via FedEx, but it's just stating initiated and hasn't moved/updated yet today.
 
I ordered mine at 9pm on the 7th and my phone is now sitting in KY...:)

no offense i am very happy that you are getting your phone but how the hell and you ordered at 9 pm. i ordered at freaking 5 am EST, and received processing email 10 mins later.

I am a little concerned however, I didn't get charged yet?? Anyone else have a shipped phone and no charge? I haven't even had a hold or $1 charge... none the less, it's definitely on it's way I guess.

My order has shipped. I have a tracking number and it shows it left Texas and will be delivered by EOD tomorrow. My credit card no longer has a pending charge and the actual charge for the phone has not hit my card. Maybe it'll be free? LOL! ;) :D
 
Woke up and my Fedex tracking number is live as of around 4:30 this morning. It doesn't say the location, but I know from talking to Fedex CSRs last night that the package is in Fort Worth... shipping overnight, expected tomorrow by 3 pm.

I'm still hoping that they release everything for delivery today (moving the whole process along) and that I get my package routed to me today, since I'm less than 20 miles from the warehouse.



Did it go to Memphis like mine's did??

I'm not sure this is true, I personally haven't even seen a pending charge or authorization on my card, however using fedex tracking my phone is well on it's way to being delivered tomorrow.

I think there is one thing everyone in this forum can agree on it's that AT&T isn't consistent in anything they do. They are almost as uninformed as we are on this entire thing.

If you're the only one that heard this then there already is no legitimacy to it (only person out of a lot of posts) Also, the at&t website says that all pre-orders will ship on or around today. And multiple sources have confirmed overnight shipping by air which means many people will receive it today or tomorrow. I ordered mine in stores at 9:30 AM on Friday and even though I don't have a tracking number, I'm hopeful that I'll get it soon considering that the fedex and at&t are having trouble with tracking numbers etc.
 
Not according to them. They said neither a note nor a hold would be honored at the request of AT&T. They would hold but only AFTER an initial attempt. Most UPS centers aren't open on Saturdays which is a massive bummer. I am trying to get more information from a supervisor.

guess next question is could be possible to pick it up after the truck come back on Friday night. They have re-pack the truck that night for delivery on Saturday.

I was told by an ATT Supervisor that because of a glitch, thousands of "re-acceptence" e-mails were turned away and without the acceptence e-mail, the system would cancel the order and return any funds if collected, and the reserved phones would simply go to the next folks in line. Hope this clears up some of this mystery that att has bestowed on us all.

I ordered my White 64GB at 1:15am on the 7th using AT&T's site. I got my UPS tracking number yesterday morning. Last I checked it just arrived at UPS's Louisville facility and it is listed as next day air. I'm expecting to get it some time tomorrow. I didn't get a terms & conditions e-mail, but I didn't use Premier. I don't even remember if I had to click through one on their site when I preordered. I was tired.

If you read this discussion, you'd see there are TONS of us with tracking info and e-mails that confirm we will receive our phones by the EOD tomorrow. We can see from our shipping carriers where our phones are, and that they will in fact be delivered tomorrow. Are you sure you mean "before" 5 pm? I think maybe you mean AFTER 5 p.m. I ordered at 5:15 a.m. and I am getting mine tomorrow - for sure!

The only thing we know for sure is that anything and everything an AT&T rep says should be taken with a grain of salt. They rarely have any idea about what they are talking about.

There are many people, including me, who have tracking numbers with delivery scheduled for tomorrow.

That's because more than likely it may not have shipped yet. Once it does your tracking number should work.

It should be based on when you placed your order.....not when you signed Terms and Conditions. When I log in to "ORder Status" on att.com, it says Date Ordered: 10/11/2011 , QTY Backordered: 1.....

The rep said to disregard that, and that they are basing it when I actually placed the order which is 10/7.

Hopefully she is right, although I am still very worried that the incompetent CR reps are just trying to ease my worries with these blank promises

Wrong, don't worry banks only let holds stay a few days, you will be charged again soon after shipping, thats what happened to me with the 3gs.
