yea great, cept i gave ATT the right addresses, they had it in their follow up emails, yet somehow it's now getting shipped to original incorrect addys.

You probably made the change too late and the shipping label was already printed at that time. Once the label is printed it doesn't matter if you changed it in the system. System will tell you one thing but it already printed the old one.
 
On 10/7, times EDT:
o 04:55am ordered 64gb black (Mine!) from ATT. Order confirmed via email, delivers 10/14.
o 11:57am ordered 16gb black (grandson's) from ATT, [perfectly valid] card not accepted, used another, order confirmed, not backordered, now in Ft. Worth. Good.
o 01:48 64gb (Mine!) needs attention email, called told that some credit companies were rejecting early am orders, used another credit card, confirmed, told "This will not change your place in line."

At 11:10, mine is still listed as Pending / Backordered. Can anyone reassure me? Thanks!

Similar situation here, the rep canceled my original order and created an EXTP order. Mine is listed as backordered till now.

I ordered another one for my roommate right after the one above, the payment went through with no issue, and his phone is shipped yesterday.

I think if your order number has changed, then you lost your place in line.

I have NEVER in all my years, ordered something online and had to "wonder" if I was actually going to get my purchase, (att's process flat out sucks, and it needs to change) :mad:

All I know is that I will be getting my 4s tomorrow, and I hope everyone else here does as well. The amount of bs/uncertainty att has put us ALL through is absolutley unacceptable, total crapola !!!

You really don't have to "wonder". If you purchased a phone from AT&T, you'll get a phone from AT&T. The question is when. AT&T relies on Apple to give them the phones in a timely manner so the orders can be fulfilled. If Apple doesn't give enough stock, then AT&T won't be able to fulfill your order first day.

You really think AT&T has people's phones but they'll rather let them "wonder" when they'll get it? :rolleyes:
 
I ordered about 3am CST on AT&T's website
16gb White iphone 4s

Mine is now in transit from Ft. Worth to Nashville via Fedex. I'm a little upset that it's coming Fedex because I really prefer the delivery times and service of UPS in my neighborhood but I guess it's all ok if I get it tomorrow like they say.

The thing that makes me angry is that AT&T would not let me change my shipping address. They said it was a security issue and that the phone had to ship to my billing address. I told them that it was a security issue for me to have the phone shipped there because if it was left it could be stolen as I live in one of those gentrifying/urban renewal areas. They told me to leave the signed note on the door telling Fedex to leave it behind a bush!!!And I told them that was even worse because if I did that and someone saw it they would know it was an important/expensive delivery if it required being hidden. They could not tell me if the phone needed to be signed for or not but it's a lose/lose for me either way.

To give a little credit, the first CSR I talked to really wanted to help me and understood my concerns. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone as he exhausted all the channels to get it done. After this he offered to transfer me to someone higher up who, he said, may be able to help. The woman just said "can't be done - no way no how - not for anyone" and hung up.
 
UPS told me twice that ALL alternate delivery options (holds, redirects, notes, pickup after initial delivery, MyChoice, etc...) were null. AT&T specifically told UPS NOT to honor them for any reason. You may have some trouble if UPS is following the rules. She told me they even told UPS that no changes to delivery were approved even if they came from AT&T. This is information that is current as of 30 minutes ago. If UPS doesn't follow the request by AT&T you may be able to pick it up. But I am certain that will be the exception and definitely not the rule.
That's fine and I am that exception because my address is an exception.

Because my address is in that special category (do not leave package), that I will be able to pick it up at a hub. I just confirmed with my tracking number and verified my identity and was told the same thing.

It's a phone, not a liver.

I have no idea what bs/uncertainty you have been put through, but I pre-ordered and was expecting delivery of my phone tomorrow...and that is exactly what is going to happen. Getting delivery when promised is acceptable to me.

The problem comes when people have a week to get paranoid and stress out about it...If people don't get the phone tomorrow, or Saturday, or Monday then you can start complaining. They haven't even been delivered yet. Geeze. Have a seat and eat some chocolate.
 
In the end we will all remember this process as a fiasco even though we got our phones because of the poor quality of AT&Ts order tracking system. Hopefully this kicks off an IT project there before the iPhone 5 launch next year.
In the end I will remember AT&T as the stellar service oriented company they are.

Process was perfect for me. Ordered just after it went live on Friday morning, received confirmation email, and then later received shipping email.

Actually, all to easy...
 
FYI... i am still a few posts behind in this thread... But I am checkin progress on my shipment at: http://www.packagemapping.com and at UPS... packagemapping is ahead by 1 stop of UPS...

Still looks like I dont get it till Fri morning, but might be useful to others to look at both sites

Edit: Mine has gone from Memphis to Louisville... wrong direction as it needs to get to Dallas.

I think it's more like 90% have tracking.

The "wondering/hoping" people are the minority.
 
I am NOT wrong.
This is what the Supervisor told me on Monday, and it worked exactly as she said it would, the funds would stay "pending" on all debit card purchases until the phone actually ships.

Ok, so then I must be receiving an empty box then. :rolleyes: The pre-authorization disappeared from mine and it's currently halfway here. No new charge as of yet but I suspect they will charge me once their system catches up.
 
Anybody order in-store Friday morning, and get shipping info yet? Mine still says 1 backordered... What's the point of pre-ordering something, and not getting it the day of release?!

I have had the same issue also. I ordered by phone on Saturday. Credit card have a pre-authorization, but AT&T's website won't let me track it!:confused:

Same here, seems like from reading this blog no one who ordered in an actual store has received any kind of update yet. My bank account hasn't shown anything either. who knows

There seems to be no organazation to the way AT&T operates. Some people who placed the orders long after got tracking info, some people who placed the orders at 5am have nothing. Its a freaking crap shoot!

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but I find the following Yahoo sites helpful for tracking UPS and FedEx shipments. They tend to provide more detail and sometimes more up to date information:

As you can see, for me, the Yahoo site has more up to date info. Instead of my iPhone 4S in transit to a Memphis UPS facility, it's actually in Louisville.
