He's not trolling I have a tracking # from UPS as well. There are numerous threads about how to get it by using your order # and email address though the UPS site.

Those are for orders via Apple...I haven't seen anyone get the trick to work with an order that was placed on AT&T's website.

I ordered via AT&T @ 5:30AM EST on the 7th and I can't find any tracking info on UPS or FedEx

I just spent the last half hour on the phone with Premier, then the escalations department. They found a manager in the fulfillment department who gave me the following information. He says it's from a memo that was just released in the last hour.

If your order was placed:
Before 4PM EST on Oct 7, Delivery starting on Oct 14
Between 4pm EST Oct 7 to 12AM EST Oct 8th, Delivery in 14-21 days
After 12am EST on Oct 8th, Delivery in 21-28 days
 
Interesting, I have the same. When I login to my acct it says "Processing" and shows backordered. :confused:

Try going to the other order status page and see what it says there. There are two places to check your order. On your my account screen and then via the link in your ATT email.
 
I keep hearing about these confirmation email from last Friday. I never got a single email from AT&T regarding my pre-order. Can anyone shed some light as to what was in that email?

...Really? They went through their entire supply in a single hour (for most of which their site wasn't working)? I find that somewhat unlikely.
 
Still "Pre-Ordered"

I ordered my phone through AT&T on Friday morning at 6:30am and my status is still "Pre-Ordered." I am a Premier customer so I guess I get less shipping information?

Updated: On Friday I spoke to AT&T customer service and called one of their corporate stores and they all told me that the phone were shipping on the 14th not being delivered on the 14th. I don't know if I believe them but that is what I was told. I called Apple to compare what would have happened if I had ordered through Apple instead of AT&T and it seems that I should have gone through Apple.

I ordered mine on October 7th, got the confirmation email from premier at 2:19pm EST, but when I check my order status it says it was ordered on October 9th and it still has the "backordered" status. Think I'm out of luck for the 14th delivery date? :(

I don't have the activation number or that link to activation. Should I contact customer support about getting it resent so I can have all of that information? Is that even a possibility?

I'm honestly not sure what was included in the normal AT&T confirmation emails...my email was from AT&T premier and that link leads you to the premier order status.

You can try www.wireless.att.com/order_status using your phone # and billing zip code to see if that pulls up your order
 
Not sure. He was very specific that orders prior to 4PM EST on the 7th would arrive "beginning on the 14th" meaning some of those orders will arrive in the days following.

What did it say before 'pending shipment'?

Mine has said pending shipment all along.
 
Ordered thru premier at 5:43am on 10/7. Confirmation email came about 1 min later saying it was reserved and expected to be delivered by 10/14. I don't know what the hell went on with a perfectly fine credit card. Chase visa kept denying AT&T. Got it resolved on Saturday by switching to debit card. At&t status says pending shipment. 866.499.8008 says order has been processed and will be shipped shortly. Who knows.

I hope to get it this week but I'm pretty sure I won't die if it doesn't show up Friday :D

I am actually more excited about potentially jailbreaking my iPad 2 on IOS 5 followed up by my new iPhone 4s,
 
That's not what he did. He said he ordered on the AT&T site and got an email from AT&T with a tracking number.

All the threads about people getting tracking numbers have been ordered through the Apple site.

Yeah, I called out a couple times but dont believe that he has a tracking info. May be he is confusing it with the Confirmation/Activation # - if not, trolling!

I'm a premier customer, too. Which is why I'm scratching my head why I didn't get that email. I got the email to tell me I updated some information in my profile. Who knows.

Same here, I figure I'm probably out of luck for the 14th. Oh well.
 
I placed an order for an upgrade to an existing line on my account for an iPhone 4S:

Date: 10/07/11
Time: 5:30AM CDT

I checked my order status today and received this message:

OS001: We apologize for the inconvenience. We cannot complete your request at this time. Please wait at least 24 hrs from placing your order, before checking the status of your order online. If the problem persists, please call us at 1-888-333-6651 for further assistance. NOTE: An email may have been sent to your email address on file. Please check your email which may have additional information about your order.

I called 5x to customer service and got 5 different stories as to why my order number isn't in their system. One story was that "Because Apple does not accept debit cards you will be not able to order the phone through them or AT&T." What? I've used my VISA debit card to purchase 1000's of dollars Apple products in an Apple store and on the Apple website. Regardless, she stuck to her lame story.

The last operator I spoke to informed me that they are aware of an issue with all orders that begin with 1401xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, SHe informed me also there will be an email sent out to all customers with an order number beginning with 1401 explaining the delay. How long of a delay? Of course, no answer provided. This could be pure 'put the customer off and tell them anything to ge them off the phone', but my credit card has a $1.00 hold on it at this moment by AT&T and my order is MIA.

I'm in AT&T HELL.
