HI All,

Just spoke to a Sr Mgr. at ATT about the delays for in-store pre-order.

1) Pre-Orders made INSTORE at ATT will be shipped in 2-3 weeks.
2) In-store preorders are considered automatically assigned for backordering
3) Online pre-orders are treated differently than In-Store Pre-orders in that they are higher priority.
4) AT&T is treating all in-store pre orders (made on 7th) as back orders & using their iPhone4S inventory for walk-ins tomorrow.

I Give Up. Had I known this, I would have ordered online. Never Ordering Anything from ATT inshore ever again !!

where do you go to chat with somebody?

I think chat is only available on the Premier site...I have access, but it's worthless...the people are great, but they aren't given adequate information.

People end up yelling at them, it's stressful work.
 
You left out the part of the email where there was an asterisk next to "Your order is expected to be delivered on 10/14/11*."

Which then, if you follow it down the email to: "*All orders are processed on a first come, first served basis. Your shipment may be subject to delays for reasons that include, but are not limited to, product availability, inventory, credit issues, and completion of other required AT&T business processes. Items in your cart will be held until all items in your order can be sent in one shipment. Next day or Saturday delivery not available in all areas. Sunday delivery not available."

I don't doubt that asterisk should apply - but that's not in my e-mail. at all. no asterisk. Here's the full text - although i will say the backorder statement kinda covers that, i only ordered one thing, so who knows.

I'm going to the local store and raise hell tomorrow. i suggest you who are in this position do the same. We were duped. if you went online, you got right in cue. If you took the time to go to the store and go face to face, you got screwed. They need to be told how ********* up this is! And if a few other customers here it, so much the better! I'm going to see if I raise enough hell, maybe one of there "in store" phones will magically appear in my hands.
 
Wow AT&T Wow

So basically I order my phone on friday at 9:30 am got a confirmation email and saw the dollar come out of my acct then reversed which I know is all normal. Waited 3 days for the status on the order to change from received to pre-order. Called Tuesday they said wait 24 hours because they could't find my order even though I had an order number. After 6 different phone calls and being hung up on 3 times I get someone that says they are going to escalate the problem and got me to someone that spoke english " a premiere support specialist or something. This guy tells me that somehow my order got lost in the system and that I could either reinstate my order and wait the 21 to 28 day waiting period or cancel my order and go wait in line tomorrow morning. How wonderful is that. I know its not the end of the world but damn it took 6 days to get someone to just say "the system screwed you."
 
I'm about to lose it with ATT...ordered at 6am on the 7th via Premier website. Got a confirmation email at 6:45am. Everything was fine. Got an email yesterday saying I'd have it on the 14th. I checked it earlier and said backordered. So I called over and after 2 hours (not even kidding) someone said that I ordered on the 8th. I explained I had an email confirmation on the 7th but they dont care. I finally talked to someone who "guaranteed" that I'd have it by tomorrow.

Still no shipment so I called back. Got hung up on twice when I asked for a supervisor. Now have been sitting on hold for 20 minutes to speak to anyone (not even a supervisor).

Has anyone had their order date changed by ATT? I have no idea how this could have happened.

Haha, what a coincidence. I'm also ATT Premier and ordered at that time, and received a confirmation email exactly at that time. I too received that email yesterday and my order status has not been marked shipped. However, in my case, if you look at the order status, it hasn't been updated since October 8. I am just going to hope it comes in tomorrow! :rolleyes:
 
I don't believe UPS will try delivering on Saturday.

I don't believe they try delivering ANY day. My UPS guy's idea of trying to deliver is knocking as softly as possible and then running back to the truck as fast as he can. I swear to God, if I'm not sitting there by the front window watching for the truck, I might as well not be home.
 
I am talking to a rep online right now, and here is how it's going...:

"Me: I ordered my iPhone 4s on Friday morning at 10 am in the store
Can I get an update on the status for it?
James Floyd: If you ordered in the store, I don't believe I'll be able to see that order, but as far as I know, any orders placed on Friday will be in the store tomorrow.
What's your mobile number, I'll happily take a look for the order though.
Me: 206-***-****
So what you are saying, I can come in the store tomorrow, and pick up the phone?
James Floyd: Yes sir, you should be able to. I can see your order, but since it's probably tied to a massive store order, I can't see any details on it."

I hope I could just walk in then!

I apologize. The same sentence was in my email WITH an asterisk... guess its the lesson we all need to learn... don't jump to conclusions!!

False. I preordered in a store on 10/7. I have a tracking number and will have my phone tomorrow.
 
I ordered a white 64GB at 12:32pm EST on the 7th and my order status just changed to Shipped with a UPS tracking number. The tracking number has no data yet on the UPS site.

Hey guys,

Been following this for a while now and decided to sign up and make my first post. Anyway, I ordered my 16gb white on friday 7:30 Est from a AT&T store. It has been on backorder this whole time and I've been freaking out cause my old phone is now gone in anticipation of getting a new one tomorrow. So, after reading this for a while I decided to call up the store and cancel my preorder and just take my chances waiting in line tonight. After talking with the rep and getting everything cancelled, I was told that any orders in the store after about 2pm EST would not be arriving for 1-2 weeks. He also said that they would have " a little over 100 phones available tomorrow. at least thats all I'm aloud to say. but yeah probably a lot more then that."

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. But just reinforces what most people think, AT&T is putting most preorders on backorder and saving the in store phones for people waiting in line. Just so they can maximize sales. Oh well guess ill be waiting in line tonight. Goodluck guys.
