AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Exactly the same with me. what is the deal with att? Will it ever show up.

Well our phones coming to Minneapolis now show a departure from Indianapolis via FedEx at 1739 CDT. Since the only FedEx airplane departures anywhere around that time are to the West and East Coasts, I guess the flying portion of our phones' tour is over and now they are onto the bus portion.

I meant that it would leave the facility tomorrow morning, not that I would have it in the morning. I work 6:30-3 tomorrow anyway so even if it shows up at 7 it makes no difference to me.

Yes, deliver by 3. But the truck leaves the facility in the morning, presumably.
 
Anyone still show backordered?

I have an order for a 16 GB White that was placed around 9 AM PST, and it still shows 1 under QTY_BACKORDERED =(.

I decided to chat online to see what was going on:

Online Rep: All orders placed on 10/7 prior to 5:30PM have an expected delivery date of 10/14. Devices are shipped on a first come, first serve basis and will begin to arrive on 10/14. However, the actual delivery date depends on when the pre-order is placed, when you accepted the pre-shipment terms and conditions and available inventory. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

you: do you know the status of this particular order?
you: this order was placed 10/7 9 AM pst

Online Rep: I understand this must be very frustrating. At this time due to high volume of orders, your order is on back order. I can assure you we are working to have your device shipped as soon as possible. The device will be shipped within 21-28 days.

I hope that the rep was wrong. Sucks that the cutoff was met, but it's still backordered.

it is actually on the UPS site, track by reference instead of number and then select mail innovations (package and freight are the other choices). I have been trying to do a screen print but not pasting in here. Don't do it very often anymore and forget the steps.

Oh and try a couple of times. It every once in awhile bugs out and says it can't find it, but I refresh and it shows up again (guessing it is swamped)

Followup from the AT&T rep I purchased from:

"With preorder you have a huge advantage of not standing in a line that will begin outside our doors tonight. It will be an absolute zoo tomorrow and we cannot guarantee that we will have enough stock for all customers. Last year we sold out before 10am and we hadn’t reached the end of the line. The other part was that we don’t get reinforced with stock until November (most likely) in which case you’d probably have to order from apple and with a longer wait time. I do know that most people on preorder opening day have received notice that their iPhone’s will be shipped before those dates. Though I cannot promise that it will come before then, I can promise that the 14-21 days is the ABSOLUTE latest. I can understand the confusion and frustration but I truly believe you did it the right way."

What a load of BS. i should've just ordered from Apple. Lesson learned.

did you order online? I ordered online 10/7 at 8:15am CST and I'm still backordered as well. sucks for sure.

I know I shouldn't expect my phone for a couple weeks, but I remember the employee I ordered it from said that the credit card wouldn't be billed until the phone shipped, or something similar to that. I checked my order status online and the item status still says processing and shipment status backordered, but in the billing info it says that the last time the account was billed was on the 10th, which seems like the date when most phones shipped. And it was definitely the phone that was billed.

Is there any chance I might get it tomorrow or before the 1-2 week shipping wait? I'm fully prepared to wait, but it would be a nice surprise.

Im with ya on this one. I ordered on the 8th from the online apple store. So far, mine just says "processing" eben though my card has been charged since monday....
Been waiting for some kind of light to be shed on the situation but alas, nothing. Im really hoping somone here will be like "Oh heyyyy, im in that same situation and this is what happened..."
 
I ordered my 16gb 4s at 1:45pm eastern time, and it still have a 1 back order quantity. I saw on here many people are saying 4pm, 5pm and 530pm cutoff times. Yet i ordered before that. So i just called ATT and the rep says many orders will say back ordered because it is a pre order, and it is a 1st come 1st serve basis. She also said many orders may not get shipped til late tonight or early in the morning, and that she couldn't let me know if i would or wouldn't get it tomorrow.

i guess ill have to what til tomorrow morning and see what happens
 
Woohoo!... My 4s is 40 miles away in Memphis, TN....

Ordered early a.m. on the 7th.

ATT showed I ordered on the 10th.

Overnight last night my checking account was credited $320.89.. I've still not been charged a dime for my order.

Phone was back ordered as of this morning.

Back order column went to 0 around 2pm today.

UPS tracking number appeared around 4:30.

Tracking number just resolved that my phone is sitting in Memphis and will be delivered tomorrow.

UPS always runs to my house around 9am.

Are you sure the charge isn't just pending? That's what happened to me, my order has shipped but the charge hasn't actually gone through yet...

If you can imagine it, it's happened (except for early arrivals). Status changes from backordered to shipped, orders cancelled without notice, perpetual "processing" statuses, etc., etc. Nobody's experience on here seems to be at all indicative of what will happen with anyone else in the same circumstances, which is, I think, why we're at 4200+ posts and many people are very frustrated.

I was told the same thing yesterday when I called ATT.
 
Mine just left Louisville, KY at 6pm EST. UPS still shows:

Scheduled Delivery: Friday, 10/14/2011, By End of Day

w00t.

Yep, the only two things on my tracker were
1) 6:00am Picked up, Fort Worth, TX
2) 3:31pm In transit, Memphis, TN

My bf's tracker says:
1) 6:00am Picked up, Fort Worth, TX
2) 8:13am Arrived at FedEx Location, Memphis, TN
3) 3:31pm In transit, Memphis, TN

So I'm guessing "in transit" means it left the memphis facility.
