Yes, load of dung there
He's trying to tell you how lucky you are to be back ordered for a week or two or three because you took the time to go to the AT&T store to pre-order. You and I would probably have your new iphone tomorrow if we had just stayed home and ordered either online or via phone from any of the carriers or Apple.
Followup from the AT&T rep I purchased from:
"With preorder you have a huge advantage of not standing in a line that will begin outside our doors tonight. It will be an absolute zoo tomorrow and we cannot guarantee that we will have enough stock for all customers. Last year we sold out before 10am and we hadnt reached the end of the line. The other part was that we dont get reinforced with stock until November (most likely) in which case youd probably have to order from apple and with a longer wait time. I do know that most people on preorder opening day have received notice that their iPhones will be shipped before those dates. Though I cannot promise that it will come before then, I can promise that the 14-21 days is the ABSOLUTE latest. I can understand the confusion and frustration but I truly believe you did it the right way."
What a load of BS. i should've just ordered from Apple. Lesson learned.
