Same boat

I've read of a few of you this afternoon that ordered online through Premier whose Order Statuses still said back-ordered. Is this still the case?

I ordered a black 32g online from the Premier site at 7:45am EST on 10/7. I got the confirmation email at 8:06am 10/7 stating I should get my phone 10/14. The Premier website order status lists my order as having been placed on 10/7, but hasn't been updated since 10/8 and still just says pre-order. The myATT order status lists 10/8 as my order date, and also still says Processing and that it's back-ordered. Using Track by Reference on UPS and FedEx brings back nothing. I did have a pre-auth for the full amount on my credit card, but that has now disappeared. I called AT&T tonight to see what they would say... I just got the automated Order Status line, but they didn't have my order number. ???? Not sure if I should leave work tomorrow to be here for delivery or not! This has been quite frustrating.

Oh, and on top of it, the Premier site lists my old address (I moved almost 8 years ago), while the regular AT&T site has my current address. I don't even know what home the phone is going to show up at!! Luckily, I'm friends with the people who live in the old place.

ARGH!!!


I'm in the exact same boat, I ordered the exact same time (but in MST) but ordered the same phone and my status is the exact same. I have to say that AT&T is really going to have some angry customers if we don't get our phone tomorrow. AT&T acts like this is their first time selling a popular phone.
 
You ordered SATURDAY NIGHT and getting it? I would go buy some lotto tickets because you're fricken lucky. :eek:

Yea man. Not sure how this happened. It was my backup to Best Buy when they told me my pre-order wasnt really a pre-order. Turns out they changed their policy back. But as it really turns out I got a call from BB today and they don't have my phone. Said they didnt get ANY white phones. So my backup came through in a big way. I wish all of you luck here. I hope everyones phones arrive tomorrow.
 
Anyone else get a phone call from Best Buy saying that they don't have the iPhones in stock yet ready for tomorrow's launch??? I just got a call here in California saying that they don't have any of the white or black iPhone 4s 64GB and that I will get a call from them tomorrow or Saturday if they get them in stock. I ordered both black and white in 64GB for ATT so I'm kind of bummed out

Yup I did. They told me they got ZERO white phones and they will call me tomorrow if some come in. I'll hold my breath. :rolleyes:
 
Southern Californians...the UPS DC-10 just unloaded at Ontario, CA at 6:54 PM. I guess the big rigs will be heading out to the various hubs as soon as they are loaded. :D:D:D
 
my UPS just got updated with "Destination Scan"...WOO HOO!

at 8:44pm it said destination scan here in Portland, OR. So that's the step before "Out for Delivery", so I'm hoping I have it before noon!

I preordered Friday morning over the phone with AT&T at like 11:00am LA time. Received the terms e-mail the next day. Couldn't track my package at all the entire time and made countless calls to AT&T and all they could tell me was that it was "in progress". Finally today at about 5:30PM I got an e-mail saying my package was sent and the tracking number said it was gonna be delivered on launch day.

End of the story is, AT&T's system is real backed up and if you got your preorders in by 5:30PM you'll get your phone.

Same here! Got my tracking 1 hour ago. Til then, there was absolutely no status. It was on back order the entire time

Good idea, but no luck for me.

FINALLY got answers about my order... from FedEx, not ATT. ATT shows no existence of my order unless I call them and then I just get "in progress." BUT, I called FedEx directly and got a nice guy named Charlie who did a general search for my address: package on its way scheduled for delivery before 10:30AM tomorrow. YES!!

This is a way to check, for all those who don't have a tracking number yet but who did order before the cutoff time (and maybe even those who didn't). It took literally a minute to do.

Thank god. ATT's systems suck but the actuall physical logistics were pulled off and it's going to be on that beautiful FedEx truck before the dew is completely dry on the ground.

Try this, those desperate ones without information: call FedEx at 1.800.463.3339 and ask the automated system for "Operator" and have them do a general search for your delivery address. The operator was able to find my shipment and tell me when it was scheduled for deliver.

Back story on my order: ordered at 9AM EST over the phone on the 7th. Had to do it over the phone as I ordered an unsubsidized option, which wasn't available online (otherwise I would've gladly ordered through Apple). Got my confirmation email a nice 9 hours later at 6:17PM and nothing since. Only info I was ever able to get was through CSRs on the phone, no automated systems showed my order as even existing. Oh, by the way, I ordered a black iPhone, but it is showing as a white one... no big harm done because I think they both look nice, but I might miss the understated look of the black even though the white is beautiful.


Your idea gave me a ray of hope and FedEx CS was very nice but there was no package info for my address. Grrr....

Ahh, sorry to get your hopes up. I do hope that everyone gets theirs tomorrow that ordered in time at least. I know I was thinking of heading to the Apple Store tonight if I didn't finally find something out. Next time, I'll be ordering with Apple (which wasn't possible this time), as the EXPERIENCE is much less stressful, even if the end is the same.

Yup, it seems like Apple was the correct answer. I know know what I was thinking trying to use AT&T's stupid Upgrader App. Thanks for the positive mentions or "pos-mens."

Looks like our experiences vary greatly. I ordered my 4 last year from AT&T (online). Same for my wife's 4S this time. Both pre-orders went very smoothly. Funny how I was forced to use AT&T last year because the Apple site was just not accessible...

The 4S is now at the UPS facility about 15 miles from home.
 
Didn't feel like creating a new thread. Very new to this iPhone craze. Getting my first one with the 4S. I'm eligible for an upgrade, and on the AT&T site when preordering it says I can get 2GB for $20.75 instead of $25 a month, but the Apple store is the flat $25 rate.

Is this anything special, or something that might go away soon? I'm just curious if AT&T is the best route to go to get one. I'm not really in a rush (I'm assuming all stores will sell out early tomorrow).
 
I've had no change since Saturday.
- Ordered ONLINE 10/7 1:00 pm CT (well within the cutoff)
- iP4S BLK 32
- Received initial confirmation email with "delivery on 10/14"
- No further emails since
- CC shows pending charge since 10/8
- MyATT Status: In Progress / 1 backordered / Date ordered: 10/8
- ATT Premier Status: Pre-Order / Date ordered: 10/7 / Updated: 10/8

I'm starting to wonder if it's PREMIER that hosed things up, showing an update the next day, meaning the order wasn't actually placed until it was transferred to PREMIER on Saturday, even though all order info says I ordered on 10/7. Thus, iPhones were not reserved for Premier orders and by the time they processed on 10/8, none were left.

Has anyone with PREMIER that ordered ONLINE noon/afternoon (or anytime on Friday) received shipping notification?

I'm also confused by some that posted about TOS agreement email, were those for new customers?

UGH! This is so frustrating!

I ordered premiere at about 7:30 pm EST on Friday and mine was shipped, no problems whatsoever. People are still getting shipment notifications and probably will continue to do so even after they receive their phone. I've had that happen numerous times with ordering things (especially around Christmas from Amazon.com - things like that)
 
Mine says UPS Next Day Air but then says: Scheduled Delivery Updated to: Friday, 10/14/2011, by end of day. It said this all day except for the "update to."

This will be 3rd iPhone and along with my wife, our fifth online AT&T order for iPhones. The email communication has always been sketchy, so I can't rule anything out, but i'm not looking forward to my stay in the world of backorder.

10/7 10:30 a.m. Premier online order discounted upgrade from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S Black 64GB. Hold was placed on credit card on 10/9 and released this morning. No change has been made to my status on the website at any time. Contract has been extended two years from this past Monday though.

AT&T Wireless customer since 2003. So maybe they assume I like the abuse.
