AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I'm not feeling too hopeful about my order, still hasn't changed to shipped, no tracking info or anything, and it looks like the charge they made to my card was reversed, so yeah, not looking good for delivery today.
I have the luxury of working at home today just in case, but I'm doubtful it will arrive, and if it doesn't, I'll just wait -- days, weeks, who knows -- and miss the package, have to go through heck picking it up from a post office or UPS hub or FedEx hub or whatever. *sigh*
Never again will I order through AT&T directly, this is a joke.
I ordered about 8am Eastern last Friday, and I was given an order number, was told via email that my order should arrive on the 14th, and then nothing else through now.

In a strange turn of events, I have my tracking number, with delivery today, and it seems that the money in my bank account (I paid with a debit card) has been returned to me, after it was charged days ago. Seems odd. I fully expect for it to come out of the account again today, BUT, we shall see.
How many people ordered a 64 GB in-store?
I ordered mine 10/7 at 9:20 AM, and i'm still backordered.
Genuinely worried that I wont get it. I already sold my phone.
Not to mention, the charge is removed from my statement.
I really hope they didn't slip all the in-store orders under the rug. That's not even fair.
I pray for a surprise on my doorstep tomorrow.

Tracking UPS was going perfect until 9pm last night. My husband's phone is on truck for delivery while mine never departed the previous city to our local facility. Looks like mine is lost. It even shows on website "two packages in order". I'm so not happy. This isn't like the other typical no package movement on this thread because my husband's tracking kept progressing while mine stopped.
I'm the one who saved for MONTHS to buy them and I'm the one who got up at 4am to order them. I'm so mad.

Take a nap I bet a billion u will have tracking number by 6:00 am this a good sign.. Relax,what more likely happened than getting lost is it missed being scanned.

Out for delivery simply means it is physically loaded on a truck, they just loaded early.
Doubtful. His package has had three more scans since mine stopped. How could mine miss all three of those?
Anyone know how to get a live person at UPS??? Automated system claims my package is still on time for delivery while clearly it isn't.
Try tracking on packagemapping.com , that sometimes shows more updated results than UPS belteve it or not.
I ordered my phone via AT&T's website, I am a Premier customer (due to my FAN) and I ordered a White 64GB iPhone 4S at 7-Oct 7:00 AM. I had recently upgraded to a family plan.
That morning I get an email from Premier stating that my order has been received.
On the 8th, I see that my credit has been charged (my bank doesn't tell me if it's a hold or not).
Earlier today I was talking to a CSR on the Premier website chat system, and she tells me that my order is being shipped by USPS (lol wut?) and it will ship at earliest on 10/14. I expressed my disbelief but she just apologized.
As of 1:51 AM EDT, I checked my bank account and see that I have more money than I expected, and no longer see that the hold is there. But I suppose that they would really charge me when the phone ships, so the only thing I can determine is that it really hasn't shipped for me.
Well either way, I am going to work from home Friday and just hope for the best... :/

Yes, Apple/AT&T requires UPS to get a direct signature. You can't leave a signature for them.
On another note, mine is out for delivery.
I think most people understand how credit card authorizations work. Nice touch on the wiki link though. Myself and several others have a tracking number with the iPhone 4s arriving, but the authorization hold has disappeared and no charge has taken place. It appears there is a delay on some of the online banking/credit card sites on showing the charge. Probably just depends on who you are with. Mine is BoA.
Nope, happened last year. Issue is on the merchant side. Just like the inventory systems are delayed in updating, so goes the charge settlement.
And you may know, but based on dozens of posts in this thread, a lot of people don't.
My BoA hold for $299 disappeared this morning as well! I'm sure it'll reappear today along with all taxes, etc.
According to PackageMapping.com, my package has not been scanned past the location scan in Ontario, Ca at 9:11 pm. It seems it would have come to a local UPS hub in the LA area by now. Looking for that "out for delivery" scan!!!

Well here we are, friday morning, 10/14, just past 6 am.
My Apple ordered phone is on the truck for delivery.
My wife's AT&T ordered phone... who knows. No tracking info, no credit card charge. And her phone was ordered about 10 minutes before my phone from Apple. Thank god the AT&T site started crapping out on me again after placing her order, my phone would be MIA as well.
I suppose there's still some small amount of hope, since some people did get their phone last year before tracking info showed up. But I'm not holding my breath.

I have a question for anyone familiar with ups. I have a Next Day Air delivery with a time of "by the end of day" do you know if they give preference to delivering this packages or are they just delivered on the driver's normal route with the ground packages?
