After reading all these post, I was getting a little anxious, so I called AT&T and explained my stress over getting my phone on the promised date of 10/14. The nice rep on the phone listened intently to my concern and asked me to wait while she checked my order. After being on hold for almost ten minutes, she returned and said she personally went back into the warehouse, found my packaged phone (had to do a lot of digging) and said she would personally deliver it to me at 12:01 AM on the 14th....:rolleyes:
 
I was just now sent my "terms and conditions" for acceptance from pre-ordering last friday before noon. Hopefully this didn't delay anything.

I was told by an online service representative that the priority order was done by the time you accepted your terms and conditions. That made zero sense to me since I ordered online and accepted the terms during my purchase process.

And whoever said that AT&T had horrible customer service.
 
I ordered mine at around 3am on Friday. I was logged on at 2am but the sites kept crashing. Wasn't able to get through until 3am.

My order says processing on AT&T.
 
I'm curious, do all "Equipment Order Numbers" start with EXTP? This is one of several numbers listed in the "Your recent ATT order status" email that I received from ATT.

You almost had me going there for a minute!

Ok guys just a thought.. If AT&T says your order is preparing for shipment that means Apple hasn't uploaded the information to AT&T yet when it comes to tracking numbers.. Apple is probably fulfilling initial orders on behalf of AT&T because ATT warehouses probably won't even see these things hit their inventory until Wednesday or so. I've seen it happen before when i worked in the AT&T distribution center. Be patient guaranteed tomorrow your order will have a tracking number and the package will be somewhere in Anchorage or in transit to Anchorage before you know it.
 
I preordered mine at a retail store at 10:20am on preorder day and my order is "In Progress - Pending Shipment". Hopefully I get it launch day
 
Just spoke with an AT&T rep via chat who replying to my question of "will I have to sign for my phone?" replied, "No, it will be delivered by your postal carrier." I'm not so sure about that.

USPS would be great because my mail comes in the morning and my mail box can only be opened with a key.

I still have no status. Just that page with red writing that says it takes 24 hours for an order to show. Ordered from AT&T by phone on Saturday. Fought with 2 CSRs who claim that nothing will show up until it ships. Morons! 86 pages show that I should see something now.

I had the same issue. Try searching by wireless number instead of order number.

Funny, I just got off chat and the girl said that she never heard of a ordering deadline to receive the phone on time. Goes to show they have no clue what they are saying.
 
So I've accepted the fact that we won't get any substantial updates tonight - but at least we are all in the same boat...
