AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

More likely is that the other 2 are being held back until they can ship with the iPhone. But yeah, still most likely a misleading status.

Hoping someone has a similar order situation as me
I have a premier ATT business account and ordered the 16gb blck at 7 am PST on Friday. I had to order through telesales and heres my order status:
It hasnt changed since I placed the order on Friday. I did receive a confirmation email.
Does anyone elses order status who ordered it through premier business telesales have anything different?
I do remember for the ip4 preorder ATT didnt update the tracking and order status until the day before

I ordered at 5:00am on Friday. My status is still processesing & preparing for shipment. I can't use the reference number trick. The amount is still pending in my bank account. I just want the phone to get here already!

I just called, and it said my order it staged in their warehouse until the pre-order ship date (which is October 13).
Last year I also ordered my iPhone 4 from AT&T and they did overnight shipping on the orders, so don't get worried until the 13th has come and gone. I know I'm not
PS. Last year I got my order in around 8pm EST and thought I wouldn't get a phone... because online it said it would be delayed, but I got it the day before the official release.

Does your order status say back ordered?
Last year my order status said back ordered until I received the tracking number the day before I got the phone.
My current status did have a 1 (yesterday) in the back ordered column and has since changed t0 0 in that column.

I ordered my 32GB Black 4S on Friday morning at approximately 6:45am through premiere. I received an email pretty much immediately from them, confirming I placed the order.
However, when I go to check my order on the order tracking section of AT&Ts website it shows that the order date was saturday. Anybody else have a similar experience. Im hoping thats just a processing date, but it does still say backordered.

Surprisingly enough, despite it not getting past the pre-order stage, it has the day I ordered it listed, which is Saturday.
Thanks for posting this information. How did you initiate an online chat? The only link I could find on the ATT site was a tech support live chat (not for order status).

When you are checking your status in your AT&T account there is a link on the right side of the page.
Wondering if theres a methodical way in which FedEx and UPS are processing and shipping to those of us who made the delivery on 10/14 cut like is some computer crunching delivery zip codes and processing/confirming shipments FIRST to those in areas that might require more connections and effort for delivery, versus addresses in larger cities with presumably more delivery assets and those located in FedEx/UPS hubs especially with such a large set of orders to deliver by one specific day.
Would be interested to hear from people in large cities and FedEx/UPS hubs that have received delivery confirmations as we can't see where most posters live.
I received confirmation of my 4s, 64GB, black, phone order on the Apple site around 1:30AM PST on Friday, and Im kinda surprised I still show as preparing for shipment I live in Portland, OR. With that said, I have no idea as to whether Portland would be considered to be an easy to deliver to city.
The FedEx/UPS tracking trick didnt work for me, even with multiple number formats tried, but I suppose that makes sense as the charge to my credit card still hasnt gone thru.
Ridiculous theory? Anyone with insight into FedEx/UPS?? Just a thought as I read through all the posts here and try to make sense of how this is working.

Ok, well I'm in the same boat as a few others here who can't check their order status online. I kept getting the notice about waiting 24 hours and blah blah. Now, instead of giving me that error, it says the passphrase did not match. And refreshing the page doesn't refresh the passphrase so I guess it's safe to say something is wrong with their tracking system.
On a brighter note, since I couldn't check online, I just called them and heard something similar to what I've already read here: that as long as I placed my order before 5 pm Friday (which I did), it will arrive by the 14th. She was very nice and said the status of my order is "In Progress" and I won't get a tracking number until the phone has actually been shipped. I feel a little better now...just hope everything else goes smoothly and I actually do get it by Friday.
