Lawl... AT&T said they can't cancel a pre-order that has already been shipped even though it was shipped to the wrong address unless the people it was shipped to pay to send it back.
 
Switching the micro SIM

Three family members, myself included, have a family plan with AT&T with a billing addres in San Francisco. I live in LA so I did not upgrade (even though I was eligible) through Apple and instead bought an iPhone 4S directly from AT&T with a new number and new contract (only because upgrading would have sent the phone to SF).

The iPhone 4S is out for delivery and I hope there is no issue taking my current iPhone 4 micro SIM and putting in the iPhne 4S and then calling AT&T to get it on the existing plan as an upgrade.
 
i just got a text msg from att right now and it says :
"thx for your iPhone order! Remember, no need to visit a store. Your device will ship directly to the address stated on your confirmation email."

wtf?

Anyone else get this text message. I guess it means they just now processed the order?!?? even though i preordred on the 7th

I Got this too.. ATT treatment of pre-order in-store customers has been ridiculous.. I just had an ATT representative from the store slam down the phone on me !

I just got the same message. Still on backorder.
I ordered at 10am at my local AT&T store.

Guess they want to rub it in?
Or maybe it has something to do with the orders shipping to our addresses and not directly to the store.

Was it AT&T's fault it went to the wrong address? If they made a complete error there you should absolutely demand your money back! If it was because you forgot to update your billing address first, well, that's on you.

Got that same text. And no it does not mean it is getting processed. I just checked the status of mine, and it still is backordered...

I dont want to fully get my hopes up though since AT&T have been pretty ******* throughout this process, but I just did a Live chat - I am yet to get a tracking number yet but even so they have said this is confirmed for delivery today, they just dont have the tracking number yet.

I've come to the realization that I hate AT&T. I don't mind waiting but it's insane that people who pre-order can't pick up the extra units that are in the stores. I'm Rejecting my preorder and taking my business to Verizon.

It said on the order page that it would be shipped to the "Billing Address" I assumed it meant the billing address that I just entered for my credit card above to purchase the iPhone. It turned out to be the old billing address on the account...

I think you'll be fine because you ordered online. People like me who ordered in the store are a different story.
 
JUST got this message sent to my phone. Shipping hasn't started in Cali yet, as it is only 9:28 am. Did anyone else receive this just now? Or receive it earlier? I really hope this means that I'll be expecting a phone today.

Anyone who ordered 2 and got both shipped???
I signed a new family contract n preordered 2 iphone4s(through premier), but i only see one with tracking info, and the other one still says "preorder"...
On ups i see the package is 1 lb... so i guess only one person can get his/her phone in my house today...
 
I don't remember agreeing to T&C. I pre-ordered at 4:30am EST on the 7th. My credit card company thought ATT's charge was suspicious so they did not allow the charge to go through. I called ATT and gave them another card on the 10th.

When I check the status online, it shows that the first order was canceled and the 2nd is backordered.

When I call ATT, the rep says that she is not showing any backorder, but ithe phone has not shipped yet. Says I will get an email when it does and she doesn't know when that might be though.

I asked if I could just go to ATT store to buy one and cancel my pre-order. She says I can do that, but it may delay me getting my phone.

WAAAAAT??
I'm more confused than ever.

Well, I solved my problem. Went to ATT store. 2 people ahead of me. I told them rep my problem and that I wanted to cancel my preorder. She said that couldn't be done from the store. Fortunately, the 2nd line on my family plan was eligible for upgrade, so used that one and swapped phone #'s. They told me to bring the pre-ordered one in for a refund and reset of eligibility once I get it.

Actuallly a pleasant experience and they seemed to have plenty of stock. Phone in hand.

Did yours say backordered online? or yours said shipped but you didn't have tracking information?

I'm on the same boat as you I ordered a white and black 16 gb iphone at 7 am PST. The black iphone has shipped but the white still says pre-order.

So let me get this straight: They have the phone I want IN STOCK at the store, but since I 'pre-ordered' I have to wait 21 days? This is stupid. My official upgrade date was 11/25. If those time estimates are correct, I will not get my iPhone until then? What BS!!:mad::mad::mad:
