What does this mean?
 
For those of you who can't check their order status online and are getting an error message... maybe this will help you too. My order was canceled by the system and ATT initiated reorder without my knowledge:

I ordered at 7:16 a.m. ET on 10/7 over the phone and accepted terms and conditions at 10:32 a.m. ET on 10/7. I talked to 5 different ATT reps today (2 first phone call, 3 second).

Call 1: The first rep (in order status dept.) said I had a 21-28 day shipment date and couldn't provide more info, but could see my order. Couldn't answer why I couldn't see it. Rep #2 told me that the order # provided at time of call had been updated and some "changes" were made over the weekend. Refused to provide new order # and refused to give me a shipment time frame only saying they couldn't guarantee delivery on the 14th and all orders may take 28 days to ship. I ended call to run to a meeting (yes, productive morning at work!)

Call 2: The first rep said my order was canceled over the weekend due to system error on ATT's part. The system initiated a reorder on 10/9 around 8 p.m. (no email notification!) and I was now looking at a 21-28 day shipment time. At this point I was so aggravated based on the terrible service received I attempted to cancel my order completely. I'd rather give my $ directly to apple, thank you! First rep transferred me to the wrong department (rep 2) who knew nothing about what I wanted, he disconnected me. I called again and talked to rep #3 who told me that you can't cancel your order --- even though if you pay by credit card you're not charged until shipment (apparently debit/bank cards are billed immediately?) I'm waiting on a call back from this rep tomorrow re: can they figure out how to cancel my order. If not I'll be blocking charges directly with my credit card provider.

Lesson Learned: buy direct from apple next time. It's not about the wait time for me at this point, it's about the horrendous customer service. Let's try being straightforward, honest and getting the story straight!
 
processing

I ordered a 32gb white 4S directly from AT&T at about 12:45am pst on Friday....

As of yesterday my order switched from "backordered" to "processing" [image attached] and I have received two emails that say the exact same thing, the latest one came this morning:

We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment.

Your order cannot be changed or canceled at this time.

We’ll send you a confirmation email as soon as your order ships.​

I don't get this preorder business. Are the At&t brick and mortar stores going to be getting phones to sell on 10/14? It just seems weird if they sell them in stores even though they haven't met all the online orders.

I'm not one to jump out in defense of AT&T, as I left them two years ago for a reason, but come one, let's be serious! Let's not confuse inefficiency with dishonesty. No matter how well you prepare, these things are very complex, AT&T has many, many CS reps, and getting them all on the same page is a lot easier said than done. Yes, they could do a better job, but I would never accuse them of being dishonest. Incompetent, maybe. Not dishonest. :D
 
This thread is probably doing more harm than good.

Zero AT&T phones have shipped. Apple has started shipping because those phones are coming from China, not a warehouse in the states.

CALM DOWN. :)
 
So after a 1 hr 30 min hold on premier I finally got a rep..great guy...told me there was a problem with my order..I ordered two iPhones a family plan but their system showed one on family one on individual..he put me on hold for about 10 more mins..came back on the line and told me that not only did he correct the issue, but was able to "overnight" the devices...I'm assuming bc of the time I won't get it until Weds..but still great news..1-2 hrs b4 I get the e mail conf w tracking #...

I'm glad u got it all worked out. But, ur rep lied to u. Don't get ur hopes up and think ur getting ur phones on Wednesday. There is just no way. IF ur rep did straighten it all out and got ur order is back on track, you might get it when the rest of us do. Friday most likely, Thursday would be a miracle. But they are in no way overnighting ur device out tonight or even tomorrow.
 
I don't understand. On my orders on my wireless account page it says I ordered mine on October 9th. I ordered it the 7th at around 2pm est. It's also saying back-ordered. Why could it be saying that? Am I screwed out of the 14th delivery date, you think?

Edit: I even have the premier confirmation email from 2:19 on Friday. On the premier order status it says I ordered on the 7th. I don't get why my AT&T account has my order as being placed on the 9th..
 
I ordered my 4S through AT&T on the phone because I needed to get it shipped to a different address. Placed the order at 7:30am Eastern on Friday morning.

I still can't even check the order status online. It tells me the order is not found. When I call, they tell me that it's in there but I won't be able to check the order status until the 14th.

If I can't even check the order until the 14th, WHO KNOWS when I'll actually get the phone. I'm so angry/sad. I want my new iPhone :(

I think I just screwed myself by ordering on the phone. Am I the only one in this situation?

Same here but I can see my order. Reading debit card sales might get cancelled. Waiting for that debacle next.
 
I think it's safe to say those who ordered over the phone with AT&T don't have much info regarding the order. I just got my tc email a few hours ago and there is no status online. I can only hope for a shipment by Wednesday :/

you: All emails status that I have received since my order was expected "Delivery" on 10/14 the release date for the phone. Otherwise I would have waited and gone to an Apple store.

Kevin Ferguson: I apologize Mr. Haggard, there is very limited information available since this product is still in the pre-order stages. The information we have been given states that preorders made on 10/7/2011 before 5:30 PM will be shipped out on 10/14/2011.

you: I know it's not your fault and you are just doing your job. Thank you for your time and help and good luck with other complainers like me.

I called AT&T Premier Support and even though the Business Order Status Page says "! Attention!" under the status of the order and my account says there are no orders on the account, they don't see anything wrong in their system.

They also said that they are going to ship it to my old address even though I bought the phone with a card in which my billing address is my current address. They said that they cannot change the order or the address since it was already "processed". I guess I'll have to have them ship it back to me since I'm in a different state. Sigh...

Too bad when I ordered it, the Apple Store was down :(

I ordered mine friday@ 5am. The confirmation says expected delivery on 14th. online check status until 1hr ago says pending shipment with nothing at bac-order, and now it appears as back-ordered!!! I hope to received by friday... or I will get very upset...:mad::mad::mad:
