Any of you guys got a Bestbuy Mobile near you? The ones in my area have plenty of 4s in stock just sitting there and also they have the best warranty on phones. But back to the subject matter i put my 4s on hold at the AT&T atore near me as soon as they opened on the 7th and i didnt get mine on the 14th for whatever reason. So i called the Bestbuy Mobile by my house and they was like yea we have plenty of 32gb 4s in stock they put one aside from me and 30 mins later walked out with my new iPhone.

Sounds good, but at this point it's a hassle trying to cancel the preorder so I'm cool with the wait. Again, I can't really complain because I didn't order till the 13th, but it's crazy when VZ is handing out expected dates while AT&T is just simply saying 21-28 days now.

Did anybody else read this? It seems that 2 out of the 3 complaints on here seem to just be pointed at Sprint, yet they associate this with all iPhone 4S'? smh

I was exactly the same until Saturday, where mine shipped for Monday. When is your order processing date? Even though I placed my order at about 10:30 on Friday the 7th, AT&T's ordering server crashed and a bunch of the orders weren't processed until the 9th, 10th or 11th.
 
No change, still back-ordered.... Pre-ordered at the local AT&T store on the 7th at noon EST.

You'd think it'd be in AT&T's best interest to move them as quickly as they can... They don't actually charge your card until it ships.

This WASN'T an issue for the iPhone 4 day 1 pre-orders.
 
Just got my iPhone 4s ordered from Apple

Ordered White 64GB on Oct 9, was estimated to be delivered on Oct 24, then updated to Oct 20, and just got it today on the 19th. Replacing my 3g. I know I'm gonna be very happy.:)

That's BS. I ordered my 32GB white on the 8th and I still can't even track status. I've been hanging around the house hoping it would just show up, but no such luck.:(
 
Seems like at&t is the only company who didn't offer a specific time and date they will send the phone. Verizon did, sprint did, apple do (1-2wk for sure, ontime)............... my email said 14-21 days... which means this friday will be the 14th day, if at&t passes the 14-21 days period and i still don't have the phone, you (F* at&t) watch what i will do, i will blow up your freaking phone and that freaking store!!!!!!!!!!!!!
alright, i have to calm down calm down lol............

Do not count on 14-21. Look at the footnote. It says shipping can be different on the basis of stock availability and many reasons beyond AT&T control. I'm waiting for 1st to get Unlocked phone from Apple. (Not the AT&T off-contract unlocked).
 
So how do they handle this exactly?, I might have missed this in my rage. Do they ship directly to your house from the warehouse or from the warehouse to the store and then ship to you? I ask because I just got off the phone with a csr in the store(not very reliable I know, I'm not sure why I even bother at this point) and he said "I don't know when we'll get more in, we still haven't gotten them in for our 'direct fulfillment customers' ". Maybe I was reading too much into that.

Precisely. They just want to lock in users on the orders so they can start fulfilling once the demand in store is diminished. It's a way to get more sale locked in upfront to secure customers to stay with them. It's a way to compete in this market since now Verizon and Sprint are another players. Previously since they had exclusivity they did not do these bad tactics.

How many % of users who ordered in-store comes to these forum and learn other ways to get it? I'd say less than 5%. Remaining 95% just wait until they get their order fulfilled at the mercy of AT&T. Either way AT&T wins. This is dirty business at expense of screwing loyal customers.

I have to agree. I told a buddy of mine that yesterday. He was amazed at the 4 million 4S iPhones that were sold. I told him about half or even more of that number is still waiting for their phones to be delivered. Once they get you sign on the dotted line it's a sale to them and it's counted rather you got the phone or not.

It's not just in-store orders that are backordered. I placed my order online with AT&T on the 7th at 8:40am MST and got email confirmation at 9:05am that same day with expected delivery on the 14th. As of today my order page still shows backorder with the same footnote. I called CS on the 14th for an update and was given the 21-28 days so I went to my local AT&T store and they had plenty of stock and the rep helping me acknowledged that it was absurd that they gave me a 21-28 day delivery estimate especially since I pre-ordered on the 7th online. He was very helpful the whole time and spent about 30 mins trying to cancel my order over the phone but in the end they would not let him because according to the lady he was talking with, my order was already processing and could not be canceled. He really did plead my case and told them that even his system was showing it was backordered and that the only right thing to do was to let them cancel my order so I could walk out of the store with my phone that day. Nothing he said worked and even he became agitated as the lady kept telling him 21-28 days for delivery. I thanked him for his time and efforts and now I must wait hoping to see a change on my order status one of these days

They keep telling me this. Unfortunately, they can't explain why the card has actually been charged (as of mid-week last week) and yet there is no movement on shipping.
 
Oh well...................................... in store, online, whatever, they pick random? or whatever... whatever................. just give us the dam phone..........................WTF
