They claim that my order is 'in progress' which is not 'backordered.' I have to take AT&T's word for it since I cannot track the order online.

I didn't order until 10/13 so I'm not expecting mine until around the beginning or middle of November.

I've been watching your posts as I'm in the same boat- ordered 10/8 in the AM, and have NEVER been able to see my status. Last call I made (3 days ago) the CSR couldn't see it either, but set up a "commitment" for someone to check on it and get back to me... Never heard from anyone.

I'm really starting to HATE stories like this. Unfortunately, my actual upgrade date is still 11/25, so if my 'pre-order' comes sooner, I should be happy. Or so I tell myself.🙁
as sad as this story is, it actually made me laugh. sorry bout your pre-order, hope it comes soon.
update on mine:
ordered 2 phones on 10/7 10am pst in Southern Cali.
1 phone is out for delivery today, the other is still backordered.

No its not strange.
Its ATT's corporate strategy put in place by the top. As I've said in a long post before. Someone called it a conspiracy theory. A company as large as ATT knew exactly what was gonna happen, and if for some reason they didn't, they are doing a piss poor job of correcting their mistake.

My upgrade date on my line is 12/3 and if I don't have my order by then I will cancel the upgrade on the other line and save it for another date.

For those checking under UPS Mail Innovations, entering any reference number and six digits in the area code produces a package that is unable to be tracked. Seems to be just a glitch in the tracker, that is why the ship date keeps pushing up everyday.
Just got off the phone with a CSR who told me that my order was still back ordered and that the estimate ship date is 21-28 days FROM FREAKING TODAY. she then proceeded to, get this, OFFER TO CANCEL MY ORDER. And I said "Have I been able to do this the whole time?" and she goes "Yes." and I proceede to blow up on her about how I could have had a phone a week ago and all the lies aTT has been telling me for the past week. I flat out sked for some kid of credit or compensation but nada. Anyway, I told her that yes I would like to cancel my order and she said she would get confirmation and call me later. That was like an hour ago. She said usually it is pretty quick but it might also be this evening. This could all just be ******** again but whatever it is something different. I am going into Boston today, does anyone know the iPhone situation there?

Just got off the phone with AT&T. First rep tells me that my phone has shipped. She puts me on hold to get a tracking number and then the call 'disconnects.'
2nd rep looks it up and it was the 3G Micro cell replacement that shipped, not my iPhone. She tells me its on backorder and apologizes. We'd be rich is apologies were dollars, right?
My upgrade date is still 11/25, so this 'pre-order' is the only chance I have of getting this phone before 11/1.

Iphone at AT&T Stores...
Have a good friend that i pre-ordered my phones from and just asked him if they had any in stock or expected any. they do not have any in stock and are not expecting any shipments for "awhile". Hopefully this means they are catching up on pre-orders!!! fingers crossed!!!😀😀

i actually checked both stores here in kc and they only had 64g available. goes without saying that since i'll be on the site again since the patron saint of at&t is our lady of perpetual backorder.
