Those who got shipped on the order, how long does it take from Backordered 0 to Shipped 1 in your case?
 
I ordered mine at 2pm EST. And today after about midnight the quantity backorder went to 0! Finally some movement! I hope the rest of you get yours off back ordered, and get your phones!!
 
Mine is no longer on Backorder as of tonight. I order a white 16gb in the store at 1:00 pm cst ... I live near Waco,Texas so it shouldn't be long now if its coming from Ft Worth. :cool:
 
My black 32g that I ordered on Oct 7th at about 5:30pm PST has FINALLY CHANGED ITS STATUS!!! That dirty word "backordered" has now been changed to "processing"! SO HAPPY! It changed sometime in the past hour btw. Hope you guys are all seeing changes now/soon.

I am in the same Boat.. I see Processing and i jump for joy.. Again I ordered my in the store Oct 7 @ 545 pm EST..

I ordered on the 10th at 6am and was told or my bf was told 14 -21 days..... i am not sure if this will happen but i hope! i ordered a 16 gb white which by reading the threads so far on here sounds slow on the shippage..... :( i hope it has let off some! today saturday marks 12 days since i ordered.... so tuesday would be day 14 and i hope it arrives then or later next week after tuesday.... i cannot stand waiting any more :( hearing of everyone getting theirs already sucks! lol my bf ordered his via the att site on oct 9 a day or technically less than 24 hours apart and i sadly hope he doesn't get his first which may be a far fetched wish, although from reading the white 16 gb may ship next week so i hope ours come together lol..... any thoughts?

Dude, you have patience. I ordered mine at 12:50 PST on the 7th. Was backordered as of the 14th. By 5pm on the 14th, I gave up waiting and cancelled my order by phone, got my upgrades reverted, then picked up two iPhones from a local AT&T store.
 
Hold out hope YoMan! I was bummed thinking that I was going to have to wait a week to transfer service with my phone arriving on Monday and the wife's still on backorder but magically tonight her phone went to backorder=0. Hopefully they ship it tomorrow and both phones come Monday. Damnit I just want to play!

Yea man, i think i have to wait until monday since i don't expect them to work over weekend. It's getting so close~

Oh and btw, did you order 16GB? because 16GB (black or white) seems to have higher demand and moving slower. Mine is 16GB White.
 
shipping update

both were ordered oct 7th around 12pm eastern time. one this morning has gone off back order (black 16gb) but no shipping info. the other (white 32gb) still on back order. first is my wifes phoen of course. ARG!!!:eek:

Just got off the phone with a CSR who told me that my order was still back ordered and that the estimate ship date is 21-28 days FROM FREAKING TODAY. she then proceeded to, get this, OFFER TO CANCEL MY ORDER. And I said "Have I been able to do this the whole time?" and she goes "Yes." and I proceede to blow up on her about how I could have had a phone a week ago and all the lies aTT has been telling me for the past week. I flat out sked for some kid of credit or compensation but nada. Anyway, I told her that yes I would like to cancel my order and she said she would get confirmation and call me later. That was like an hour ago. She said usually it is pretty quick but it might also be this evening. This could all just be ******** again but whatever it is something different. I am going into Boston today, does anyone know the iPhone situation there?

So, update. Called AT&T at around 6 in the evening about the fact that this CSR had not called me back about my cancellation, and the CSR is all "What? Huh? Cancellation? That shouldn't be happening!" and I was all hell no and even remembered the previous CSR's name and told her to ask her. So after I kid you not 30 minutes on hold she finally got back to me and said that my order should cancel and that it should be within 24 hours of when that cancellation order was put in, at 12:46 pm, and at some point I should be able to check my eligibility status by dialing *NEW#. I asked why it took so long and she said it was because of the queue of other customers canceling. So I said that if my cancellation was such a surprise and forbidden, how is there a queue of customers waiting for cancellation? She said that apparently with all the delays now they are allowing cancellation. So I asked for how long I've been able to cancel, and as she looks up the info, either the call drops (I had full bars) or she hangs up. Probably the former but my cynical side wants to say the latter. And she doesn't call me back. As of 10 am EDT my upgrade eligibility status is uncheckable apparently. At 12:47 pm I will be sure to place a call because I have reserved an iPhone for pickup later today at the Apple store and so help me if I leave Boston tonight without an iPhone.

Edit: oh and I forgot to add, this morning I can FINALLY track my order on AT&T website. Backordered, of course. Yippee.
 
My 32GB white became trackable at midnight. As of 10:13 EST, its still on backorder.

If they let me cancel, I will get a 64GB white at Apple today.
 
Just called and cancelled my order and had my elgibility reversed as well. Thinking about just ordering through Apple.com now. Bet it would be much quicker than AT&T. Good luck to everyone waiting still and God bless. I'm now done with this thread.

If you have a nearby Apple Store, I would go there. I have a reservation for today, but I still haven't cancelled my order.
 
I did what someone previously did and looked up the orders being sent out from my local store. I am order number 75 and went down the line from those before me. I ordered a 16gb white model on 10/8 and nothing. So I made a spreadsheet and this is what i got....

hi all! just writing an update to let you know what happened. finally talked to a csr yesterday morning at att and he had no clue that another csr had spoken to me the night before. what the heck - thank god i called in. he was very nice and cancelled my phone order for me without having me going into the store to take care of it. i had also called the sales rep that had helped me at the store and she said it was possible to cancel but i had to call att directly - she was really nice, and said that if i wasn't able to, she'd help call later and see what she could do to fix things.

even with a reservation i had to stand in line for 3.5 hrs to pick up my 16g white 4s, and it was cold - now i'm getting sick. this is kind of ironic since i had preordered to avoid lines, but a week after the launch date, i was standing in line for it. if your phone is still backordered, i'd suggest reserving the night before at apple - they had a new entire shipment on thursday, i confirmed this with the representatives.

good luck with getting your phones - hopefully the wait won't be too bad. i'm glad i'm done and can finally lose this obsession!

They only have black 16GB in my area and I want white so I just placed an order via Apple. Deliver expected Nov 4-Nov 14. I can live with knowing when I can expect it oppose to AT&T just throwing out numbers. I can live with the 2 week wait. It may even be sooner.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but haven't been able to get this info.

I've gone to order status, typed store's phone number using work/home search, and store's zip. I even went by order number around mine. Keep getting an error message both ways.

What am I messing up?
 
BTW, while all these is happening, i'm sure we all know how bad at&t is handling this so call PRE-ORDER thing~

I'm so pissed even thou i have to wait, i will still file a freaking complain to at&t. Guys make sure you go BBB and file the report! Support the community and send a message to those horrible selfish billionaire CEO that we still have the power to speak up. And also let them know that this time you got our business is because you got the iPhone and our trust, next time it won't be YOU (at&t)...
