AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Holy cow!
I ordered a 64 GB Black model online at about 7:45 ET on 10/7.
Just checked and went from "Backordered" to "Processing." Sounds like a big batch just got released from others seeing the same thing.
Any ideas when it will ship? Arrive for Monday?
That would be ideal as I'm leaving town for the rest of the week on Tuesday AM.

Hate to burst the bubble after being frustrated last night about it.
Had 2 4S pre-orders, black 32gb and white 32gb. Order #s in the 80s. ordered the black one 5 minutes before the white one at the AT&T store on the 7th at about 11am PST.
Tracking info has been updated for my black 32gb at 10:30AM PST, "Will be shipped on Oct 24th before 3:00PM". But still backordered for my white one.....
Hopefully this is a sign that they're finally shipping them for those who ordered on 14th and so on with a 14-21 day guarantee.

done and done. iris (my wife's version of siri) now has yuna to keep her company. in and out of the apple store in 30 minutes. would've been longer but i told them i'd set it up at home.
i explained to the guy i had that i'd probably be switching to verizon in two years and he asked why. told him and he mentioned that there was another couple in the store who had nearly the exact same thing happen. one was delivered and the other was in backorder oblivion. i guess the guy had been on the phone with at&t for a couple of hours now trying to cancel the order.
so i'm happy i have my phone but my big takeaway here is the half-a$$ job at&t did handing all the issues from day one. i feel honesty (in this case saying "we have no idea when you'll get your phone) instead of deception (you should have it on the 14th - nothing; you should have it in 7-14 days-again, nothing; 14-21 days-no sign of backorder being lifted). i say good luck to everyone and i hope they arrive soon!
10/7 approx 2:45 pm CDT - two black 16g ordered through premier at&t
10/9 around 10:30 pm CDT - notice "attention!" on premier site
10/10 early morning - call premier to sort out cc info - transferred to natl business ordering and an extra phone is ordered (at&t's first mistake)
10/10 from 4 pm CDT - 9 pm CDT - attempted to cancel unnecessary order and was told that i could NOT. reassured that both phones should arrive 10/14.
10/10-10-14 throughout the week i call premier and am reassured on several occasions both should be on porch 10/14
10/13 wife's is shipping - mine still shows backorder
10/14 wife's arrives and is activated 10/16
10/21 after *both* (2 of 3) of my orders still show backorder (no zero) i give up and decide to cancel orders. after spending about an hour and a half being tossed around at&t call centers both orders are cancelled and black 16g is reserved for pickup at apple store
10/22 black 16g is picked up and activated.

Pre-ordered 4, 16GB 4S's on 10/7 at around 2pm EST in my local AT&T store. Rep at the store said he thinks I'd get them the Tuesday or Wednesday AFTER the 10/14 launch. So about 4 or 5 days after. Ok, I can live with that. I got the emails in the store like right as he did each order.
Now in retrospect, it seems he may have known something about how the pre-orders were going to be shipped? Not sure why they were advertising 10/14 delivery if you pre-ordered the first day, but then say he thinks I'd get them 10/18 or 10/19...
I did call customer service on 10/16 because I hadn't heard anything and like you they were really not that helpful and kept saying to wait etc.
So fast forward to today. Checked my orders and finally the QTY-Backordered column reads zero!!!!! They had 1 since the first day. So I'm hoping to see tracking maybe Monday? Lets hope so. That's the most change in my order since the first day.

Great! Mine (black 32) went off back order last night too and I'm crossing my fingers for a tracking number soon.
This is exactly why I don't pre order iPhones anymore. 1 week later and some still haven't gotten theirs. I walked in to best buy saturday (after the friday launch), and I walked out with a 4s in under 30 minutes.

I am in disbelief of how all of us are waiting so dang long! and how even people who ordered on the 7th are still waiting well some of you....and it makes people like me who ordered early morning on the tenth feel hopeless lol especially also since I ordered a 16gb white model which from the sounds of it is shipping out later and slower than the larger memory iphones.....
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the phone comes this coming week....or else ill be sad as heck.... I really hope I don't have to wait till mid November or something

And that's why I cancelled my order I placed on 10/13. Apple gave me an expected delivery date of 11/4-11/14. I can live with that, but it felt like I was going to be waiting at least another month with AT&T.
As did mine. Mine just updated with a shipping date of 10/21, but no tracking number yet. What a relief. Finally. Assuming since it shipped on a Friday, I can expect it on Monday?
I'm out. Called Retentions and cancelled my order. Since I was polite, the csr's mgr changed my upgrade date from 11/25 to now!
Went to Apple and bought a 64GB white.

I would not get my hopes up, I have been in processing mode for a while but pre-ordered a day after you. I also do not think that they work weekends but have been told they will ship overnight express. I would call and ask for the escalated 'customer fulfillment ' line but they probably wont be able to give anything but 14-21 day estimation. If you get a tracking number you always can divert to a new address via FedEx or UPS sites. Good luck and I hope you get surprised on Monday.

That's not so bad, just means you are a few days away and should get a Monday or Tuesday delivery (they usually don't deliver residential Sunday).
I ordered when you did but they didn't process my order until the next day - so no iPhone for me.

Lol I called Apple and told them if I could cancel my order from AT&T order and buy thru them. The cs rep told me yea cancel it and call me back and I'll make sure you get it in 5-8 days. I said well at&t wont let me cancel and he was like yea we got a huge book on them not canceling orders and that they were turnin them in directly to apple management. He was like they are lucky steve isnt around cuz he would chew their a$$ out lol guess at&t will be hearing from apple soon

I ordered same phone as you on the 10th. We got ourselves a good Christmas present.
My status just updated with FedEx tracking numbers .... It went off backorder last night around 11:00 pm cst ... I ordered a white 16gb on the 7th in store at 1:00 pm cst. ... It says it's shipping today the 22nd overnight priority and will be here by 4:30 pm Monday the 24th.
