This is depressing, I per-ordered my white 16GB 4S on Oct.7, and I'm checking the status on my phone constantly with no change, and now I'm the running joke at work, (I work at the Apple Store in the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento, CA) the joke is that I'm THAT guy who per-ordered with AT&T. Shame on me.

Sorry to hear that man.. I was at Arden the other day cause my girl needed to stop by Victorias Secret, which is pretty close to the Apple Store. (You work there, I'm saying the obvious lol) but anyways, I saw a decent line to buy them and tons of people walking by with their new 4S.. one dude even had it hanging around his neck on a necklace strap. I almost felt tempted to rage, but held myself back.
 
this doesn't sound right.

check if any pre-orders from 10/7 were shipped to your store. being first to pre-order at your store, you should be one of the first orders for your area (or so you would think...)

from order status page, use "business/work number" for search method, phone number and zipcode of your att store.

list will show any orders being delivered to store - look for iphone 4s orders on 10/7 to see if any got shipped and what type of movement is happening in your area.

I'm in Northern Va and just checked status of pre-orders made on 10/7 that are being delivered to my store. nada - 2 16gb white are still backordered. 3 other pre-orders from 10/7 were shipped on 10/10 (16gb wht), 10/19 (16gb blk) and 10/20 (32gb wht). nothing for today, yet.

but to let you know how it happened, got att status update email 4:27pm today for the black 4s, 8:54pm for white one. was order number #62 and #64 for my zipcode, if that matters. i must have checked every hour since 10/7, hoping i would be surprised to see this email to pop into my inbox.

hang in there - slow trickle given what they did. but fingers crossed that you'll hear very soon...

Yeah, I've called AT&T twice about the phone they said in writing would be delivered on 10/14...

Each time they pushed the expected date back.

They're now saying Mid to Late November.

I ordered my phone October 7th at 2am (after trying a dozen times for their website to accept my order.)

So, by "Pre-order", AT&T actually means they'll lock you in and deliver your phone after nearly anyone else who wanted one is taken care of first... LOL

Ive been waiting since the first Iphone came out in 2007 to get my hands on one.

I finally pre-ordered one because I didn't want to camp out in front of the Apple store as I've seen the news reports over the years of people doing so.
I remembered when I preordered Battlefield Bad Company. I did so, and the damn game came on the damn day it was released to the public, I preordered it 2 weeks before. No hassle, nothing.


Now I'm gonna get the phone in November???

I have a Samsung phone that still says Cingular on it and ATT is treating me like this...

When I say me, I mean as an example to what they're doing to all of us for some profit when they already make more than $50 million NET PROFIT per day...

Maybe some pirates stole 100,000 iPhones from a cargo ship and thats causing the delay. If it was that, at least tell us. Then I would understand and be calm about it and not hate this company.

We better get some damn compensation for this.

The worst part is, he had a white one.. same color I ordered. And he was some skinny asian dude. I'm a built guy and could have easily punked him for his necklace and phone but karma is killer so i restrained. I was indeed mad about seeing all of them tho :mad:

Similar story, some asian kid few days ago sitting at the dmv next to me few chairs over... Pulls out his damn 4s and tells Siri "I love you"

I felt my hand reach for my blade but then saw the security cameras lol:eek:

I've brought this point up. Video game companies like Gamestop will take pre orders, and order as many games as they need in order to fulfill the pre orders demand. Then anyone who didn't pre order will have to go somewhere else, or wait for another shipment. Is this THAT hard for AT&T to do?! I know they're a MUCH bigger company than Gamestop, yet they don't understand the concept of a good pre order system? Even if they deal with completely different products, it shouldn't be THIS HARD to fulfill pre orders demands.

And also, if I don't get my phone by next Friday like they promised, I'm demanding my phone to be free, or AT LEAST half off. I won't stop until I'm compensated something. Absolutely ridiculous.

I ordered my in the store on 10/7 at about 5:30pm CST. My 32Gb Black iPhone was finally shipped with a tracking number today, with delivery on Monday!!!
 
Quick update, guys. My order went from "Backordered" to "Processing". Thats a good sign, hopefully they will ship it next week. But I still will call to complain and ask for credits. btw, I ordered on mid-day, 9th.

I'm ignorant because I felt anger towards the fact that I payed for and "pre ordered" my phone on the 7th, and have yet to hear ANY NEWS WHAT SO EVER about it while all these people who could probably give a flying finkle crap less about what they're buying can just walk in and buy it like it's just what everyone is doing? This phone is a late graduation present from my mom and girlfriend and it's starting to look more and more like a christmas present every week that goes by. You don't know my situation, Frankly. You don't know what this means to me.

This is the first gift that my girlfriend is buying for me that is a decent amount of money, she fought me to buy this for me and when i finally let her, AT&T wants to pull this crap. I can't even get it?! But all of these people who could have possibly just read "New iPhone is Selling" in the news and thought "New iphone huh? I think I'll go buy one today." can go get one NO PROBLEM? Do me a favor, and don't say anything to or about me unless it's positive because you may have gotten your phone no problem and AT&T must be great for you right now but thats not the case for me and some other people on here.

Matter of fact, what are you even still doing here? Your phone is in your hands, you are done with pre orders. GTFO of here and go post in another thread, or do you have nothing better to do but come in here and talk about frustrated people and their anger? Right now is NOT the time to try and push my buttons.

Just got home from work, so I'm sitting behind the genius bar, and my best friend who works with me pulls out his Verizon 4S and asks it "When is Narimon going to get his iPhone?" to which Siri responded "That is a good question" Needless to say I was ready to strangle him. Luckily don't have work tomorrow. But I might have to take every day off until I get the phone so I don't have to be around them so much lol. Working at an Apple Store is literally depressing me now.

Thinking about reserving one from Apple. If I reserve one, am I obligated to pick it up, or can I just not show up? Do I pay when I reserve it? Not sure if I will have time to go to the store tomorrow.

I've got the same thing happening. Ordered on 10/7 in store, last night it went from backordered to processing. Now it won't let me check it and has even said "no order found" once. I will flip out if my order got lost. UGHH
