I've been following this thread since the 14th to figure out where i stand in line for my phone. I never even had the intention to post in here till i saw you ignorantly talking about wanting to beat up some asian guy that has fashion statement issues just because he wants to hang his iphone 4s around his neck.

Hey all:

I pre-ordered my phone from AT&T through Customer Service at 9:00am was told I would have the phone in my hands by the 15th. I could not even get info on the website about my order. When I called CS I was told my 1st order was canceled & re-processed on 10/15! I was livid :mad:!! I flipped out because they already had charged my account the payment cleared & no delivery. I canceled my order immediately! I went down the block to see a guy I know at Radio Shack he said as soon as he receives his shipment this week he will call me to come pick up my phone... It's ridiculous how AT&T treats their customers!! The service is good, but CS has a lot to learn!!!

The battery in my 3GS is pretty much shot, I'm tethered to house power. At 56% battery the phone goes dead and with the battery showing 100% it only equates to about ten minutes of talk time. The online place where I was going to order a replacement battery is sold out and back ordered.

Sure hope my 4S gets here soon, AT&T doesn't care. I will remember when my contract is up.

Update again. My order has been shipped yesterday via Fedex overnight. It will be here on the 25th. My pre-order date is the 9th and was talked 21-28 days wait. Good luck everyone.

Late to the thread; figured I would add my story.

At 6 am CST on the morning of October 7, I placed two orders for black 64 GB models from ATT's site. Wife and I were both eligible for upgrade, yada.

Placed both orders a minute apart.

Each of us received email confirmation in a few minutes that order was successful.

Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to be delivered on Oct 14, 2011.

On October 8, we each receive an email that had this message:

We wanted to confirm that your order for iPhone 4S 64GB Black on 08-OCT-2011 00:00:00 is still scheduled to be delivered as early as October 14, 2011.

As the week progresses, I check the site to see order status. No change, just pre-order.

Meanwhile, card is charged for both phones.

On Wednesday October 12, wife receives an email with shipping number. My phone is still in pre-order status.

On Thursday, I call in to see what my status is...told that it might be 2-3 weeks before I receive my phone.

On Friday, wife receives her phone. I call ATT again...am told it might be 28 days now. I'm beyond pissed. How is it one phone can be delivered but not the other?

Thought about visiting the local corporate ATT store. Walk in, am told by the sales flunkie that they were out of 16 and 32 GB models, but had plenty of 64 in stock. I briefly explain my situation, and she is of no help---but took my name and put it in a queue to speak to someone else. While waiting, I notice a number of folks who had never had an iPhone being aggressively pushed on the 64 GB model.

Finally meet with the manager on duty or whatever his title was. He tells me there is no way they can assist me. I'm visibly frustrated, and he can tell. He tries to play off the "promise" that I would have a phone on the 14th. While I acknowledge that I was never promised a phone on launch day, I point out the hypocricy that he stated the best way to insure a phone is to order it on the website. As I am pointing to the customers being rung up for sales on a 64 GB model they probably did not want...I tell him the moral of the story is not to order online if you want a phone and leave.

Next day (October 15) I notice the I had a voicemail on my 3GS. Check it, and it is an automated message from ATT giving me a $50 refund on my next bill, and that I "may" receive my phone on Monday. Hour or so later, I receive an email with a tracking number and a delivery of "by 10:30 am Monday".

So, there was a conclusion to my story. What pisses me are two things:

-Wife and I order at same time, but only one phone is delivered.

-ATT store was of zero help to me.

ATT really needs to clear up their entire ordering/sales/inventory/store situation. Life is not fair, but selling a $400 after subsidized device a week early on the premise that you will receive it on the "launch day" and then not delivering, yet continually keep insisting to a customer that the best way to ensure you get a phone is by ordering it online is piss-poor.

You've got to be freaking kidding me. I mean I'm glad you got your phone, but dam*ed if I'm not pissed, I pre-ordered on the 7th and I haven't gotten jack squat.
 
Here is the complete order update:

1. ATT online pre-order 16GB BLK on mid-day 10/9th, confirmed 21-28 days for delivery.

2. Called CSR on the 13th, tried to cancel the order and go to store next day. No luck.

3. Called again on the 15th, tried to cancel the order, no go.

4. Kept checking online order status page twice a day until yesterday. It changed from "Backordered" --> "Processing".

5. Checked today around 2 EST. It says shipped with tracking.

6. Called back CSR and threaten to cancel the shipment and go to verizon instead unless offer me some credits for the trouble. First offered $25, I said you gotta be kidding, I WANT $100...... CSR went silent, then offered $50 instead. Also promise to waive $18 upgrade fee once I receive the phone.

Tip, if you want the credit, probably better call in before the phone shipped and still in there warehouse waiting to be picked up. Otherwise it would be much tougher to cancel the order, hence less chance getting the $50 credit. But it could be vary depends on the CSR you talk to....

Good luck guys, time to order case and screen protector.

I orderd mine store at 2pm eastern time.16gb White

It was been on back order til this past friday 10/21.

Yesterday 10/22 it shipped from Memphis Tennessee VIA FedEx and has an estimated arrival date on 10/25 (this tuesday)

SO I'm pretty excited and hope the rest of you get your phones soon!:D
 
My story:

Pre-ordered my 32gb white 4s on the 7th and got confirmation email that day. Called everyday and got mixed messages about when my iPhone will come in. Called on the 17th and the lady told me they made some mistake and didn't complete the order on their end. So basically my order wasn't really completed till the 17th. She gave me 50 bucks off my next bill and over night shipping when it comes off backorder. Now I'm stuck with a crappy flip phone that half works till the 4s comes in. No clue when it will come in and I'm thinking I won't see it till November. I thought about canceling but all the stores around me are sold out and won't see any soon. Sad story but sucks because if they did their job it would have come in on the 14th.

I come on here to keep up to date with all of this information that is being passed on into here. Updates on people's orders so I know when to expect mine to be updated, etc. I did NOT create my account to come and argue. Although it seems that some people have.

BTW, still backordered with you :( crossing my fingers for both of us.

Has anyone still not been charged by AT&T? It's been over a week since I've had my phone.
 
Here is a quick update to the orders that I have been checking from my local At&t store. Looks they are making headway, but at a fairly slow pace.

AT&T to big to fail

I am still disappointed .......

1. I ordered on-line through Piss Poor Premier on Oct 8 at 5pm

2. I received two identical email confirmations within minutes of the order
giving me 14-21 day window

3. The AT&T link that was embedded in the emails was updated on Oct 10
showed preorder status and never changed

4. No other AT&T links or on line resources worked for me and only way
to get updates was to call Premier number

5. The bank pending charge showed up on mu account and sat there for
7 or 8 days

6. I called the Piss Poor Premier Customer service line every other day
starting on October 14 and got various answers to when it would
ship but it seemed that for the first week I got very optimistic answers
and assured it would ship tomorrow or the day. Gradually slide into the
21 day story line. I was told up until last Wednesday that I could
not cancel my order

7. I emailed ATT customer feedback (did not include a phone number
because I wanted a written response) and AT&T CEO that makes 27
million and does not like to get emails. I never got a response but I did
get a frantic voice mail from some lady from executive service saying
she would cancel but cancelling the porting of my phone number was
tricky and that I would loose my upgrade eligibility. As a new customer
neither one applied to my situation so I never called her back because
I thought she would muck up things even more.

8. Other than this site the only other information that I could find about a
shipment was on UPS tracking site that showed a package that was
waiting to be shipped that was attached to my phone number. There
was no tracking info and the ship date extended every day to the next
day.

11. I thought I would be happy but starting out with AT&T this way just
does not feel right. I will call AT&T on Monday and see if the will give
me a credit but I will also call Verizon and see if they want to keep me
as a customer.

This experience just sucked and I wish you guys luck and hope that all the 7th orders get shipped by Monday.
 
Well it's obvious to me at least that this weeks shipment has been alloted and there will be no more updates so I guess we'll wait for the next shipment on Thursday to be distributed.I'm sure those who received theirs ahead of those who ordered earlier are happy and the rest of us are growing more frustrated each day.They have until the 31st before I cancel and buy at a store.
I will wait the 21 (+) days and I will fire off complaints to the BBB,my state attorney general and the Justice Department.Almost forgot,to the clown in charge-no,not Obama but the one at AT&T.
Hopefully Apple has alloted fones for those 22 new countries this week and NOT reduced our allotment.I wonder if folks in those countries are in the same boat as us.

Do you think apple is fixing these phones (batterygate and also the yellow tint and some vibration issues) before they are sent out?

Maybe thats the reason for all the backorders?

or is it truly cuz AT&T is garbage at their customer service?
