I know everyone is mad about this but for me seeing 10/14 orders go through is awesome. My order is 10/17 (was 10/7 but AT&T failed to finish it on their end) so that update gives me hope.
 
I'm going to check tonight and see if i can reserve the one i want.. i checked last night at around 10, and all the white models were gone, but they had 32GB black and 64GB black. I checked about an hour later, and all of them were gone. I'm thinking if i get on there at 9 or around there, should be fine.

You definitely want to try your luck around 9pm if not earlier. I would start trying around 8:55pm tonight. I decided to finally do this 2 days ago and Im glad I did. I went online at 9:10pm and kept getting a server too busy because of high traffic message but I kept refreshing the page and it took about 5 mins to finally get through. By then they still had 16g blk, 32 blk and wht, and 64g blk and wht available at the store closest to me. Reserved a 64 wht, the next morning (yesterday) called att and cancelled my order and went to apple store around 1pm and 5 mins later I had my phone in hand and finally happy that this is all over. My pre-order with att was placed online early morning on the 7th. Lady that helped me at the apple store said that she's had so many people complain about the same issue I went through with att and that att is trying to put the blame on them. Lesson learned...never pre-order from att ever again!!

16GB Wht: to 0 BO on 10/25 - tracking number on 10/26, expected 10/27

If I had to do it all over again, I would have ordered through Apple online.

How are you checking your Premier orders on that site? Are you using your wireless number and your billing zip? Or do you have a Premier "Order Number"?

If you have an order number, would you mind giving it to me along with your zip? I want to take it to my local AT&T store and prove to them that their service is FAR FROM first come first serve.

Premier shouldn't be synonymous with "higher priority" - at least there's nothing on my confirmation e-mail that says I may have to wait for all Premier people to get their orders filled first.

When I try this, it cannot find my order number. If I do it by phone number, it shows my original Blackberry order from last year, but nothing about my current order.
 
I just asked AT&T customer care why Premier orders are allowed to jump in front of everyone else and they had no answer. Although, they did give me a $25 credit. Doesn't make up for the figurative "kick in the junk" but at least I'm getting somewhere.

I'm on hold waiting for a supervisor that might have more info.
 
In general it seems like a much quieter day in here (and not just on my list, where nothing has changed since last night) in terms of stuff shipping. That the impression you guys are getting? Maybe we had our weeks' worth of shipments and won't see anything further til next week. Sigh.

In the meantime, I just pre-ordered myself a Kindle Touch and my wife a Kindle Fire. I bet we see those sooner than 21-28 days from release. :)

not really...wednesday is a slow day usually for shipping from Apple from when i worked for ups and dhl

They ship usually every 5 days i think...when i called AT&T they said that always falls for them on thursdays..so either tonight at midnight or tomorrow night at midnight things should i update...

I sure hope Tuesdays aren't bulk order days...

Something else the CSR rep said I found particularly interesting (if true): People who order online are able to get it faster because they're just placing ONE ORDER while the store you ordered from is asking for a BUNCH of orders.

That seems like it can't be true, but if that's how this supply chain is managed... then YIKES.

You ordered a 16gb white and you already have shipping info??? You are the lucky one, this was a good preorder for you, since all of us who ordered 72 hours and more before you still have nothing.

Not mad at you, but at the evil giant they call ATT.

That almost sounds plausible, except (as I understand it) the in-store pre-orders are individual orders too, being sent to each home. In fact, they had to process my order and my wife's order separately (at the same time as another couple, with that other couple getting orders 73 and 74 between myself (72) and my wife (75).

If the store was placing bulk orders to get into the store itself, and *then* distributing to the people that placed in-store pre-orders *at* the store itself, I could *almost* buy that explanation.

Either way, it's crap how they're actually handling it.
 
No further movement.From what I have read here it may take a day or so for tracking #s.There was one person yesterday whose went off backorder and was still waiting 2 days later for those #s.I have no probs waiting at this point.

took one of my orders from friday to tuesday to get shipping info
other took 1 day
 
UPDATE-Good news, finally. Okay.

Called the AT&T store i pre ordered from. They CAN cancel my order now, but i have to go in store to go cancel it.

If i can reserve the model and color i want tonight, i will be there tomorrow morning to cancel. Then I have to drive to the mall that has my Apple store, and go wait in line. If all goes perfect today, I will have my phone tomorrow. If not, I will keep trying every night until i get it. This is almost over, thank god.

The only problem in my plan is that I have a work shift at 12PM tomorrow afternoon, and I will need to be driving a lot and waiting in line. Hopefully all will work out.. I've always been a "go with the flow" kind of guy so I just gotta go do work tomorrow.
 
GUYS. I keep calling CSR. They keep telling me different things. Just now, I was told it would take 21-28 BUSINESS days. I was originally told 7-14!! Funny thing is I'm only order number 99 in my local at&t store with orders up to 89 already filled!! This is ridiculous !!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen this happen with orders that encounter problems and need to be re-entered. It's entirely possible that order 184 was placed on 10/7 and something iffy happened with their credit card (see other posts on this thread) and it needed to be cleared up by customer service. To be fair to the customer, they wouldn't make them "get to the end of the line."

There was a weird thing like that in my list, too. Orders 40-55 were 10/7, 55-63 were 10/8, but 61 was a 10/7 stuck in the midst of those 10/8s. Could've been a "glitched" order that had to be fixed or something like that, but I really don't know. Have read too many stories of people with glitches being bumped to the back of the line so, yet again, inconsistencies with AT&T being the order of the day.

Using wireless.att.com/order_status:
I check my order using my wireless number for the phone that will be upgraded. So to check on the Wht 16GB, I use the wireless number for that phone upgrade, and to check on the Blk 64GB, I use that phone's wireless number.

I curse AT&T regularly. Sorry to folks getting leapfrogged. If it's any consolation, my wife is getting her 16GB tomorrow and my 64GB is in BO hell.

I really wish I did my research before I place my order with AT&T. I place my order on the 20th (I was in the hospital for awhile, couldn't pre-ordered earlier) I knew it was going take awhile. But some of you guys pre-ordered on the 7-8th and still haven't receive your phone yet. That is pretty ridiculous. For the past few nights. I been trying to reserve a phone on the Apple site around 9 pm. No luck so far... I guess for the mean time, I'll be stuck in BO hell. This really sucks since I'm on my 3G. The phone is really really laggy.
 
Pending Shipment...

When I check my order status it has been pending shipment since when I pre-ordered it on Oct 9th 10am.

I've been reading that people have had theirs say backordered then to pending shipment and then received a tracking number soon.

Has anyone else been in pending shipment since day 1 of their pre-order
 
No longer backordered!

Ordered my 32gb White on 10/10 (though the order status pages says 10/14...) and finally am no longer backordered! I'll report back when I have a tracking number. It looks like this nightmare is finally coming to an end! :)
 
Went off backorder last night at 11p and just received shipping update from order status check at 630p.No e-mail update.Ordered online from AT&T on 10/8 for black 16g.In Memphis w/FEDEX for 2 day delivery on Friday.So that will be 20 days.

Just talked to ATT, as one user said, they're just passing the buck over to apple.

They still apparently don't know ANYTHING and it is all up to Apple.

And they won't let me cancel my pre order because my order has already been in processing for 20 days.... what? Sorry. Just needed to vent a little. 21 days is Friday and it better be here.
