AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I've been reading this forum since the first post and now can finally chime in.

I ordered a 32 white on 10/7 at 7am (CA time) online. Order number 1502...

Shortly after, Chase flagged my card and called CSR to fix. They fixed the problem. Had same order # but now dated 10/8.

Has been backordered ever since.

Was debating canceling and trying my luck at apple now that people are able to cancel but worried about no local stock.

Just checked my status again and finally out of backorder. Waiting for delivery info, hopefully in the next day or two.

I would have gone crazy without knowing so many others were in the same boat here. Thanks, guys!

When I check my order status it has been pending shipment since when I pre-ordered it on Oct 9th 10am.

I've been reading that people have had theirs say backordered then to pending shipment and then received a tracking number soon.

Has anyone else been in pending shipment since day 1 of their pre-order

Still see "Pending Shipment" / Backordered "1" on my order. It's been that way since the 8th.

I'm a pretty mellow guy, but every time I see a post about someone ordering on the 9th or 10th that already has their phone I feel like "rage posting" a big rant about AT&T's preorder system. LOL

If I'm still Backordered on Friday, I'm just going to cancel. I'll wait until I visit Honolulu next and maybe pick one up then. My current phone still works, so no big deal.

I'm only mad because AT&T said in writing (twice) that my phone would be delivered on October 14th. They shouldn't have given that impression.

Just received e-mail confirmation 1 hour after order status changed to include shipping info.2 day delivery which puts them at 20 days.

I have the same situation. (STORE ORDERS ONLY!!) As i mentioned on above comment, every other phone has shipped that was ordered on the 7th EXCEPT FOR 16GB white... they are moving very slow. As of today, at&t is starting to ship orders from the 8th and there are still 5 white 16GB backordered and im one of them.

So what that simply mean that they are moving, slowly slowly slowly and if you're not ordering 16GB white, you have a better chance of getting it earlier.

lol~ Totally agree. In terms of giving status of order.. they are COMPLETELY USELESS!!!!!!
BTW, seeing every other order BEFORE and AFTER my order has already been shipped (everything but 16GB White) .... pretty sad~ Come on!! I/We ordered on the 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! useless at&t FFFFFFFFFFFX@@@XXX

Just talked to ATT, as one user said, they're just passing the buck over to apple.

They still apparently don't know ANYTHING and it is all up to Apple.

And they won't let me cancel my pre order because my order has already been in processing for 20 days.... what? Sorry. Just needed to vent a little. 21 days is Friday and it better be here.

Yes please!

BS Call Customer Service and ask to talk to Retentions. They CAN and will cancel your order. Regular CSRs do not have that authority. And if you are nice with Retentions, you can get $$$. I was able to cancel my order last Saturday AND collect $250+tax to cover my early upgrade fee. And $18 for my upgrade fee on Monday. You gotta be persistent AND polite. Good luck, now pick up that phone!

Went to work today, (Apple Store) and I literally wanted to attack every single guy I sold an iPhone too. My picture below should describe why I'm so pissed.

I live in Sacramento and ordered a 16g white through att. Why don't you reserve one at apple and cancel your instore? That is what I did last weekend, reserved Sat night, had my phone Sunday. You weren't the guy with the hurt arm were you?

This really sucks since I'm on my 3G. The phone is really really laggy.

I hear you. I too am still rocking a 3G, and it suu-uh-uh-uh-ucks! But Oct 7th preorder is finally in transit via Fedex for delivery before I get home from work tomorrow. Went off backorder yesterday am, showed initial tracking this am.

I look forward to breaking myself of the I-know-this-will-take-five-minutes habits the 3G has ingrained since iOS 4 slowed it to a crawl. (Habits like tapping a link, then setting down the phone to go make a sandwich while the page loads.... And the every-few-days hard shutdowns with their placebo-effect ability to convince me the thing was now running faster.)

Good luck on getting your 4s. Let's hope the next iOS upgrade doesn't obsolete it!

I was "in progress," "# ordered = 1," "# backordered = 1," "pending shipment" from the 7th until 2 days ago when #BO went to zero. Shipped this am.

I ordered online the 18th through premier, I guess actual order went through the 20th as that is the date that shows up.
Hope mine comes off backorder soon then!

Fed Ex Standard Overnight

16GB black finally shipped this morning. Funny thing though: We ordered a 16GB black and 64GB white around 4pm PST 10/7 in store. The 64GB white shipped yesterday from Memphis via Fed Ex 2 day and the black 16 shipped today from Fort Worth via Fex Ex overnight. We should be getting both phones at the same time.

Surely a coincidence since there's no way ATT is this organized. I wonder why some are shipping via 2-day and some overnight.

I think that is a ploy as I ordered through premier on line and they said they were shipping overnight but looking at the tracking on the shipment shows that they were in no hurry

5 more phones went to "0 backordered" in the last few hours for my area. 3 32 GB white, 1 16 GB white, 1 16 GB black. They include the last two 10/7 orders, 2 10/8 orders, and 1 10/10 order.

And I'd given up hope of any sort of status change today.

Finally! My order just went off backorder. I ordered in store around 11am central time on Oct. 8th. I'm so excited! I can't wait for it to ship!

My order went off back order today It still says processing but I know it's only a matter of days not weeks now.

I just received my shipping notice about 30 minutes ago. Overnight from Ft. Worth with delivery by 3pm tomorrow.

16 GB White / Premier / Order placed late on 10/12.
