AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

After 19 days I am finally showing 0 in the back order column. It's about damn time. Black 16gig 4S ordered on 10-8-11 at my local AT&T store.
 
Ok, I ordered on 10/8 in the store around 5pm and I just checked and I'm finally off back order! I'm guessing it happened about an hour ago. All i can say is that I'm somewhat relieved, but not satisfied.....
 
Got shipping information after it got off backorder yesterday! Overnight shipping with delivery time of October 28th by 3pm. YESSSSSSS
 
So frustrated with at&t in how they're fulfilling orders that I went ahead and reserved a phone at 9:20 pm on apple dot com.

Any advice on canceling both the ordered phone AND the contract on AT&T?

Ordered 10/8 in the store before noon. 16gb white came off back order this evening.
 
They finally took my phone off of "backorder" status and into a "processing" so i hope that is a good sign.

I ordered off att.com 64gb iphone 4s white. on oct 8 10 am
 
Form to allow package left on doorstep?

Not that my phone will ever ship, but if it does, isn't there supposed to be a form somewhere that I can fill out that will authorize the delivery guy to leave the package on my doorstep? Any idea where I can find one of those?

when u get ur tracking number, u can do it at fedex.com
 
Radio Shack

Just read an online article that Radio Shack is a little known secret with respect to iPhone retailers. Apparently the weekend of iPhone 4S launch their shelves were stocked without enough buyers.

I called my local Radio Shack. They do sell iPhone 4S (availability will vary). So, if you're tired of waiting for AT&T, consider canceling your "pre-order" and finding alternate retailers.

Best Buy seems to be sold out everywhere.
 
Went off backorder last night, I hope it's not just a ploy to keep me calm. Gimme my tracking number !
 
Went off of back order yesterday, no shipping info today.. hoping to get some tomorrow. If I get it tomorrow, they don't deliver on the weekends? I always thought that they did. :confused:
 
tracking numbers within 12-24 hours. i just received my phones yesterday and today :) WOOOPP good luck!
 
my 10/9 order went off backorder Tuesday. Still hasn't shipped. I'm starting to worry cause most ship the day after it's off back order.

I had Fedex delivery 2 4s on back to back days and left it on my front door. No signature is needed or forms to fill out. Just becareful that no1 else takes it.

just curious, when did you order?

if you call att and request to cancel the order, they should as long as it hasn't shipped. You may need to request a supervisor, be firm. They supposedly have changed their policy to allow cancellations over the last few days. If you ordered in store they may make you go in to cancel.

in terms of switching to another provider, I'm assuming you reserved the phone from apple on a different network. You should be able to start a contract with that activation and port your numbers. If you are cancelling, you should make sure you try to get things squared away with ATT to avoid hassles later on. If they do ship the phone I believe you can simply send it back, but that's a pain. You may also be able to call your credit card and request the charge be denied, effectively cancelling the order if it tries to ship. Just a few ideas.

I ordered 10/10 in store for a black 16gb AT&T. I had originally ordered on verizon but then found out they can't surf and talk at the same time. I was sick of AT&T because from work to home there are four dead spots, and that's in the middle of metropolitan Miami. I'm an engineer in telecom and it's obvious to me this company skimps on the network with the knowledge that most people won't realize it. After this order process lunacy and another tidbit of info that consumer reports rated Verizon's network better than AT&T I couldn't take it any more. I reserved a 16gb black phone with apple dot com.

I'm wondering if I can get my Verizon phone today with a new number and then after a week I switch its number to that of my existing AT&T phone and cancel the entire AT&T line. I believe there's a return policy with Verizon so it they give me a hassle in changing the new line's number I should be able to say ok forget it gimme my money back for everything. Lol. We'll see. I have no clue what I'm doing. :)

Edit to add: the AT&T order is number 235 and they haven't even shipped number 175 as of my last check yesterday. I'll see how many shipments there are per day. My hunch is it will be at least another week if not much much more.

My white 16 gb 4S came off back order sometime last night, ordered in store 10/8 about 2pm.

Ordered 2 phones on the 9th in store. Told 2 - 3 weeks but email received said 3 - 4 weeks. On Oct 23rd 64GB went to 0 b/o and then showed shipped by noon (Washington State). 32 GB still b/o.

Doubly annoyed, seeing as though I'm one of them!

It's going to be amazing how much more productive I am at work once I get this friggin phone - not because I'll have Siri, but because I won't be pinging the status website every 20 minutes.
