I suggest you wait for it,. Same thing happened to me, crs stated my order had been cancelled, but my status still showed in progress. They actually sent me my order in a week after so called cancellation! So crs don't know anything....

Actually you would have been right. I called today to see why my upgrade hadn't been reinstated. Turns out my order wasn't canceled at all. -_- But I had them cancel it and looked online to make sure. My upgrade is back, I got an email saying it was canceled and when I went to check my order status is also said it was canceled. $10 says I still receive a phone from them in a week or two. Lol. My husband's line is available for upgrade too and no way is he waiting that long for a phone. So road trip it is!
 
How did you guys cancel your in-store order? I called customer service and they were unable to cancel over the phone. Do I have to go back into the original store I pre-ordered it from?

I tried to cancel my in-store order at the store while the order still showed back ordered. The girl told me and I quote "if we can do it, no one here knows how to"

So then I call the toll-free number, and after some escalation was told that I had to go back to the store AND speak to a manager there.

I would have kept escalating but honestly it wasn't worth the effort. I happen to live nearby to the store so I decided to wait for it to ship and then take it back to the store.

I tried to save them the shipping costs and save myself a trip to the store which of course were completely needless. Their system is so inflexible and illogical that they could neither spare themselves or myself the inconvenience.

I received the phone and went to the store, and as I stated in a previous post, was about to be charged a $35 restocking fee, but the burgeoning look of anger on my face made them quickly waive the charge.

Not only did they lose money in the shipping and lost me as a customer, since I ended up switching to Verizon, but I tried to get that phone to a relative who was going to upgrade on her account.

They said no. They said they could not do that and that the phone had to go into inventory and had to wait at least a day before being given to anyone. So she now will probably not upgrade since it is so difficult to get a 4S. That means she will not renew a contract and will very likely, upon my suggestion, switch to Verizon.

Goes to show you that being inflexible can bring bad consequences.

I know huh? I've been following this thread since the 27th, and was shocked when I saw all the "1"s had changed to "0"s. I feel badly for others, but feel pretty good about my luck. But I'm not holding my breath until I have them in hand.
 
Wow, I'm seeing 10/27s change to 0.

All orders up to 10/27 have changed to 0 in my area, expect maybe 4 or 5.

UGH @ this. Lucky person in my area.

well folks my phone just went of back order from 12am eastern time now is just waiting for the tracking number lest att i want my iPhone for Friday:D:):p:apple::rolleyes:
 
Mine went off backorder yesterday morning but nothing changed yet. No shipping info. Maybe AT&T just playing with us....
 
I ordered mine on 11/1 and sometime over night it went from backordered to processing.

How long from this point does a tracking number come?
 
Still no shipping info but got some random CSS email from AT&T welcoming me and thanking for choosing AT&T and iPhone.

Maybe it is close. Ordered 10/24 went off backorder 11/2

WTF...11/1 and 11/2 in-store are shipping in my area with tracking numbers, but mines still haven't come off backorder!.:mad::mad:

So annoyed that AT&T told be 4 weeks. I guess Apple sent them massive shipment. Ordered 32GB Black from ATT store in NYC.

Only downside is it says it is in Ft Worth TX but estimated delivery not until next week Nov 7 :(

But in any event better than last Nov when I was expecting it.

Did you pay for overnight shipping? My estimated delivery date says Nov 7

I ordered a black 16GB 4S on 10/28. After I ordered they took the money out of my bank account. Then yesterday I decided to check my bank account online to see how much was in there. There was $216 MORE than there was supposed to be. So I called AT&T and apparently my order got canceled. They said it was because I paid with a debit card and since it was on back-order the bank wouldn't let them hold the money that long. So they wanted me to pay for it with a credit card. I don't even have/want a credit card. So my husband and I will be driving a total of 7 hours tomorrow to two different Apple stores. BUT I'm still able to check my order status and it still says, "In progress." Also my upgrade eligibility has not yet been reinstated. So I guess I will be calling them again today. -_-


Anyone else have this Debit Card problem?
 
Today I took my shipped phone back to AT&T. They initially had the gall to charge me a $35 dollar restocking fee. The expression on my face must have spoken volumes because they said they would waive the fee even before I could complain.

I regret being so against change.

Good riddance to this company.

Every day that goes by with my new Verizon 4S phone I regret staying with AT&T as long as I did. Oh well. Better late than never.


Unopened iPhones and iPads are exempt from the $35 restocking fee, per AT&T's return policy
 
to those who ordered 64giggers (prefferably black) how long did you wait?

I ordered a Blk 64GB on 10/11 online through ATT Premier (allegedly this gets priority over regular orders). I am still on BO as of 11/3. I have passed 21 days and am almost ready to pass 28 days.

Since phone is still BO, there is no chance it will be in my hands by Monday (day 28), so I am considering canceling the order at this point, canceling ATT (the drop outs and dead zones have been irritating for the last iPhone), and buying one on another carrier.

Please update if you ordered a Blk 64GB...
