AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

What I don't get is why ATT doesn't put some clear wording on all of their order sites... Instead of showing "back ordered" which freaks people out, they should put "awaiting shipment from apple" or "in warehouse, pending shipment". The order status page should say, "your order is expected to arrive on the xxth, however this is not guaranteed".

It just seems like a little bit more info would save them thousands of phone calls, and associated costs...

I don't disagree but AT&T seems to have clearly told people that "backordering" just means waiting for shipment which is coming soon

I understand some are being told 7-14 days but overall, many are freaking out for no reason at all

Their phones will be with them Friday

Number 1 is what I was referring to. Status just says "pending" and doesn't display the status boxes shown in screenshots from other people's orders on the business order status page.

Number 2 returns an error (no order was found) -


Number 3 I have no clue what the other number might be - I assume inwould find it using View Order in account management but since it can't find it. :/ using the wireless number instead returns another error saying it can't complete the request.

I'm not really freaking out here but I am a bit concerned.

This is something that botched me up as well. My AT&T Family Plan had an old address on it. When I tried to pre-order through apple at 1AM PST, it reserved the phone but would not change shipping to the correct address. There was no way to change it, so I had to ditch the reservation altogether. I ended up with a 3PM PST order from AT&T and am probably not going to get my iPhone for 7-14 days after launch.

To use Number 3 I had to go with the phone number of the main phone on the premiere account. We have 3 phones and when I tried the non main phone number (that is mine) which is awaiting an upgrade I got the error message people have mentioned before (error, 24 hours, blah, blah). When I used the main number for the account I got a status page which showed the two phones pending shipment and no backorder.

Same with me. Ordered Fr. at 10:15am CST from AT&T Store. Still showing as Qty. Backordered / Pending Shipment.

I pre-ordered on AT&T and it said they would ship to my billing address which I entered for the credit card I was using. I thought that was the billing address they meant, but I guess it was the old one on the Family Plan. I guess I'll have to get them to ship me my phone when they get it. I called AT&T and they said they can't change the order since it was already processed.

My order, as well, using the ATT order view.
Shows my order "processing"but the status also shows "Backordered"
I ordered mine in person at my local ATT store Friday 10-7 around 5:30 PM

also- My local ATT store sold me "AppleCare". I just read there is now an "AppleCare +"
Did that happen to any of you?

Unfortunately I get the error with both numbers associated with the account.

I ordered on 10/7 and didn't get my T&C email until the 10th. Now the AT&T site says I ordered on 10/10 which is BS because my credit card was charged on 10/7. Will this affect my shipping date? I called AT&T and the rep had no idea if this would affect my shipping date. I hope it doesn't. The entire point of pre-ordering was to get it on day 1 and avoid having to wait, if I have to wait 21-28 days I will be hot!
 
Does anybody's status changed since Friday who orderd iPHone 4S - 32GB - White????

My order was placed by my ATT rep. at 8:15 am on Friday. I got email confirmation same time with two order number. one with EXPTB and second Shipping order - all numeric.

i can't check my order status on Premier website or business website. All says order not found.

However if i go to www.att.com/orderstatus it works.

it is saying "Back Orderd" and "Pending Shipment" since Friday. Still on Backorder - 1.

So I want to know if anybody who ordered White - 32GB - iPHone 4S has any status change yet???

i am in the same exact boat. i just got off the phone with CSR. they are now saying the order date was 10/10 and shipping looks like 21-28 days. another member also said the same thing.

i hope that this is just an error within their system. im hoping by tomorrow some good news comes out :/

Did you order through Premier? If so, what is the order date on the PREMIER order status site? If it is on the 7th (and you ordered before 5PM EST), you will likely get your phone Friday or shortly thereafter.
 
Shipping!!!

Mine has made it's way from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, ready for UPS to pick it up. Should be on a UPS jet tonight!

Ordered: 7 a.m. on first day.

Current status: in Louisville, KY (I live in Indianapolis)

Still says it will be delivered the 14th but could be as soon as tomorrow if it's in Louisville.

Did you order over the phone or through att.com? is it a premier order?
 
Shipping?

I ordered from Apple.com at 2am on Friday (White/16GB) and my order has been "preparing for shipping..." since Saturday. The charges were being held on my bank account but then went away...no shipping notice yet. I live in Southern California. Wondering when the heck mine will leave China!! :confused: :mad:

T&C mail? What's that? I haven't gotten anything since the Premier Order Received mail that I got on the 7th.
