AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I'd be concerned if no charge (not even a hold) was made to my CC. Did you get a confirmation email from ATT?
Why am I made to wait??? I didnt even order the new phone! I ordered the IPhone 3S!
It's like this... I called the number and spoke to the representitive and she told me that there is a bacl-order for the 4S's and that there could very well be a delay in shipping my order.... I told her that my phone is not the new 4S but the old 3S. She said that my order will be shipped by tomorrow morning .... still no change in the order status though... SMH *sigh*

You could have walked into an Apple or AT&T store anytime the last 2 years and gotten an iPhone 3GS.
True. However I chose not to but this is besides the point and its neither here nor there. Fact is this. I shouls not have to wait like this if my phone is not new. Please do not think that I am tring to disrespect you in any way. This is not my intention at all.
So my wife finally got through on the Premier phone line.
According to them, the order never went through. Even though I received a confirmation e-mail, with a confirmation number, which does lead to a status page, they say it's not valid, and she has no phone reserved for delivery.
Once more, never ordering from AT&T again. I'm calling again in the morning anyway for a last ditch effort to solve this, but as of now it's looking like I'm lining up at the Apple Store for her phone... after getting up at 2:30 last week for a pre-order and getting a confirmation...

I'm just saying that you should not have to wait for a older model phone to be shipped. It makes no sense....PLease feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
No. Totally. I understand. You have your reasons. And I do think it's a bummer that they can't even ship an iPhone 3GS immediately. It's readily available.
Maybe as someone else pointed out, it has to do with the $0 price. Maybe that doesn't take effect until Friday.
Just got the email about 15, 20 minutes ago that my phone has shipped!
