Or just go to Apple.com right now and order. You will have it in 1-2 weeks.

I could do that, but we'll be out of town during that delivery period.

I'm still dumbfounded how a confirmation e-mail with a confirmation number is not actually a confirmation.

After being told by 2 AT&T CSRs via chat that The USPS would be bringing my iPhone, I called them. A fantastic CSR, whose husband is also awaiting a 4s, told me that mine was scheduled for overnight shipping so FedEx would be the carrier. However, many people would be receiving standard shipping through the USPS. She said that the system assigns shipping methods and that they have no control over or understanding of it. She also implied that USPS customers should start seeing tracking info tomorrow, but I wouldn't see anything until Thursday.

AT&T Blows

I called AT&T today and talked to a nice young lady and she said that it didn't matter how soon after 0300 Eastern time I ordered the phone through AT&T and there is absolutely no guarantee my phone will be here on Friday. The best she could promise me is some time between 10/14 and 10/21. The only reason why I'm really concerned is because I'm leaving for Europe friday evening and was hoping to have the better camera (currently have 3gs) to use while on my trip.
Thanks AT&T I hate you.

fyi, my phone has been in "pending shipment" for days now.

I ordered my phone a little after 3am on the 7th. However, im still seeing 'processing'. I called at&t and they told me that ALL phones are shipping on the 14th and i should have my phone the following week. I really hope this CSR doesnt know what shes talking about.

There is 100 different stories from 100 different CSRs on this forum.

From my understanding, ATT uses only FEDEX and UPS for shipping. I have never heard of people getting their iPhones via USPS. For one thing it would be a logistical nightmare. Consider all the people at apartments or condos who have shared mail boxes with one of those larger size lock mailboxes for packages. The USPS could only get a fraction of the iPhones delivered placing them in there. Another thing, the Post office is not designed to deliver to every single house going to the door and getting signatures for packages. If the USPS were to try and handle 1 million iPhone deliveries on top of all the regular mail and packages, lets just say most people wouldn't be getting their iphones on friday.

Leave package delivery to the companies that solely deliver packages and leave the mail to the mailman.

I thought the same thing, and I hope you're right about AT&T not using the USPS but 3 CSRs tell a different tale.

THIS is the kind of crap response AT&T needs to worry about.

Becuase of responses like the above we get from AT&T. There is so much conflicting and misleading information out there. This is just wrong. Why can't AT&T get a communation plan to all their employees that they all actually deliver in the same manner?

That is like asking why at&t can't deploy a decent network across the country... they make plenty of money but just can't effectively do... anything.

It is just one of those questions that is a mystery of the universe and will probably never be answered.

Ok, now this gets even crazier...

I just got another e-mail:

Thank you for your recent Premier order. In order to complete your Premier order number <redacted#>, please contact us to update your payment information at 484-547-8106.

Thank You,

The AT&T Premier Team

That's not a number I recognize from any of the Premier contact information I've seen, and it smells like fish. On the other hand, they got the order number right, but they misspelled my wife's name... this is getting bizarre. Not sure if I should call or try the 866 number again on the contact page and reference this e-mail...

It is not a mystery, it is outsourcing your customer support. Instant communication of policies is difficult when trying to sync with the other side of the world.

Everyone I've spoken to seems to be from the states. Yet they know nothing.

What message did you receive previous to this one?

Premier email attached...

I got a similar email. But mine says that I ordered it on the 8th. But I ordered from premier at 7am on the 7th. Either way, it still says delivery as early as the 14th.

They must have gotten tired of all of the phone calls. Which was not me.. just patiently waiting...

Where is this AT&T online chat feature? I have a legitimate customer service question I need to ask.

Is it a premiere only feature? I can't find it on the regular website, and I'm not a premiere member.

Just go to the virtual helper, start using it like normal. Ask it ur question, let it answer u, and then type "live representative" and it will connect u.
