I ordered my 32GB White through Premier site on 10/7 2AM PST, my status is still BackOrdered. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the model I selected, or maybe because I am a USPS employee and it cannot be shipped with FedEx so it hasn't been handled yet?

For those who got the second email reconfirming your 10/14 delivery date, can you please specify the model you are ordering and if you are a USPS employee?

Ok all I have a question:

I am wanting to order a 4S, using my moms upgrade, get the phone and then give her my iPhone 4. She is currently using a 3GS.

How does the whole switching of the numbers and stuff work?

I'm in London until early November, but I want to be able to get the phone from home in the 3 days I am back before going back to school for winter term.

If I have her order the 4S through the apple site, will she just be able to use her 3GS until I get home? Like ordering the phone won't affect her having to swap numbers to a new microSIM or anything? or does it automatically come pre-loaded with your new number since she will be ordering it using her line?

Any answers would be helpful! :cool:
 
you know, for someone who doesn't even know what Premier is. im pretty sick and tired of hearing about it.

I could be wrong, but I think it relates to an organization you belong to (like mine USPS) that offers its members a discount on service charges. Like I pay $22.50 instead of $30.00 a month for my unlimited data plan.

If it is real, it could also be a good sign. Since they don't actually charge the credit card until it ships, it could mean that they're starting the actual shipping process now. I didn't get that email though. I did get the earlier Premier email. If you call it, let us know what they said.

Well we did call, and it does indeed sound like a good sign.

Being worried about fishing, we got multiple points of information to confirm it was legitimate. They provided our last payment and date, last 4 digits of wife's SSN, and total amount due for the phone, in addition to the order number referenced in the email.

According to the CSR we spoke to there were a number of orders that, for whatever reason, the payment did not push through automatically correctly. They are beginning shipping now and for these customers they are pushing the payments through manually. She said that the person we spoke to earlier was at an off-shore facility (which we gathered) and that they can't access order information for which payment has not been processed through a certain level, and that's why we were told that we didn't have a valid order.

Further, she said we should still receive the phone on the 14th. Crossing our fingers that this works out well in the end...
 
I know were all excited to get our phones and I'm checking the forums to see if their shipping yet but come on people the same questions are being answered when you could look two responses above as see your answer. I think its pretty clear by now that if you ordered before 1730 on the 7th you'll be getting your phone by Friday. I know we want direct answers from ATT but I'm sure their overwhelmed and were not gonna get anwsers by calling them.Just sit tight, relax and time will tell. If you see on ATT premier site it says pre orders will ship by 10-13.

i also went onto the att wireless site and clicked on the online chat in the order status page.
I was told that if i placed my order before 5pm on the 7th that i would get the phone on the 14th.
 
AT&T just BLOWS! I'm not saying that they've totally screwed up yet, but for some reason I smell trouble. I mean wouldn't u think that the CSR's would at least pretend like they know what's happening and all have some kind of consistent story...Even if it was total BS. Ive heard SO many different stories about what is happening. It must be a circus over at AT&T right about now. The only consistent thing ive heard is that "if u ordered before 5pm Friday, you should get ur device on Friday". But NOTHING after that. They have no idea when things will ship, who will be shipping it, when order status will update, etc. etc. etc. I've talked to 3 different reps and I've read countless posts from others who have as well, and I put it all together and u know what? They have no effing clue what is going on. I have ZERO confidence in anything that they have said. Each one is dumber then the next. It's just rediculous. U can get better customer service from the homeless guy cleaning ur windshield. It's just NOT acceptable as far as I'm concerned. This is one of the largest carriers in the country. Were not dealing with some mom and pop corner store. I don't know about all of you, but it boggles my mind that the service can be that hideous. It's not even a little bit good.

Cmon "Nick"...you didn't just tell me "I'm sorry sir but no orders will be shipped from our warehouse until the 14th or later" and then follow it up with "yes, if u ordered Friday morning u will get your phone on the 14th"..and then...Question(me): "ok, that's good, so for the people who will be getting devices on Friday, when can we expect tracking info to show up in our order status?"... Answer(nick): "most likely Friday evening". Question(me): so I'll be able to get my tracking number using my new iPhone? Answer(nick): "I think so".. Me: "thank you... You've been a great help" Nick: "your welcome!"

I mean....C'mon, ARE U SERIOUS? And this is the second (different) "Nick" I've spoke to.

I know a lot of us are anxious and they are fielding a ton of nonsense calls (including mine). But at least give me someone with an IQ above 50. And if that's too hard at least come up with a uniform, intelligent sounding lie.

Hopefully tomorrow brings some better news. I just hope by some miracle everything falls into place for all of us who ordered early Friday. And especially the ones who got up in the middle of the night to "ensure" we got one on launch day.

Did you get the email about ordering the phone on oct 7th at 00:00:00 first or just the payment email?
 
I pre-ordered iphone 4S on Friday over the phone, but I didnt received the term and condition email until Monday. I called CS on Monday and the guy told me I could receive on Oct 14, but this morning, I received a email told me my order will be shipped in 21-28days:mad::mad:. The online status now shows my order date is Oct 11, but I placed the order on Oct 7!!!

Same thing has happened with most people (myself included) who ordered over the phone Friday morning. It really sucks, but after many calls to CS, I am pretty sure we are just at their mercy. The worst part is that the rep told me before and after I purchased it that it would be delivered by the 14th. I would not have preordered if I knew i was going to get pushed out 3.5 days and lose all chance of getting the phones delivered on the 14th. And hell, for them to quote 21-28 days is just ridiculous. It could be the second week of November before I get my phone and I just have to take it. I can't even cancel at this point since it is an in-progress order. What a giant failure by ATT.

Hoping for a miracle...

Thanks stwebb, I got the first email confirmation as well but didn't get the second one. I am not sure if it will be shipped USPS but I read on the status page that "Unless you are an employee of UPS, USPS or DHL, your shipment should ship via FedEx." :)

I hear you. We have to just hope we get shipping numbers or some extra info tomorrow. Just 2.5 days left, wish they'd go faster though :/

Just the payment e-mail so far. Now that the payment issue has been fixed I hope to see the re-confirmation e-mail that people are now receiving soon.
 
Nothing has changed as far as my order status, but my bank account shows that they have now paid ATT. Ordered a 16gig blk in store at 915am on the 7th.

The exact same thing also happened to me. I called customer service today, and they said their system shows the order was received on 10/7, even though the order status page we can see says 10/11. He also said that the date we see is the date they processed our T&C acceptance. I have a sliver of hope of getting the phone on 10/14, but I won't hold my breath.
I agree, massive failure.

Scheduled to be delivered as early as October 14th. That could mean as late as whenever. Would have liked it if they had said it is scheduled to be delivered on or before October 14th.
 
If by progress you mean lots of people who just registered today, who have NO prior posts, - telling us they got their phones shipped by AT&T, then yes, we have progress.

I think all these accounts are just to get people riled up.

NO Premier AT&T phones have any tracking information yet, and until someone here with more than ONE post says it shipped, I won't believe it.

It's amazing what people on the Internet will do for attention. :rolleyes:

Heh, that's a sad view. I signed up today because I've been lurking on this thread for a couple days and thought I'd finally get involved. I've been reading macrumors for months now, waiting for this phone, but never had any reason to sign up for the forum until now. I wasn't aware that there was a criteria for having your input taken seriously. Frankly, some of you people with massive amounts of posts don't seem to be any more reliable than others. :p
