Alright, I forgive you, then. I just took that way personally, since it totally described me, lol! You Mac users are supposed to be friendly. I agree that everyone needs to stop being so panicked and start spreading the lurve.:D

*takes bow*

Most of us here are very friendly, usually. I'm friendly, sometimes. :D Welcome to the party in any case. :)

Last launch I remember some people getting their iphones delivered before they even got their tracking numbers!

Idk if somebody has done this yet, but mine has been on "Processing" for the past 2 days and I asked them if they could tell me the eta date for my phone and this was the reply I received

Alright, look.

I called AT&T about 500 million times, and this is what I got out of it (meaning all of the statements without contradictions).

1) AT&T's order/shipping status is only applicable for iPhones in the US. The status does not cover the journey from the Chinese warehouses to the AT&T warehouses.

2) Everyone is supposed to see "In Progress" and "Pending Shipment" right now, with a "0" under the "Backordered" column.

3) Like many people have stated before, preordered iPhone devices will ship from AT&T warehouses beginning on the 13th, or possibly the 12th. They have most likely been shipped from China yesterday or today, and that is why Apple.com preorders are showing their phone's status but AT&T preorders are not. AT&T only covers the phone's journey from AT&T warehouses to your house, and Apple's orders cover the phone's journey from China to your house.

4) If you don't have a "0" under your backordered column and if you ordered before 4:30PM EST on the 7th of October, you will most likely get the phone on the 14th. Why? Because that's approximately the time when AT&T ran out of iPhones being delivered from Apple's Chinese warehouses. Now that this has happened, they may be waiting for the second batch to arrive.

I'm sure some of what you say will turn out to be correct. BUT, I ordered a 32GB black iPhone 4S at 2am PST, October 7, on AT&T's website, which was within minutes of the Premier orders being accepted for the first time. I still show backordered = 1. There's no question I was one of the first people to order a phone, and people ordering many, many hours after me show backorder = 0. I think, as usual, AT&T is handling this pretty badly.

I don't doubt my phone will show up on the 14th, but it wouldn't kill AT&T to put a message on the order status page like... "Shipping information won't be available till Thursday when phones arrive in the USA to go out next-day delivery."

I'm sure the number of phone calls AT&T has received in the last few days because of this is staggering.

Scheduled to be delivered as early as October 14th. That could mean as late as whenever. Would have liked it if they had said it is scheduled to be delivered on or before October 14th.

They will never guarantee delivery by the 14th. Once it's in a carriers hands it's well out of their control.

99.99% of the devices scheduled for delivery on the 14th will make it there. The other 0.001% are going to fall into "unexpected **** happens" land. If they promised delivery by the 14th that already upset 0.001% would be significantly more unruly.

Don't sweat it -- you'll get your phone this Friday. This is exactly what happened last year and in the end, the backordered status will clear and you'll get your phone. In terms of next steps, you'll get assigned a tracking # which won't work because it's the automatically assigned tracking # that doesn't have any activity and you'll proceed to freak out over that for at least a half a day. Then you'll start seeing some activity tracking and you'll have an internet orgasm.

I jut got the same order update email that people are starting to post...

My Order # is 101415741977493**

If it makes you feel any better, 3 of my lines went to "Processing" but one is still stuck on "BackOrdered" as a fellow Premier customer. I've called multiple times (three different Premier reps) and each one of them assured me that all four of my orders were processed well, well before the cutoff and should be expected for delivery on the 14th. I ordered about the same time as you (confirmation e-mails ranging from 5:00-5:07 EST).

Out of curiosity, what site is that? I see it pulled up a lot and would like to check it. I've tried logging in through ATT.com as well as checking the order directly on the Premier site - neither look like that.

Ordered 10/07 at 1:45 AM PST, order shows Pending Shipment, this is what AT&T said via chat tonight:

You: Ok great! Has our order been shipped yet?

Aubrey Richer: No the orders won't be shipped out yet, but since you ordered on the 7th your phone should be getting to you on the 14th. We just don't have them in the warehouse yet to ship them.

Where is everyone "chatting" with AT&T reps online? I must be blind, but I can't find any sort of "live help" tool on AT&T's wireless site

Same thing has happened with most people (myself included) who ordered over the phone Friday morning. It really sucks, but after many calls to CS, I am pretty sure we are just at their mercy. The worst part is that the rep told me before and after I purchased it that it would be delivered by the 14th. I would not have preordered if I knew i was going to get pushed out 3.5 days and lose all chance of getting the phones delivered on the 14th. And hell, for them to quote 21-28 days is just ridiculous. It could be the second week of November before I get my phone and I just have to take it. I can't even cancel at this point since it is an in-progress order. What a giant failure by ATT.

Hoping for a miracle...

On the other hand, I find it unimaginable that my order status page and credit card hold would remain unchanged for a full month, but I guess anything is possible with att. Also, I don't know why they even have a customer service function. They would be much better off financially and the same service wise if they just had a guy named Peggy fielding calls from Siberia.

yea i need instructions for this!

I ordered mine on the 7th (10am in store) and it still says pending shipment and backordered :(

My dad used his business discount card, idk if its premier or not lol

This. about an hour ago.
