AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

ATT order via phone

Yesterday my 16GB black and 32GB black both showed backordered. This morning, only my 32GB shows backordered. I have a zero in my 'backordered' column now for my 16GB.

Cautiously optimistic.
 
I ordered my Iphone 4s through Premier phone customer service on Friday around 12:30pm eastern time.

I have not had any effects on my credit card, but that is understandable. Small local bank.

My status is "in progress" and nothing is backordered.

I ordered a black iphone 4s 16gb.

I have Premier - my confirmation email said delivered by Oct 14. My status says Backordered but it also says Pending Shipment...

Last year, I didn't get any word from ATT until the day before I got the phone. It shipped overnight. I wouldn't panic, they obviously do things a little differently than Apple, but you'll still probably get your phone on Friday.

That sounds like yours if further along than mine. My email confirmation said Oct. 14th...but when I check the site for status it just says "processing", and if I log into my account and check order status, I still see BackOrdered and "Processing".

Sounds like yours is further along than mine...I should give them a call and see what's up :mad:

Agreed. I ordered my 3GS over the phone to AT&T Premier. I don't even think I knew the order number/tracking. It arrived on launch day at 9:30am.

Same thing here, ordered from Premier at 6am friday...

My payment has also not been processed which worries me because i used my wife's credit card
 
I hate AT&T.

I ordered one 4 hours into launch day.

Order confirmed then get the email saying insufficient funds on the credit card (i have $8000 in available credit). Call my credit card company to confirm it wasnt fraud protection. I put on a major purchase alert. Att runs the charge again, confirms the transaction, then get the an email one day later saying insufficient funds again. Repeat the process, confirming the charge, then get another insufficient funds again. FU att.
 
i didn't get around to placing an order, but now i see a pretty long wait on the ATT site: 3-4 weeks.

i have unlimited data.

i am assuming that i need to order it directly from ATT to continue my unlimited data, and that if i buy it from apple, i will not be able to continue with that data plan.

is that so?

if i order one from ATT, i assume that i can still try to buy one from an ATT store, and cancel my online order, if i get one.

is that correct?

I ordered mine through the AT&T store in my local mall on Fri morning just after 10am EST (mall opens at 10). I did it that way and had them place the order for me just because I was concerned about being able to keep my plan, since I'd been reading horror stories here on MR about people trying to order online and not being able to keep their unlimited data and/or texting plans. I wanted to retain my unlimited data as well as my 1500 texts/month plan, along with my FAN discount so I went to the store.

They took excellent care of me there, and I got 2 emails later that day. One was from the sales person and basically a "Thank You" letter for coming in. The other was a link to check order status.

At first it said "In Process/Pending Shipment" and had everything as "Backorder". But now it says "In Progress/Pending Shipment" and it doesn't have anything on backorder anymore.

I also have a pending charge for the full amount of $423 (for 64GB black) on my credit card right now too.

My only thing is I told them to ship it to the AT&T store so I can pick it up when it arrives. They offered to ship it directly to me, but I told them not to do that, because if it arrives on a Fri during the day, there's a pretty good chance nobody will be home, since everybody works during the week. Hopefully they have it ready for me by Friday.

There should be a separate thread made for orders directly from Apple. It is too confusing otherwise to see people talking statuses when you are not sure if they bought from Apple or AT&T.

I think the thread is for those whose carrier is AT&T. There is no *sticky thread* for those who ordered from Apple's website. Therefore, people are just posting in their appropriate carrier, which is how I'm interpreting this. (i.e. if you are a Verizon customer who ordered from Apple you'd post in Verizon's Pre-Order Status Thread)

Ordered my 64GB, White at 1:45am (PDT) on Friday morning. The charge ($465 and some change) posted to my credit union by 10:00 am Friday morning.
AT&T order status page shows "processing" for the "various SIM," "FREIGHT," and "APPLE 4S WHT 64 GB PHONE."
I've checked UPS for tracking, using my phone number; no luck there.

This thread will drive me crazy and be the cause of my "falling behind at work."

Disagree. The method of Apple.com order is completely different than ATT and the sole reason for using these threads is to see/track where others who used the similar process are. We all know Apple.com already started shipping their orders. Lets not just assume things here, there are several Apple.com threads around

You should be able to select your unlimited plan through the online Apple store. I was half way through the process there, before that site shut down on me, and was able to select the "unlimited data, $30" even after another page warned me that I couldn't have it and would have to select another data plan.
 
This is CRAZY

I ordered my 4S from ATT's website around 4:15-4:30Am (East Coast Time) and I ordered my mom's through Apple's website around 5:30Am (East Coast Time). I go to check ATT's site, mine is still processing (switched from backordered two days ago) and I go onto Apple's website and her phone is able to be TRACKED. Her UPS information is there and it's scheduled for delivery on the 13th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad: She's never had an Iphone and will not knoiw how to use it until I teach her. This isnt fair lol :eek:
 
Signature to Receive?

Ordered 64GB Black phone from AT&T site at 4:00 am eastern on Friday and the status has changed from "backordered" to "Pending Shipment."

Have seen several people write that UPS will be the carrier. Does anyone know if we need to be there to receive? UPS leaves amazon packages almost everyday at my house without signatures. Just not sure if Apple/AT&T makes UPS require a signature for the iPhones.
 
I ordered mine Friday morning at my local AT&T store, but I am still showing backordered. Hopefully that changes in the next couple days! Really want the 4S!

Ordered late night on Friday 10/7 - kicking myself of not doing it early morning, but I was not sure about unlimited plan for data, so I waited and researched first. My bank account shows amount pending, but ATT shows the order "backordered" without any dates, so I have no idea it will come in a week, two or even later :confused::eek::mad:
BTW, I am getting 16gb, white

I believe Apple/ATT does require a signature. I know that Apple has a feature online where you can pre-sign for it through their website but i'm not sure if all the other carriers have the same feature on theirs.
 
My order status still says prepared for shipment. The ups trick from another thread brings up no results for me either. I'm not too worried it says delivers by the 14th so I'm sure it will update soon.
