So who wants to call AT&T Premier lol

I would, but I had to place my order through the regular consumer site since theirs was not letting me add a data plan to a 4S, and I wanted to get the order in ASAP. After I get the phones I can call them to have the discounts applied to my account.

I'd be interested if anyone ordering through AT&T, Premier or Consumer, gets a tracking number like the folks who ordered through Apple.com.

Ordered 64GB Black phone from AT&T site at 4:00 am eastern on Friday and the status has changed from "backordered" to "Pending Shipment."

Have seen several people write that UPS will be the carrier. Does anyone know if we need to be there to receive? UPS leaves amazon packages almost everyday at my house without signatures. Just not sure if Apple/AT&T makes UPS require a signature for the iPhones.

Every time I receive an order through UPS I never have to sign for it. They ring the door bell, pound on the door a couple times and then they are gone lol! The benefits with UPS is that I see them sometimes delivering late at night like around 10pm or later sometimes. I never see a FedEx truck after 5pm, at least in my location.

Copied this from another post and it worked

Copied this from another post and it worked. I ordered the 64GB White iPhone 4s and it says that it is in Hong Kong right now.

Hey guys, here is a trick of how to find your iPhone order even if Apple hasn't sent you a shipping confirmation. First, your iPhone 4S order has to say preparing for shipment though. Last year when I ordered the iPhone 4 someone in the MacRumors forum showed everyone how to find their shipment. Apple usually ships via FedEx or UPS so in order to find your iPhone 4S shipment all you have to know if your phone number and zip code. Here's what you do:

1. Go to FedEx or UPS.com
2. Find where it says track by reference.
3. Type in the required information, primarily your phone number associated with your order.
4. You should see your shipment as long as your order status says "Preparing for Shipment"

Iphone 4S

I ordered mine about 530AM EST and I have been in shipping status backordered until this morning, then it changed to to Processing. I have spoken to ATT a few times and they assured me that I will have it by the 14th. They claim everyone who pre-ordered before 4pm EST will have the phone by the 14th. Anyone who ordered it after that time will have to wait approximately 2 weeks longer. They also stated that the site will not have any shipping information until the device is physically shipped and you will receive an email notification at that point.

As far as unlimited data goes. They read me the unlimited data plan guidelines and it stated that anyone who has unlimited data and upgrades from an iphone to an iphone will be able to keep the unlimited data plan. However, if you change devices then you will not be able to keep the unlimited data. I.E. blackberry to iPhone...

Did you order from AT&T or from Apple?

My order status still says prepared for shipment. The ups trick from another thread brings up no results for me either. I'm not too worried it says delivers by the 14th so I'm sure it will update soon.

I think the reason why Apple has already started shipping is because they ship from China. The phone carriers ship from the U.S. so the process starts a day or two later. Would anybody agree?

Wow, I can't believe they knew information and were able to give it to you.

When I call the person is always very nice, just clueless.

I ordered at 9AM in a AT&T Store and was also backordered till this morning.

Interesting hypothesis. That would mean the carriers got their shipments last week. Hmmmm, don't know about that....

This is NOT true - I had unlimited on my blackberry and I will have unlimited on my iPhone 4s - it is on my order form as:

iPhone 4S 32GB WhiteData Plan Unlimited for iPhone

Davie,
I had to call about 10 times before I finally got someone who knew anything. Then yesterday I called and spoke to customer service about my bill and that person was able to give me reliable information. If you call the online store you will get someone that knows nothing and barely speaks english. All they could tell me is I should have the phone by the 14th. Try calling about your bill, then just ask that person when they say do you have any more questions..

Ordered mine via the AT&T "Upgrade" App on my iPhone 4 at 4:03am on the 7th. Received a Confirmation that the order was "in process" within 3 minutes, then 47 minutes later I received a 2nd email indicating there was a credit card problem and my order was not being processed. Had to wait until 8:00am to call the CS number listed. The wait to speak to a representative was interminable (over an hour!) and it took another 37+ minutes to resolve the problem (my credit card company placed a "stop" on the transaction because it was from a website, had an initial $1.00 hit followed by a $319 hit and because it was in the middle of the night...triggered their "fraud alert" reaction). Once it was resolved, I received a "Congratulations" Confirmation letter within 3 hours.

Following the tracking link, AT&T's opening page indicates "Pre-ordered devices will ship on or around Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011," and my order is listed as "Shipment Pending."

oRDER

I ordered it early morning friday around 9am, my order date says the 8th...its pending shipment but I dont understand why it would say that i ordered on the 8th

Oh yeah!

Ordered a 64GB Black at 12:47am from Apple Store.

Current Apple Order Status on website says "Preparing for Shipment"

No email from Apple.

Used the UPS track by reference trick posted elsewhere and got shipping number.

Used iShip Track it website and got:

10/10/2011 9:24:00 PM IN TRANSIT TO LOUISVILLE, KY US
10/10/2011 9:23:00 PM DEPARTURE SCAN CHEK LAP KOK, HK

10/10/2011 5:07:00 AM ORIGIN SCAN SHENZHEN, CN

Oh yeah! On the way to States Side!

Also the UPS website states: Scheduled Delivery: Friday, 10/14/2011, By End of Day

Good luck all!

I placed my order at 4:00AM CST on friday morning, considering AT&Ts and Apples site were both having issues I thought that I had gotten my pre order in rather early. My credit card has been charged, but I have not seen any change to my order since I placed the order and it says back ordered....can I still expect the "Delivered October 14" to be true?

Screen shot of my order status:

How do you get to that status page? I am premier and I saw that page early on, but now I can only see the orange AT&T order page, not the aqua one. I ordered 32gb white and 32gb black at 5:15 am EST and mine says backordered/processing still! Nothing has changed.

it seems

it seems that the apple store orders are shipping the fastest, dammit shoulda ordered from them.

I ordered mine through Apple.com and it still hasn't shipped, so don't be too jealous. We should all get it on the 14th anyways so who cares.

Wife's 16GB Black iPhone 4S shipped and is in transit, ordered at 0630 Friday morning PST.

However, the 8GB iPhone 4 black, which I bought for my mom, still shows 'Processing Order'. This was done on Oct 4.

Ordered at my local AT&T store at 3:50 PM PST Friday, status is and has always been backordered.

Fingers crossed that I get it changes soon and I get it Friday or early next week.

Unlimited Data

The rumors flying all over this thread are blatant fabrications. AT&T's policy for grandfathered unlimited data is not contingent on the device. I know this from both reading their documentation online, as well as my upgrade from a crapberry 9700 to the iphone 4s. I was able to keep my unlimited data.

If you speak with a salesperson who doesn't allow you to retain your unlimited data, demand to speak to a manager. The morons who claim it is limited to "iphone to iphone" upgrades need to check their facts.

Side note: I am the IT administrator with my company, and I was able to sweet talk one of the sales reps into adding unlimited data to an iphone about 6 months ago because we already had unlimited data on our account, not that specific line. This may have been due to my southern charm, or because I didn't treat the lady like an insignificant peasant.

I will post the url to the AT&T policy when I get a chance.
