I'm getting different status depending on where I look. I ordered a black 64GB 4S early afternoon of the 7th from the AT&T site.

From the email I got from AT&T, it said it would ship within 14-21 days. The AT&T tracking website shows the shipment status as "backordered" but the item status of the phone, sim card and freight (whatever that is?) as "processing". Finally, logging in through my iPhone shows the status as "In Progress" and says "Pending Shipment".

Too many status places to look all using different terminology and sending conflicting messages! :confused:

Well I ordered on Saturday evening through AT&T. 14-28 day wait. FML.

I want one on launch day as bad as the rest of you (I'm here on this board obsessing over it....admittedly more than I should be), but the whole "FML" or "I'm stressing out over this"....wow, you guys need to get some perspective. It's just a gadget. There are much worse things in life to be waiting on....like your next meal.

Did anyone who ordered through AT&T Premier get a second email asking you to accept your Terms & Conditions? I talked with an online representative that said this needed to happen.

No I did not, however they told me that my terms and condition was already accepted since I did the order on the web. I think the terms and conditions is only if you order over the phone.

Nope, I do. But I'm able to put it in order of importance with other things going on in this world.

No I'm not stressing out at all actually. It just sucks that I won't be able to get it launch day. I didn't literally mean ******* my life, I'm screwed. I didn't intend to come off as some obsessive freak who's life is going to end because his phone isn't coming on time…..

My wife ordered through Apple, and I ordered through AT&T Premier. We ordered about the same time at 9:30 am Central last Friday. Her terms and Conditions were accepted at 9:30, mine not until 2:45 pm. The representative I talked to said our order priority was based on that time. Her order is pending shipment while mine is back ordered. That's pretty frustrating.
 
I ordered my phone on Friday at 4:25 in the morning EST and I have gotten 4 confirmation emails since and my order is at pending shipment and everytime I get another email I hope it is a shipment email.

Ha! I thought he meant Family Medical Leave, you know, like telling his work his son or wife was ill so he could get his iPhone. I had to Google it...

Seriously, if they guy's life is in such condition over an iPhone, I would feel sorry for him... :eek:
 
Ordered 2 White 32GB 4s' through at&t (phone call) at about 830AM (PST) Friday.

Didn't get the confirmation email until 4PM (PST) Friday.
Says shipping in 14 to 21 days.

Status says pending shipment and backordered (1)

Hopefully I got it in in time. Does anyone know if your essential wait time should go off of the time you preordered or the time you received your conf email.
AT&T said they sold out at 12PM (PST) and I ordered at 830, but got the conf email at 4PM.

I hope it arrives this Friday.
 
I am hoping the '0' under my backorder column means things are moving forward and not being canceled.

AT&T lost my order!

I am on a family plan, and I am using another phone line on the plan to get the upgrade, and I will switch phones upon activation at the AT&T store. I had to call AT&T to place the order, and I thought everything was fine, since my credit card was charged for the new iPhone 4S and I was given an order number. I also accepted the terms and conditions from AT&T.
Now when I go online, the order number I received is invalid at the AT&T Order Status page, and the phone number will also not work to show the order.
I called AT&T and spent over 4 hours on the phone with different people, and it seems that the person who placed the order never completed it, and the order is "frozen" in a state where my credit card was charged, but the phone can not be shipped. Now, AT&T wants me to buy another phone, loose my place in line, and they will not refund my previous order over the phone. I need to take my credit card statement into an AT&T store and try to convince them that the order is messed up.
I'm pretty pissed off, and all AT&T offered to do was give me a $25 account credit.
 
Ive bought all Generations of iPhones on the first day, and the iPad 2 through ATT. Every one of them I tracked from China to the US. None of them came from the US directly. I actually get a kick out of tracking this stuff.

My first gen iPad didnt come from ATT, but it was tracked from China as well..


So I doubt anyones phones are currently in the US waiting for delivery on Fri.

If so, then :) :)

That sucks. I never order anything over the phone for the simple fact that you're relying on a human. Too much room for error.
 
I am sure this will get downvoted like crazy, but if you have an order number, and are in some state of progress, please don't call support just to hear them say something vague and unhelpful.

Some of us are still having issues getting our orders placed or corrected, and it is causing support lines to either not connect or have insanely long hold times.
