Just got of the phone with ATT Rep.
here is what she is telling me: "I can guarantee you sir that NONE of the iPhone 4S will be shipped from AT&T before Oct. 14. ATT will start shipping iPHone 4S on OCT 14 only as per Apple."

I told her other people already have tracking number and shipping emails from ATT that there orders are shipped from ATT.

she said "It is NOT possible Sir. I can Guarantee you that."

LOL.....this shows how ATT is keeping their employee without any knowledge of real world....LOL

AT&T does have multiple call centers across multiple states. I'm not defending AT&T, but that's a lot of employees to maintain and have correct information for. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the support staff was not as informed as the rest.
 
searching for the UPS tracking number format I found the following. Not sure how acurate it is, bu the 9th and 10th position is important for shipping method.

The first two characters must be "1Z".
The next 6 characters we fill with our UPS account number "XXXXXX".
The next 2 characters denote the service type:
"01" for Next Day Air shipments.
"02" for Second Day Air shipments.
"03" for Ground shipments.

I found the same page, but my "service type" characters are 13.
 
Woop! Just checked my order status and my phone is coming via FedEx! I was hoping for FedEx considering UPS comes around 2-7 PM here in New York depending on whether or not the truck driver decides to stop by my place early that day.

I m not talking about only one staff member here. if you read past 75 pages of this post...you will see lots of people saying same thing ab ATT staff.

It's just ATT system of not giving right information to staff members.

Next Day Air Saver can come earlier than 3-4:30. It just depends on the truck's normal time in your neighborhood.

UPS also has a new service called mychoice that lets you reroute the package to a UPS Store. UPS Store's typically have an earlier delivery time than most residences.

I frequent a local UPS Store and the employees said several people have called asking about having iphones rerouted to the store.
 
Shipped via UPS Next Day Air Saver according to the dissection of the tracking number. Coming to Ithaca, NY hopefully (had a billing address issue). Tracking doesn't work yet but WOOOOHOOOOO, so glad that the AT&T reps were pretty much all wrong.


Oddly enough, the "FREIGHT" on my order is still pending shipment and the whole order is still "in progress" because of it.
 
I just got another Order Confirmation from AT&T.

This time it has information on how to activate the phone, tutorial and some voicemail setup info.
It also had my tracking number on the right hand side, which still does not work.

Last year AT&T orders were delivered early, I guess this year it's Verizon? haha

That's what I was told too the other day. When I called today to check my status, she told me it's still in backorder and NO phones have shipped yet. Retards.
 
Perfect timing to switch to my first iPhone...RIM is having major global issues with their BlackBerry service and I can hardly make or receive phone calls @ this point

Ordered my 64 GB Black at 12:30 ET on the 7th. Still says back ordered. Is there anyone with an order time in the late morning or afternoon of the 7th on a 64 GB that says shipped yet?? It seems like all the 64 GB orders I've seen on here ( beyond some very initial early morning orders) haven't shipped yet. I'm wondering if the 64's are in a later bulk shipment than the 16's and 32's?

I'm in almost the exact same boat. I ordered a 64GB black mid-morning on the 7th. Still backordered.
 
I ordered around 9:30 AM EST

I ordered a 64GB black iPhone 4S around 9:30 AM EST by calling AT&T directly. (I woke up at launch time and tried ordering for an hour before giving up but nevertheless..)

I received the order confirmation the next day and have gotten this message ever since:

"OS001: We apologize for the inconvenience. We cannot complete your request at this time. Please wait at least 24 hrs from placing your order, before checking the status of your order online. If the problem persists, please call us at 1-888-333-6651 for further assistance. NOTE: An email may have been sent to your email address on file. Please check your email which may have additional information about your order."

I've tried calling the automated system and it was unable to locate my order, even after entering the Shipping Order Number.

If I try to log in to my account and view my orders I get this:

"E0019: No order was found. If you recently placed an order, please try again later. Note: Information for orders placed within the past 24 hours may not be available."

I have called and have spoken to a rep and they quoted me the 21 day time frame and the the order was in progress, even tho when I ordered it they told me it would ship the 14th and many people who ordered passed 10 AM EST friday are showing shipping tracking #s already.

I have no choice but to wait, I just was curious if anyone else was in the same situation.

I just checked the Business Direct order status page and it hasn't even updated yet.

All other methods show my order as shipped, so, yeah.

yup people have ordered the 64gb's past 4:00 pm est on friday, and already have there shipping #'s.

I finally got a tracking # from UPS, but when I go to there website to track my package, it says that it cannot be found? :confused:

Have you ever bought anything via the web before? This is quite normal for the first 24 hours after receiving tracking number.
