On topic, my status is showing up as "Preparing for shipment".
Next Day Air Saver can come earlier than 3-4:30. It just depends on the truck's normal time in your neighborhood.
UPS also has a new service called mychoice that lets you reroute the package to a UPS Store. UPS Store's typically have an earlier delivery time than most residences.
I frequent a local UPS Store and the employees said several people have called asking about having iphones rerouted to the store.
Take a quick spin through your neighborhood and try and spot the truck. I have done this before and gotten him to deliver my package on the spot.
Just wondering why people here ordered through AT&T? Even worse, through the so called Premier, which is anything but premier IMHO.
I ordered on Friday around noon on Apple.com and all of the iPhones (3) are set for delivery on 14th. Admittedly 2 of them shipped "late", yesterday (Wednesday) night but they come UPS Worldwide Express and they are scheduled for Friday. Also I only got email confirmation for one of them, but using the "phone number as a reference" trick I could find the other shipment too. The third one goes to a different address in a different state and it does not look as processed yet. I called Apple and they assured me it is set for Friday delivery and there are no issues. At 1800-MYAPPLE someone picked up the phone right away and has been very kind and sympathetic.
At the Premier store (I ordered a dumbphone for someone else on the family plan through them) they were claiming high call volumes and estimated 30 min wait times. Admittedly they were kind too when they finally picked up, no issues there.
Also my understanding is that folks not ordering through Apple.com are missing out on the opportunity to buy Applecare+. If it is worth buying is a different matter, however you can only buy it at the same time with the iPhone, and you can always change your mind and cancel it later but you can not change your mind and add it later.
yup people have ordered the 64gb's past 4:00 pm est on friday, and already have there shipping #'s.

Hey guys. Ordered my phone last friday around 12pm. Got the Tracking # this morning from ATT website and it says they're using Fedex. Went to Fedex and there is not reference to that Tracking number just yet. Hopefully it'll show soon.
Question to all. Do I have to be there to sign for the package? The problem I am facing is that I was stuck using the address that's under the wireless account but I don't currently live there, but my parents do. The real issue is that they won't be there when the package arrives. What should I do in this situation?

ATT's site is very convoluted, The premier site doesn't give me any information. The main site says it was shipped on the 11th and gives me a UPS tracking number that doesn't work.

Once your tracking info is available on the FedEx web site, you should be able to pre-sign for the package and accept the risk of having it left at the destination address.
