The reason why tracking numbers don't work is because they haven't been scanned or SHIPPED Again, they have NOT been shipped. All they did was create a label and slap it on the box. I have confirmed this with FedEx. They know a label has been created but they don't know where or by whom. This happens every year so they have an educated guess that it is iPhone orders. The tracking number confirms that a box does exist and is on hold until the 13th, Thats it. We will have to wait until later today or tomorrow for the tracking information to be updated. And because AT&T sucks at updating information, you may not be able to track it until it is already in your hands. I hope this helps people wondering why their tracking numbers don't work.
 
Personally I think that anyone who put an otterbox case on a iphone should have their phone taken away from them forever.

I am only have joking. I can't stand that sight of a huge ugly case hiding what is IMO the best looking smart phone around.


Drop that phone one time and it won't be the best looking smart phone around.
 
yeah, i ordered mine at 2pm. I saw some people who ordered Friday night and still have tracking information before me. :confused:

Same here. I've been on this for couple of days now and just like you i've seen at least 4 people have their iPhone shipping info even if they order passed 5pm. Keep the hope alive.
 
Att will NOT send out shipping emails until Oct.14

As told by a CSR. They said that they will only send the emails with the tracking information on Oct14 and may get them delivered as late as Oct.17, even if you preordered in the first minute or got your shipping information online. This s so terrible.:(
 
Anyone else notice that the black iPhone 4s ships via FedEx while the white ones ship via UPS? I have one of each coming to the house and was suprised to see the different carriers. I assume this is why there has been discrepancies between the white and black iPhone shipping information updates...

I have Tracking #'s for both my orders for white 4GS they are shipping Fedex.
 
Most people were trying to order through Apple but could not get orders to go through due to AT&T's verification system for Premier members. When ordering finally opened up, all you could do was make a reservation to come back the next day and order through Apple, while AT&T had finally started letting Premier members order through their website.

I wanted to order through Apple, but it just wouldn't let me, so I went with AT&T's site. My order is showing as shipped and should arrive Friday, so no worries here

I'm a "premier" member too but did not encounter any issue at Apple.com It's true I first tried maybe around 10AM or so EDT. There were some website hiccups, error pages etc, but with a little patience I was able to place my orders just fine. Only later that day it started to show "ships in 1 or 2 weeks", there was plenty of time however to order with "delivers Friday, oct 14". Yesterday at the Premier store the automated system was telling me though that new orders might take 21-30 days to ship :D

From my information, they have shipped, but aren't scanned at every stop they make like usual. They're scanned when they're shipped, and they're scanned when they deliver due to high demand.
 
White 32gb here. It was showing up as 'processing' until this morning. Now it shows shipping via UPS!
 
My wife and I upgraded one of our lines to an iPhone 4S at ATT.com early in the morning on October 7, 2011 (after all of the website issues were resolved), and received an email telling us that our order was received and our iPhone was expected for delivery on October 14, 2011.

Well, on a couple of websites I follow, I see all you guys receiving your shipping tracking numbers and we haven't heard a peep, so we decide to give customer service a call.

When we call, the CSR tells us that our order was never completed! I have the email to prove it, yet, I'm told it was never completed.

The worst part was that there was no explanation past that, no matter how much we pushed for one. It just wasn't completed!

She then offered to complete the order, but couldn't give us an estimated ship date. We eventually said 'screw it' and cancelled our order. She couldn't even give us a confirmation number for our cancelled order.

No email, no communication with me, no explanation. It just wasn't completed.

So I'm up early in the morning on "preorder day" and received a confirmation that the order was received and that our iPhone was reserved, only to find out 5 days later that this wasn't the case.

New phones have been ordered through Apple directly, and now we get to wait 2-3 weeks for the phone. I guess that's better than finding out 2 days prior to the expected delivery that your phones won't be coming.

Once again, the CSRs don't know anything. So many different answers given to different people in the past few days. Do not take anything they say as credible.

They all were saying "We do not get the phones in our hands to begin shipment until the 14th!" until today, when our phones have tracking numbers now.

Do not listen to them, and do not post anything they say.

Yes, I noticed this as well. My wife's white 32 GB shipped UPS on 10/12 and my black 64 GB shipped Fedex on 10/11. Weird, because I ordered the white one first.

Did the order show up on your ATT recent orders page?

from the past, i seem to remember AT&T sending them out Thursday overnight for Friday delivery. I wouldn't worry if you are like me and don't have a tracking number yet.
