I'm chatting with a CSR now, might actually be getting somewhere. I just boldly asked her why mine was backordered when i ordered before the cut off and why it says i ordered it on the 9th when i ordered it on the 7th before the cut off. She said she would research it further, which is more than i've gotten from the others. All the rest have just given me what appears to be a copy/paste response. :rolleyes:
 
Question: As mentioned I have a holiday starting tonight and can't use electricity until Saturday night. Therefore, I can't sign for the package on Friday, and they won't leave it. My tracking number has shown up but I can't receive any info. Is there anything I can do to waive the signature and not have to wait even longer to get/use my phone?
 
White iPhone 4S 32GB ordered within the first hour of presale from ATT.com, just received shipping notice with number. However, number has not yet shown up on UPS website, so not sure when delivery date will be.
 
Just wondering why people here ordered through AT&T? Even worse, through the so called Premier, which is anything but premier IMHO.

I ordered on Friday around noon on Apple.com and all of the iPhones (3) are set for delivery on 14th. Admittedly 2 of them shipped "late", yesterday (Wednesday) night but they come UPS Worldwide Express and they are scheduled for Friday. Also I only got email confirmation for one of them, but using the "phone number as a reference" trick I could find the other shipment too. The third one goes to a different address in a different state and it does not look as processed yet. I called Apple and they assured me it is set for Friday delivery and there are no issues. At 1800-MYAPPLE someone picked up the phone right away and has been very kind and sympathetic.

At the Premier store (I ordered a dumbphone for someone else on the family plan through them) they were claiming high call volumes and estimated 30 min wait times. Admittedly they were kind too when they finally picked up, no issues there.
*Forgot to add here that the Premier store just put my order on hold for further verification but it didn't seem as they were going to contact me about it. This has caused a delay of at least 2 days for the dumbphone, but probably longer because it is not shipped yet, although I called them myself yesterday and passed the verification they wanted. Compare that to overnight or 2 days shipping most carriers and cellular dealers offer.

Also my understanding is that folks not ordering through Apple.com are missing out on the opportunity to buy Applecare+. If it is worth buying is a different matter, however you can only buy it at the same time with the iPhone, and you can always change your mind and cancel it later but you can not change your mind and add it later.

Some of us are business customers (not just people getting a discount through work, but actual business accounts) -- Apple does not handle business/corporate accounts.
 
Got tracking numbers, but they surprisingly shipped from UPS, not FedEx (both white phones). No activity on the tracking though on UPS's site, still not found.

Anyone else notice that the black iPhone 4s ships via FedEx while the white ones ship via UPS? I have one of each coming to the house and was suprised to see the different carriers. I assume this is why there has been discrepancies between the white and black iPhone shipping information updates...

My white iPhone shipped with FedEx. I hate ups. I live in an apartment and the lady that works in the main office closes at 6 and she is the one who usually opens the main door when someone buzzes to try and come in. The UPS guy came at 8:15 and of course no one was there and I called to ask if I can pick it up Saturday and they said I should have called before 6 PM to make my request to pick it up my self.
 
Personally I think that anyone who put an otterbox case on a iphone should have their phone taken away from them forever.

I am only have joking. I can't stand that sight of a huge ugly case hiding what is IMO the best looking smart phone around.

I was thinking about the cases today too. Everyone was complaining that there was not a complete redesign on this iPhone.. Does it really matter since you slap a case around it and can't see the design anyway?

Okay, this lady said I accepted my terms and agreements on the 9th (odd because i never received anything past my order confirmation email on the 7th when i ordered the phone). this may be what has caused the delay for others as well!

Got it. That's too bad though, Apple should treat their corporate customers better, and/or negotiate with AT&T to let them do it.

exactly. I think only people who ordered over the phone were saying they had a problem with accepting that agreement. It doesn't make sense, I called her out, and now she said she'd look into it further again. :p
 
I work for a company that ships via UPS ground every day but I never knew about the tracking codes someone posted earlier. I decided to look at some of the orders we processed today and see if the tracking numbers had '03' as the 9th and 10th digits and all of the ones I checked did. With that said, it seems as though the tracking number codes are ligit.

The tracking number for my iPhone 4S has '01' as the 9th and 10th digits which would mean (according to those codes) it is shipping next day air. It's very possible we won't see any movement until late tonight/tomorrow but they will still be delivered on Friday. Hopefully they ship out today though so we'll get them tomorrow :)
 
ATT Rep: "The phone will be shipped as soon as we receive it from the manufacturer. We are showing up to between 21 to 28 days if not before."

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I am livid right now. I "accepted an agreement" i never got two days after i ORDERED the phone and now i have to wait a month??? UGH. First experience pre-ordering the iphone: RUINED.
 
maybe someone can help me out here. here are what my multiple (thanks at&t, for keeping it simple) screens look like.

note that the premier orders show a date of 10/7/11, yet my account screen shows 10/10/11.

do i have reason to call them and go ape@%#$?

A few people earlier were talking about the strange fedex tracking #'s that started with 5, then some revealed more: 502, now a couple posts back I saw someone's number that was 5023xxxxxxxx
mine is 502321xxxxxx
I thought I saw someone else say they called fedex and they said that their number was part of a bulk order and that we'd get new numbers later this afternoon. I was just checking to see if anyone else's number followed this same pattern... to confirm fedex's story....
(I just want to stop hoping the fedex site will update, and get a REAL tracking #)
 
Order Placed 10/7/2011-AT&T shows Order Placed 10/10/2011

I placed my AT&T order on line 10/7/2011, received confirmation 10/7/11 at 8:06am. For 3 days could not find status of order and called customer service. They advised order could not be found. At 8:00pm on 10/10/2011 received another confirmation email with original order number but it showed order processed on 10/10/2011. It is my understanding that this happened to anyone with an order number beginning with 1401. My order status shows backordered but no shipping date. When I call AT&T they have no clue and everyone gives you different answers. Did this happen to anyone else? If so, have you received any type of shipping information status. Very frustrated with AT&T and will never order through them again!!!
