are you premier? because i can only check my status in another page because when i click the check my order on my email it says there isn't an order with that number

Try logging in with your phone number then go to orders and check.

I believe it's, just that, a rumor. I've been a Premier customer for years and never got any preferential treatment at all. And all of my Apple pre orders have always be processed and shipped right along with everyone else's. As a matter of fact I did not get launch day delivery with my iPhone 5s, my Apple Watch and now my 128 gb space gray iPhone 6s Plus despite my efforts ordering online as soon as the site came up.
Well it wasn't anything we could see, just that orders (through AT&T's website - not Apple) for Premier seemed to ship first even though those customers ordered hours after other non-premiere customers that shipped later. It's all speculative here anyway since it's such a small sample of people that pre-ordered.

There is a lot more lead time for the shipments this year though. Mine came last year on 9/25 -- a week after launch day. Maybe that bodes well for this year.

I got the same thing., trading in a 128 in, but it showed on the att site to be a 16gb that I was trading in. I wouldnt worry about it at this point.

Is this the text people are getting? Came in about 2.5 hours after I ordered. 1 128GB 6s, and 1 128 GB 6s Plus.

AT&T Free Msg: We've received your order xxxxxxxxxxxxx and we'll let you know as soon as it ships.Go to www.att.com/checkmyorder to check order status.

My wife and I both preordered on Next. We are currently on Next since last Sept.

I have a 128gb SG 6 and my wife has a 64gb white 6. But ATT listed both our trade in phones as 16gb white 6.

It doesn't seem to affect our monthly payment for the new phones, but it is a little worrisome, as the phones they get from us will obviously not be 16gb.

Anyone else seeing this glitch?

Same here. I have an iPhone 6 64GB Space gray and it showed that i'd be trading in a 16GB. Hoping that it doesn't screw anything up when I go to ship my 64GB back...

Probably a system glitch. They charged me the full price for my phone.

My card was charged yesterday morning. Anyone else? I have never been charged so early for a pre-order.
I have a $320.99 and a$534.99 in my Pending Transactions sections of CreditCard activity. These transactions correspond with the 2 phones I ordered. But, there is another $499.99 pending transaction that I am puzzled about

No offense but I've heard this and many other theories but with no proof. It's possible but the truth is without the carriers the iPhone is nothing. Apple makes their money no matter who sells them.
I believe the carriers and other retailers get the phones at a discount, otherwise, how do you explain best buy, walmart etc selling them below their advertised price?
There was a memo from Tim to Apple employees couple of years ago where he emphasized that they need to sell more phones in Apple Store. Reason being, they get to keep all the profits on the sale and not share it with carriers/retailers.

I ordered a 128GB Space Grey iPhone 6S Plus... and AT&T is saying my phone won't be delivered till ~October 23. Should I cancel the order through AT&T and instead order via Apple?

I think you're better off sticking with AT&T. Shipment dates through Apple are estimated at 3-4 weeks already.

This isn't a theory. I work for a wireless carrier. I know how things work. Apple fulfills orders first and it's not the same amount of $, carriers get a discount. And it's not a theory that for years, people don't get phones on launch day that ordered on or even before 3am.

I wouldn't. The october dates are placeholders as far as i'm aware as the same thing happened to me last year. Had a date that was like 2-3 weeks after launch and I still ended up receiving my phone on launch day. The dates for the shipment didn't even update till the day before release.

That is correct pokerplayer. Apple of course will do it's best to try to fulfill pre orders from carriers hence why some folks do get phones on launch day but many won't which is why ATT gives such dates because it can very easily be true. And getting a text message saying your order is processed or if your card was charged doesn't guarantee your phone on launch day. Most charges will drop in the next week and then be recharged when the order ships. I've been a macrumors user since 2005 and I work for Verizon and worked with AT&T . I know how this works..lol

So your previous orders with AT&T - You didn't receive them on launch day? how far past launch day until you received them? In october? (geeze I hope not)
