Just an FYI

I have ordered from ATT for the last 3 iphone releases within minutes of prelaunh startingtime. In each case the shipping date was sometime the following month. In each time i receive my phone at my home on launch day.

This happens every year. The date will move up to release date if you ordered around 3 AM EST.
Yea I don't get how people don't see that. No one who ordered even 10 min before actual release date got a September date. It's all just for caution.

So I had a really weird experience. I know my line was eligible for an Upgrade via next. I made sure that both my phone and my wifes phone had made the 10 payments required on the "Next 12" to upgrade. Earlier that day i checked my upgrade eligibility and we were both good to go.

Now on launch "morning" i wake up, wipe the crust out of my eye and have both AT&T and the apple store open. We all know by now that apple.com didnt open up until WAY after 3am. So i went to AT&T...I signed into my account and want to do the upgrade, got all the way until the end and I get the error message. "your device is not eligible for trade in"..With that being said i hopped on my ipad, and ordered both mine and my wifes phone using AT&T next upgrade.

Did anybody else have a similar issues?

Saturday morning I did two orders with AT&T Premier. The first (6S, Rose Gold, 64GB) went through fine, got both emails and last night the text. This order says preparing to ship.

The second order (6S, Space Gray, 64 GGB) I never received the second confirmation, so I called Saturday afternoon and I was given the run around. I still haven't received a confirmation email or a text, and it hasn't progressed to preparing to ship. I call again this morning, and after being hung up on three times, I finally got an answer that yes there is something wrong with the order, but they don't know what. So it has been escalated and I'm waiting for a call back.

I had to order through AT&T to receive the subsidy. Hopefully I'll actually get a call back. Grrrrr

The whole thing is a joke. I am grandfathered with an unlimited plan like many of you, so my only choice this year was to begrudgingly order from AT&T. Every other year I have dealt with Apple with no problem, and now there is a high likelihood of getting the phone WEEKS after the major carriers. The whole thing rubs me the wrong way, if you are going to force me to order from you I expect a similar wait to other carriers. Once they get rid of the subsidy on the phones, I am almost certainly out.

This is why they are making it harder on you to upgrade; hoping that you will eventually give up and get off the unlimited plan. You would psychologically attribute that action as your choice, and would not get mad at AT&T and leave. Look at the number of people around here, who were fervently for the UDP a couple of years ago, and now are evangelizing mobile share plans?

I was told to chat back within 48 hours if the shipment date has not been adjusted to a more accurate date. I did just that and the person who I was chatting with, named Cody, told me that they don't have any information on the availability of the iPhone 6s Pluses. He simply told me that AT&T will start shipping on the 24th, and that there is a possibility that we'll have to wait until October to get our orders in the mail. Still lost in the dark...

I chatted a different person for good measure.

This time, I got this:
"Colton B: Oh, I see. I'm afraid that the demand for the 6s was so intense, that these shipping dates are more than likely correct. I'm extremely sorry for the delay on that, but about more than 5 million units were ordered in the period of 5 minutes, so the stock status was almost immediately depleted and a ton of orders were put on backorder."

This is pretty concerning because every employee seems to have a different response as to why people who placed an order with AT&T for an iPhone 6s Plus have shipment dates for mid October. I'm not even sure what to think at this point.

They say the same crap every year. They have know idea I'm convinced and tell you what they think is accurate but it's often not at all.

Go easy on the agents. They have no information to really give. I tried mightily to get info out of AT&T last year through a number of sources to just get an idea of what there process was for fulfilling orders and got no answers.
And the agents are probably dreading the next two weeks because they know the pre-order and the crazy around it is going to drive calls pretty hard. They sit there realizing they know as much as you do but that you will be irritated by their lack of answers. If you must call, be sweet and be understanding.

This is all I've ever found and it's video about the 3GS and AT&T's distribution center.

I did not think about upgrading my 6 but have been thinking about it. Is it safe to assume the ATT ship date that shows up as sept. 24th is a glitch?

It'll likely move up even if you ordered by sunrise or later. Heck I ordered my iPhone 5 at 11am est and still got it on launch day. They tell you orders are fulfilled as they are received but I don't buy it. I'd say they're fulfilled in the order they're processed and that's a tangled chain of processes for ATT apparently.

Good news is your right I'd say. Most people will get their goods on the day. It's been my experience since iPhone 4

Has anyone noticed Odd Order numbers? I don't know if it means anything, but mine (ordered at 6am CST on 9/12m 4 hours after launch) is in this format: ###-A##########

My buddy's, who got in right at 2am CST is in this format: ############

Maybe this is some indication as to who got in in time? Like I mentioned in my previous post, his is already "Preparing to ship" while mine still stays "In Progress"

Take it with a grain of salt. There very first people, who ordered before 12:01PST, got Oct shipping dates, and every year most people get Oct shipping dates.

If you order a 6 you might get lucky. The 6 Plus is usually the most popular, especially in SG 128GB and slips to October delivery quickly. When I checked Apple's website yesterday, the 6S Plus Gold 64GB was still available for in-store delivery for the 25th, but the SG 128GB showed "2-3 Weeks". Depends on what you're looking for.

I kinda had a similar issue. one of my lines was eligible for an upgrade for a 2 year contract. I checked 2 days prior just to make sure. On launch day I went on att website and i wasnt given the option to renew for another 2 years. Only had the no commitment option charging me the whole price of the phone. So i checked one of my other lines that i had opened 8 months ago and that one was eligible for a 2 year contract at the discounted price??? So i placed my order using that upgrade which i don't know how that one was eligible since it was opened 8 months ago. But now i have a problem where it shows that the first line that was eligible was renewed for another 2 years as well as the line i used for the upgrade which was opened 8 months ago.

Check forums from last year's pre-order fiasco.....some people will get their goods on launch day but saying MOST is completely false. I ordered at 2:55AM for the 6+ and I did NOT get it on launch day and most people DIDNT.

ATT store rep told me that the upgrade is linked to the number not the hardware of course. If you ordered a new phone it'll say the line is at a 2 year contract even though you don't have the phone yet.

Also the hardware linked to your acct might not show correctly. A lot of folks are stating that it's showing a 16gb phone under contract when that's incorrect. I have a 64 gb phone and it shows 16

There shouldn't be any indication on that. Mine is ###-S########## and it shows preparing to ship now.

Most people who frequent this forum got their phones on the day. I'm well aware of this. I've been following these boards since the iPhone 4 launch. I stand by my statement 100%

The forums generally reflect people complaining. Those who get their phones fade away. Also your 6+ specific. Not everyone ordered a 6+. Apple was selling the 6 also.

i feel like this happens every year........ then everyone gets their phones on launch day.....

I got a text message from AT&T at 7:18 PM CST yesterday, saying "Congratulations! Your order has been processed. You will be notified when your order has shipped."

I ordered a SG 64 gb 6s+ at 3:24 AM CST which is 1:24+ from when the preorders started. My wife's RG 64gb 6s+ was ordered at 3:58 AM. We both got those texts within minutes of each other. Both still have an expected ship date of Oct 16-23.

I'm almost certain that the October delivery date for the 6s Plus is nothing more than a conservative estimate. When I preordered a 6 Plus via AT&T Premier last year, I was told that the phone would ship in 14-21 business days even though I ordered as soon as preorders began. I didn't receive the phone on launch day (September 19), but I received it the following Monday (September 22). I'm not saying that we'll all have our 6s Pluses on launch day, but I also don't think we'll be waiting until late October as AT&T is estimating.

That's good news. What time did you order? and when did you get your Text?
I placed order just 30 seconds before 3am. It was in progress until this morning I checked through ATT website under my account. The order is under my wife's number so that's probably why I didn't receive any text. I just check it daily.
