By preparing to ship does it mean the following? Or did your order status switch to "preparing to ship"

Order status:
In progress
We're preparing your order, and we'll let you know once it's ready.
Your order is being prepared for shipping.

Yup, preparing to ship here. I feel like that means little more than that the order has been fully processed.

What is the difference, if any, between ordering from ATT instead of Apple. I ordered from ATT because I had to renew contract. Once they ship it do I not ever have to deal with them for anything other than billing/sim card?

If you have a grandfathered unlimited data plan, you have to order the phone from ATT to keep the unlimited data.

Ordering from the Apple Store only allows you to pick "pay in full" or "ATT NEXT"'phones.

AT&T's shipping estimates on the mobile app are 9/24 for most 6S except RG 16/64. 6S Plus are 10/20-27 and 10/27-11/3.

I ordered RG 6S Plus 128 at 10:30 PM and I'm 10/23-10/30.

I ordered a RG 6S Plus 128 around the same time on Verizon and the deliver by date is 10/14. For Black 6S Plus 128, the deliver date is 10/7.

3-10 days after launch, don't ever do ATT again if you want a launch date phone....
Keep in mind Renho -thousands of us HAD to use ATT for 2yr contract renew or grandfathered unlimited plan. Apple dropped support for those two in their ordering systems. :(. People aren't foolish. We saw what happened last year with the 6 Plus at ATT. If we had the option to use Apple, we would have.

Those of you really freaked about your ship date, if it doesn't change to launch day by next Thursday or Friday - just go wait in line at a BestBuy, Target or RadioShack on launch day. They will have "some" 6S Plusses. Get there early. Then if you get one - cancel your order with ATT by refusing shipment. You won't be able to cancel online. And you'll be tying up more $ on your credit card until you get your refund from ATT. But if launch day is your highest goal, and, believe me, I know the "drug", then you do have an option to get a phone no matter what - maybe.

I ordered 2 iPhone 6s 64 GB Space Gray using ATT's website. One at 3 AM EDT and one at 8 AM EDT (after I realized BOTH my lines were eligible for 2 year upgrades - which was shocking) on pre-order day.

Both are still on target to ship 9/24.

I haven't heard of ANY 6S, any variety, that's not on target for launch day. In fact you can preorder right now - still today a 6S and get one on launch day. It's only the 6S Plus' that are sold out and maybe back ordered.

Ah, that makes sense. Glad I finally had interest in the least popular version of the phone. Struggling to get one each year has become tiresome (though the hunt CAN be fun)...

I don't see myself ever going 5.5, even though it looks great. Just not practical for me.

If you want either of these two choices, you can order from Apple and your plan with ATT remains unchanged.

Yea it's just the plus. Which leads me to believe like last year now they are preparing for worst. Maybe they thought shipments wouldn't be available

For what it's worth, I ordered my 6S+ 10 minutes after preorders went live on Friday night and got the same shipment dates as everyone else. I ordered 3 more Monday afternoon at the AT&T store, and they got the same ship dates as mine did. The date isn't real, it's just a place holder. If you ordered on Friday night, quit worrying so much.

They picked a horrendous placeholder date, lol.

I know thats why i said "if you don't have to" in my message before. Can i just say thank god for "NEXT"

Does anybody here know if ordering iphone 6s on Apple's website with a prepaid AT&T account (go phone) is possible if one chooses to pay in full? Has anyone done that?

As I mentioned on this thread a bunch of pages ago, because of AT&T's new term with Apple, only existing AT&T account holders who either pays the full retail or chooses the Next can order on Apple and all new customers who wants to order A1633(AT&T) has to order from AT&T directly.

Just wondering if I could get a gophone account and order with that account on apple.

No, you cannot pre-order with a pre-paid ATT account. There is not a single possible way.

I also heard that they had problems, again with the screens of the 6+. That they switched manufacturers to get more produced. That and China being added will slow the process of people getting what they want....

Same story as everyone else. I ordered 2 6s+ 128 GB in space gray. I have both the "in process" and "preparing to ship" status depending on where you check. Ordered before midnight on AT&T's website and received immediate confirmation emails. Same as last year. Shipping date will likely move up and the phones will arrive the morning of or a few days after launch.

If my ATT order doesn't ship to get the phone on launch day I will probably keep my order with Apple and keep that phone when it arrives on the 25th. While my order with ATT was for the 2 year upgrade price, paying full price through apple allows me to get the phone unlocked right away and the resale value should be pretty good next year when I would be paying full price either way. Sure I'd like to save a few bucks but when I sell my current 6 plus it won't be as bad paying the difference.

Hey all!

Like most of you, my pre-order from ATT (two iPhone 6s's) switched to preparing for shipment. I checked my AMEX account, and I had both orders (299+tax, etc) showing up in the hold column. Today, they disappeared from the hold column, but they haven't been charged yet either... Anyone seen this? Have any idea why?
