Hey all!

Like most of you, my pre-order from ATT (two iPhone 6s's) switched to preparing for shipment. I checked my AMEX account, and I had both orders (299+tax, etc) showing up in the hold column. Today, they disappeared from the hold column, but they haven't been charged yet either... Anyone seen this? Have any idea why?

Because the phones haven't shipped yet, the pending charge is falling off. This is normal, and has been expected and predicted by many in this thread. When it ships it will reappear. Do not be alarmed.

They were pre authorizing your card to make sure it has enough for the purchase and now those pre authorizations have cleared. You will be charged the full amount once they ship your phone (the $299+tax).

Because the were just preauthorizations. They will reappear when it ships

My hold was removed too. If you ordered the 6s instead of the 6s Plus you are probably in better shape than me, as most 6s devices are still available on the AT&T site for launch day. However, many 6s Plus variations are being pushed out to the 1st week of November.

You have the 6s, you will get it on launch day. Only the 6+ will be delayed.....Yes they charge it at first to make sure money is in there, the charge stays in there for a couple days then goes away. They will charge your card again when they ship the phones so like the 23rd or 24th you will see the money come out.....

Hope it's not delayed.

Lol I bought a 6 Plus case last month since I knew I would be up sizing my 6 to the 6s Plus, and rumors were pointing to cases fitting.

What is the difference, if any, between ordering from ATT instead of Apple. I ordered from ATT because I had to renew contract. Once they ship it do I not ever have to deal with them for anything other than billing/sim card?

I would imagine that you would not unless you are experiencing a problem or some other difficulty.
Other than great customer service (Apple, of course) I don't see any other difference in purchasing a phone from either one. Oh, yeah and of course the supply issue (Apple having more stock/models).

Yes, I read the same thing about 6s Plus cases being the same, fit, as the 6s. I think that'w what you were talking about.
When I heard that I bought Apple's 6 Plus leather case.
Now, if you're talking about 6 cases fitting the 6s Plus then it won't fit.

Same story as everyone else. I ordered 2 6s+ 128 GB in space gray. I have both the "in process" and "preparing to ship" status depending on where you check. Ordered before midnight on AT&T's website and received immediate confirmation emails. Same as last year. Shipping date will likely move up and the phones will arrive the morning of or a few days after launch.

Since you said like everyone else, does that mean your shipping date was October too?

I wonder what happens if the funds that were available when they did the pre authorization disappeared. Like maybe the person made another large purchase before their iPhone shipped.

3-10 days after launch, don't ever do ATT again if you want a launch date phone....
I just ordered a space gray 6s 64Gb on the Next plan (will trade in my 6) from the AT&T site, and I have an In Progress for delivery on the 25th. I avoided the pre-order day madness - been there, done that - and know it will come. I am having it shipped to my office because I will be away from home on the 25th. A few days later won't make any difference to the enjoyment.

The bank would decline the charge and the phone would not be shipped. Pretty simple. You may be notified when they get around to it......

The card will decline when they go to charge you to ship the phone. You'll be out of luck and someone next in the preorder line will get the phone they held for you.

Yeah that's what I meant! Bought 6 Plus case to go on new 6s Plus. Sorry, the animals were demanding their bedtime treats and I posted a bit hastily.

HAHAHAHA Thanks to the half dozen people who answered my question! Definitely wasn't worried, just curious! Much appreciated! Happy iPhone waiting! :)

Ordered the 6s plus 128g rose gold at 3:12am est with the oct 16-23 ship date. When I got onto AT&T at 3:06am est all of the 6s plus's were in the oct ship date.

I did the next program and there was a $1 pending charge that dropped off already. But since it's the next program and I'm not paying anything up front I'm not sure why the $1 was charged. Unless it was to see if the card number I gave them was active.

With AT&T Next, you will pay the tax up front. The $1 is just a pre-authorization. When the phone ships, they will charge you the tax on that credit card.
