Why would at&T not know how many phones they get. Its as simple as if they had left over phones (which lets face it they won't) they could return it to apple. I don't buy it.
Okay, Michael... what "do" you "buy"? What explains thousands of phones saying a back order date for a week after purchase and then suddenly changing a few days before launch to a launch day shipping date? Why would at&T not know how many phones they get. dude you are taking this to serious. This happens every year. The dates move up the week of. I'll just wait.Okay, Michael... what "do" you "buy"? Question to you too, SlipperyPete. Let's hear what you believe explains it. All ears..
Ok I'll speculate -- AT&T is allotted so many phones for the pre-order. Those seem to sell by 12:00:00:00000000000001 a.m. and then it moves to the second allotment with a later ship date and maybe they under-promise on the delivery date just in case. And maybe they don't update the process/website to streamline the information we get about the pending order because last year they didn't lose 100K customers because people were pissed their phones didn't come on launch day or when indicated in the order.dude you are taking this to serious. I think you are righ no one knows anything. AT&T is probably playing it safe due to the fact that last year the iPhone 6 Plus was sold out fast and there wasn't enough shipment.Ok I'll speculate -- AT&T is allotted so many phones for the pre-order. With AT&T the whole thing is so opaque it makes you wonder if anyone really knows the answers to these questions. For Apple, the manufacture/delivery of a British Sh*t-tonne of devices a few times a year is old hat by now. They have the process and infrastructure in place. For AT&T, or any of the other carriers, this is a once-a-year event and it's not worth their time or resources to make it a smoother process.
But it sure is great fun to hunt around here for a glimpse of what's going on behind the scenes!![]()
Yes but no one has a 25th date for a plus. That is impossible since people ordered it earlier than preorder went up.They probably gave AT&T a guaranteed number of phones for the pre order (probably a very small number especially for the 6s plus if any at all). Then the rest that they get is unknown until they come in. Every year when you go to AT&T and even Apple to find out about when phones will come in or stock that will be available it's always the same answer that they don't know what they will get or when they will get it till it comes in.
That's bs. Why even have preorders then. Maybe I will try and chat.So far she says the 10/16 to 10/23 shipping date for a 128GB 6-Plus in Gold is correct, and that Rose Golds are shipping 35 to 40 days out!
Don't know if she knows for sure but I'm just going to go by what she says and not expect my phone next Friday. It ain't no big thang.

Maybe Apple didn't guarantee any plus's for the pre order which seems crazy and hopefully not the case. This whole thing just seems like a big mess.Yes but no one has a 25th date for a plus. That is impossible since people ordered it earlier than preorder went up.
I got a late October estimate for the iPhone 6 Plus last year. Ended up getting it a week after launch.Did some AT&T customers last year get their Plus's later than the original estimate? If so, it's completely understandable they'd rather give a later estimate and *maybe* be able to fill early, rather than have angry customers again.
Has anyone had there Authorization expire for there iPhone 6s through ATT, Looked today at my credit card statement online, and it said my Authorization to ATT has expired. Please let me know.
