Also, for what it's worth, this guy has been trolling the official att.com forums with this same "story." Oh, and now his wife works for Apple and he still has that cousin at AT&T! Talk about connections.

Yep, we'll see. In the meantime, I'd suggest that everyone read the last few pages of the att.com thread that I linked to above to see what he provides as "proof." I wouldn't normally confront a troll like this, but this guy is so obviously full of s*** and it's really ticking me off. Just google his username and take a look at his Disqus profile for more instances of trolling.

Oh I know, I saw his posts. Honestly I don't really care why they are delayed, I'm just a bit upset that no one has been given any information from AT&T as to why every 6S Plus model is delayed.
I don't think anyone really cares if you are right or not, except you. What is your other account on MacRumors, or do you only come on here every few years to stir the pot up?
I'm sorry to call you out, and maybe you really do have some super-secret insight about Apple and AT&T, but I'm really just not buying it. If I'm wrong and you're right, that's fine, and I'll come back here next week and apologize. I have an AT&T 6s+ reserved at an Apple Store in addition to my AT&T Premier order. So if my AT&T order doesn't ship before launch day, I'll go into the Apple Store and pick up whatever phone they've reserved for me. If that phone ends up being a Sprint/Verizon/T-Mobile model that just so happens to work on AT&T, then I'll bite my tongue.
Just have to remember what's really important in life. At the end of the day, it's just a material object that isn't going to change anyone's life.

I don't think you are giving anyone excitement... What you are giving people is hemorrhoids, and it's hilarious. I am curious how childish someone has to be to go into multiple forums and post the same story to multiple people, regardless of truth.
If I knew some "inside information", I wouldn't post it on the Internet, unless I had some kind of inferiority complex, in which case that makes perfect sense.
Edit: Oh, I forgot to add that I work for a "major tech company" and I deal with insider information all of the time. I do not post it anywhere on the Internet, or tell my friends though. My life is fine without "being right" on the Internet forums.

All iPhones have identical antennas now. Ever since 6/6+. So I know your data is faulty somewhere. There is no such thing as a "Verizon" phone any more. All phones have gsm and cdma in them.
Lmao. Really only Apple and every other Carrier has the iPhone plus but AT&T got none because of a different band. And really Apple would sell a different AT&T phone. Oh please. That doesn't even make any sense. I think right now all we have are assumptions. Some people here have had their AT&T plus orders moved up too.
Not always. I am Premier but I am not a business customer. I have FAN discount and that puts you in Premier sometimes. We were just having fun with that other user.

So I`m assuming your cousin gave a job to your wife, who works somewhere high up in Apple to get all details about supply chain and reason for manufacturing constraints... You on the other hand just able to post online all this private information... Yep thats exactly what it is..
And yes makes total sense that ATT would ship one model, while Apple would ship another, and yes the apple website is 100% wrong when they list ATT model that they will sell you as A1633/34 http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ yes all of this makes TOTAL sense. It also makes sense that due to manufacturing issues Apple decided not to make any A1634 models until last minute, while supplying bestbuy somehow with that same model, which is listed for availability on the 25th.... All of this makes total sense to me now, I'm also going to go close on the brooklyn bridge I just bought...
They might all have GSM and CDMA, but the AT&T model supports one extra LTE band so is a different model. That does partly help account for why AT&T models may be delayed while all the other carriers are not. All the other carriers are using the more popular model, and it is possible Apple has more of that model manufactured already.
But Apple orders for AT&T have stock of the AT&T ones. I think this is all a mess.
It sounds like they may have limited stock of that model and they went to Apple and not AT&T. The shipping times were clearly stated at 3 AM on launch day, and people could have ordered from either place. A lot of us were in the situation where we wanted the two year contract pricing so we needed to order from AT&T.
You need to get caught up. Your spouting old 5S news.. All iPhones are identical now. Proof... When you order a factory unlocked phone from Apple they no longer ask for the carrier you will using it on. If the ATT phone were unique - you would be asked. For that matter when you go to an Apple Store they don't ask which carried before they go get the box either.. They do eventually ask you - because Apple stores require you to activate in store. Another silly rule of theirs. But it is what it is. Since the 6/6+ all hardware antennas necessary to accomplish a fully supported gsm or cdma data stream have been built it. In the activation process the various bands get turned on for Verizon, Sprint or ATT/TMobile. They're not inherent to a special and different phone model.
You need to get caught up. Things change and just because something was true last year doesn't make it true this year. This page from Apple's site mentions the two different models. I will believe Apple.com over your post. It is also well known on this forum that there is an AT&T model that supports LTE band 30.

Edit: the link didn't go exactly where I expected it too. You need to click "tech specs" at the bottom of that page to see a list of the models and which LTE bands they support.

Last year people had October dates and got earlier. Also are we 100% sure the AT&T model is different
Has anyone on att who made the deadline to get the phone for sept 25 see any order changes or tracking numbers? I ordered sat at 3:01am est got first email 3:02am second one 3:30pm my order been ready to ship since like monday the charge was on my card fell off no re-adding the charge no actually shipped yet.... Im reading other carrier forms every carrier but ATT has shipped the phones out atleast to my knowledge
