hopefully this is what some of you want to hear!

last year, I preordered my iPhone 6 Plus from att. I preordered it about an hour late due to the heavy traffic. I received the phone one day after launch day and the tracking information was emailed to me 2 days before that. so the day before launch day i received my shipping information. also, my estimated ship date was clear to November, and I still received it a day after launch day. att does ship within the US so most likely, they're waiting to see what they get FROM China before they update the estimated shipping information. I ordered my 6s Plus in rose gold about 10 minutes before preorders went live. I realize this is a little messy so here's a timeline of events from last year and why I'm not too concerned about it! ...

•Preordered iPhone 1 hour after preorders went live
•estimated ship date was November
•received shipping information 1 day before the iPhone's were for sale IN the Apple Store ..Thursday before release day
•shipping information was from within the US
•received my iPhone on that Saturday.

hopefully this helps some of you! they technically don't know they're volume until they receive the phone from China. the estimated ship date is the very latest you could receive it depending on where you stand in line.

That sounds promising however this time around there are supply constraints with the 6s Plus.
I'm not saying that it's impossible to get an earlier ship date, just improbable.
Anyway, thanks for the ray of light :)

This is what mine says:

"Order status:
In progress
We're preparing your order, and we'll let you know once it's ready.
Your order is being prepared for shipping."

Confusing, huh?

Oh yeah, my estimated ship date remains . . . Oct. 16 - Oct. 23
I still find it confusing that they use the statements "In progress" and "being prepared for shipping" in the same vein.

Why? In Progress is so vague and general that it could encompass every single stage in the process except Delivered.

Ask about later
Just off phone with premier escalation team and Twitter people (yea they called me). I am a premier through my company which has a relationship with AT&T. They told me two different things regarding my order and so the person from the Twitter is escalating to the "internal team" so we will see what happens. No one has mentioned anything about back lights or delays from something like that yet. I have the office of the president's phone number and email too and was going to reach out on Monday should all my issues not be resolved

My guess is that ATT won't update anything regarding 6S+s until they actually have them in their warehouse and can count how many there actually are. I'm sure they know how many they've ordered, but not how many will be delivered. And they probably won't be delivered to ATT until early this week. Once they find out the final number they'll start going through orders in order and changing the status. Some of us will get them on launch day. Others will have to wait until apple ships them more. Meanwhile we wait.

I believe this way of tracking your order may be more accurate. mine says "preparing to shop" when I track it this way rather than "in progress"

I don't think you are giving anyone excitement... What you are giving people is hemorrhoids, and it's hilarious. I am curious how childish someone has to be to go into multiple forums and post the same story to multiple people, regardless of truth.

If I knew some "inside information", I wouldn't post it on the Internet, unless I had some kind of inferiority complex, in which case that makes perfect sense.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to add that I work for a "major tech company" and I deal with insider information all of the time. I do not post it anywhere on the Internet, or tell my friends though. My life is fine without "being right" on the Internet forums.

So instead you go online and rant to feel superior?

I am not saying the ship dates won't change. It is certainly possible.

Here is an article about the unique AT&T model. All models will work with AT&T if they are unlocked, but this model has added support.
Thanks, Dave.. I do stand corrected. This has not been released anywhere. I'm usually way on top of this stuff.. But you were one step ahead of me this time.. What I knew is that today's iPhones will work on any carrier.. So many people don't know that..

I'm still skeptical of your other predictions of people "in the business" you say you know. But that article makes clear there are a couple models out there this year. Good to know..

I cancelled my order from AT&T and went through Best Buy. They are still giving me a September 25th in-store pickup date, and I am getting a $200 gift card, seems like a great deal to me. :)

I do hope the ship dates get pushed up for you guys though!

I am still holding out hope to get my 6S+ on the 25th. I ordered and paid at 3:07am CST.....got the delivery date 10/16-23. That is 7min after opening.

I used the AT&T app

My 6S which I ordered 10 min later than my 6S+ has delivery date of 9/25.

So I ordered at on 9/22 1:07am PST, but due to a website error my card was charged 5 times in 1 minute $2000 so Wells Fargo canceled the order. ... long story short after hours of phone complaining my order went through at 3:10am instead shows estimates oct 16... but still says preparing to ship. btw I did the 2 year commitment $399 Splus and originally it charged my card, but ever since they correct the error I haven't seen a charge anyone else have their card charged or see a date?

Sounds more like a combination of site error and impatience.

I ordered a iPhone 6S 128 GB last Thursday the 17th at around 9AM. Since ordering on the status page for the order it says shipping the 24th. And that the order is in progress. Will I get it the 25th or will I end up waiting? Any ideas is appreciated.

I have a premier account. I ordered a 6s 128 gb RG. I have a ship date of 9/24 and delivery date of 9/25( on confirmation email). Just cuz I have Sato masochistic tendencies I called att to get a status update. I spoke to a rep who did not know anything and was telling me that they will ship out the phone on 9/24 with 3-5 business day delivery. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me that IF they have stock at the warehouse on the 24th, it will ship overnight.

I mentioned in an earlier post it is my belief the AT&T orders are shipped from here in the USA so the tracking will be much shorter. Other carriers are shipping from China, so the delivery takes longer and the tracking information comes sooner.

These orders say they are shipping 9/24 and arriving 9/25. You can either trust that and relax or worry about it and repeatedly call AT&T and post here. If the ship date says 9/24 then don't expect tracking or any update on 9/20! If you want to devote yourself full time this week to worrying about shipping then you can pull up last year's threads and see the exact same story as far as shipping and other carriers reporting tracking sooner.

This is 100% true. If your order does not say 09/24 ship date by Thursday...you won't get it by Friday. This never changes.

I'm sorry to call you out, and maybe you really do have some super-secret insight about Apple and AT&T, but I'm really just not buying it. If I'm wrong and you're right, that's fine, and I'll come back here next week and apologize. I have an AT&T 6s+ reserved at an Apple Store in addition to my AT&T Premier order. So if my AT&T order doesn't ship before launch day, I'll go into the Apple Store and pick up whatever phone they've reserved for me. If that phone ends up being a Sprint/Verizon/T-Mobile model that just so happens to work on AT&T, then I'll bite my tongue.

Just have to remember what's really important in life. At the end of the day, it's just a material object that isn't going to change anyone's life.

Your presumption is that Apple will sell you a phone with an in progress order. Their connected to the carriers and they likely will not. So you will have to cancel your ATT order before you go.

Monday, 10AM, give us an update.. You have less than 24 hours. All on you, because you have the connections.

I ordered the phone at full price via AT&T and plan to purchase it at full price via Apple, if needed. Either way, there is no impact on my upgrade eligibility. I don't anticipate any problems. If the AT&T order doesn't ship by Thursday, I'll cancel it and head into the Apple Store at 8:00am Friday.

Is Best Buy's promotion only for new AT&T users, or existing users? Their website is a bit confusing with the information provided.

Let us know. I have an internal premier number so I might call them while working through another issue.
