hopefully this is what some of you want to hear!

last year, I preordered my iPhone 6 Plus from att. I preordered it about an hour late due to the heavy traffic. I received the phone one day after launch day and the tracking information was emailed to me 2 days before that. so the day before launch day i received my shipping information. also, my estimated ship date was clear to November, and I still received it a day after launch day. att does ship within the US so most likely, they're waiting to see what they get FROM China before they update the estimated shipping information. I ordered my 6s Plus in rose gold about 10 minutes before preorders went live. I realize this is a little messy so here's a timeline of events from last year and why I'm not too concerned about it! ...

•Preordered iPhone 1 hour after preorders went live
•estimated ship date was November
•received shipping information 1 day before the iPhone's were for sale IN the Apple Store ..Thursday before release day
•shipping information was from within the US
•received my iPhone on that Saturday.

hopefully this helps some of you! they technically don't know they're volume until they receive the phone from China. the estimated ship date is the very latest you could receive it depending on where you stand in line.

:)

Does anyone know what the carrier is that AT&T ships through? Is it UPS or FedEx? I ask cuz whether my iPhone gets delivered on Friday or the following Monday I won't be home more than likely, and so if the carrier is UPS, I found out I can request through UPS website a alternative delivery location. But if it's Fed Ex in going to try and set up the same thigh through them. Thanks to everyone on all the knowledge and expertise! Also, FYI don't mean to be a downer and hopefully I'm wrong but I spoke to an AT&T online shopping rep who told me it's unlikely I'd get my iPhone on Friday, more likely to be delivered on Monday. I preordered the iPhone 6S 128 GB Black.

yeah the customer rep from AT&T mentioned something about the chance it being either. I was just hoping maybe she really didn't know. I guess I'll find out when the tracking number posts to my order status page.

In my area Att is using FedEx all the time and this is really bad, since Fedex here worse than UPS.

t-mo guys have tracking numbers already.
t-mo preorder thread is 127 pages, here we have only 43. Att is loosing customers?

Yeah bro but thats okay. If minedoesnt ship by 9/24 I have some options like, going to att store or best buy early. I alredy confirmed that both will have iphone 6s plus on stock on launch day morning.
Didn't realize you were looking for the Plus. It does sound like AT&T has some idea when they will be available (10/16-10/23), but many people don't like that answer. There is also the chance the delivery will change to be sooner, and hopefully that happens for many of you all that ordered the 6s+. Good luck and hopefully you get the phone you want on Friday!

Talked to internal escalation team in Dallas. No help with regard to the phone shop dates or my account issues.

It does seem stupid. But I don't want to count on a 9/25 delivery just to not see it happen. I can wait if I have to.
I agree, if I have to I can wait. My iPhone 6S + 64GB Silver was ordered 15 minutes after pre-orders started and has had preparing for shipment since then. I finally chatted this morning and was told my Mid October ship date was accurate. What! I asked if orders will be filled as devices become available, you know first come first served and she said usually that is how it is done. So, chat was no help, hopefully launch date, but Oct 13th may be our fate.

If you WANT to guarantee an AT&T iPhone PLUS (NON Rose Gold Color), then cancel your AT&T order and it from best buy with in-store pickup for September 25th (Launch Day). You also get a $200 best buy gift card if you do this. You can do this on bestbuy.com , The one catch is that you have to use AT&T next. Still a good deal in my opinion and guarantees launch day availability in most stores.

I don't think anything with Best Buy guarantees launch day delivery. Every time I have had an order with Best Buy "guaranteed" for launch day delivery the phone has been delayed for weeks/months.

They don't like the answer because Apple and every other carrier seems to have had 6+ stock available.

This is insane, do not follow this advice (not trying to be rude to gopre). If you honestly think you're going to get an AT&T phone from Best Buy quicker than ordering it directly from the carrier (AT&T), then you're in for a rude awakening on Friday. Especially if you pre-ordered early Saturday morning. It's nonsensical to think that a phone ordered over a week later from Best Buy would arrive any sooner.

I feel like a broken record here, but AT&T does this every. single. year. Since AT&T stock piles these phones in their own warehouse, they don't give you a tracking number until 1-2 business days before it's supposed to arrive.

In all fairness the stock was clearly stated. AT&T's web site clearly listed 10/16 and Apple clearly stated 9/25. Anyone who had a choice between AT&T and Apple should have gone to Apple if they were in a rush. A lot of people on two year contracts didn't have that choice though, so I agree it sucks that they may not get the phone on launch day. Apparently there is a limited supply of the AT&T 6s+ phones.

Has anyone's status on AT&T.com orders been changed to "Shipped"? I'm still on "Waiting to ship" or something along those lines.

I don't know of anyone that has a ship date listed earlier than 9/24, so we probably won't see them shipped before that date. I know it's tough with the other carriers shipping sooner, but we should still get them on Friday with a 9/24 ship date.

In all fairness every other year I could order from Apple, but AT&T now forces subsidy people to order from their website. Kind of between a rock and a hard place.

I don't expect to receive a shipped notification until Thursday since they ship via overnight express. The credit card I used has had a pending authorization for the full price of the phone since I preordered and paid in full.

Exact same here for 6S. "Preparing to Ship" --> Full charge of phone pending on credit card.. Ship 9/25..

Pretty much everyone, 6S, on the Verizon thread has tracking numbers now.. And about half 6S+ pre orders with tracking numbers for launch day too.. Must be nice to be on Verizon.
