In all fairness every other year I could order from Apple, but AT&T now forces subsidy people to order from their website. Kind of between a rock and a hard place.
I agree I don't like the new policy. If you don't get your phone this Friday I would definitely recommend calling AT&T to voice your displeasure and see what they are willing to offer (waived upgrade fee, account credit, etc.).
 
This is insane, do not follow this advice (not trying to be rude to gopre). If you honestly think you're going to get an AT&T phone from Best Buy quicker than ordering it directly from the carrier (AT&T), then you're in for a rude awakening on Friday. Especially if you pre-ordered early Saturday morning. It's nonsensical to think that a phone ordered over a week later from Best Buy would arrive any sooner.

I feel like a broken record here, but AT&T does this every. single. year. Since AT&T stock piles these phones in their own warehouse, they don't give you a tracking number until 1-2 business days before it's supposed to arrive.

I wasn't saying that At&t wont get it there. I still kept 2 pre-orders for other lines on my account through AT&T, I just canceled another that I had thru AT&T because best buy had that color for guaranteed in-store pickup on launch day. From what I was told by the best buy store manager, is that Best Buy is fulfilling the pre-orders from its in-store allotment of phones to those that pre-ordered for in-store pickup. That is why it is store specific as to what inventory is available for pickup on launch day.
 
Let's please stop saying it's EXACTLY like last year for + phones. It's NOT. We've found out a number of things confirmed different from last year.
1) 2yr contract only available from ATT site or app - forcing more + owners to ATT app/site this year.
2) a new special model A1647 that has LTE 30 Band that is the ONLY model that's being manufactured for ATT orders.
3) The A1647 6S+ model has had flash screen supply channel problems.. Making the production goals be unmet.

This is why ATT's site and app showed ship dates of mid October availability from the preorder night.

So though there still might be hope for you 6S+ folks - it's NOT AT ALL the exact same hope/chance from last year.. So let's just stop saying that nonsense. Get caught up and read a little people!

Interesting info, so this means anyone that orders ATT version has this different model? I ordered off Apple for my ATT next upgrade and have the 9/25 date.

BTW, anyone here got shipment label info for sending old phone back? Apple sent one last night.

Apple is selling ONLY the ATT model since it will work for any carrier. So Apple hogged all of them.

Oh snap. That's kinda douchey.

I knew there was a reason I avoided ATT,on the personal upgrade, though had to do it for corporate one. Although that is just a 6s and on 9/25 delivery via premier.
 
Exact same here for 6S. "Preparing to Ship" --> Full charge of phone pending on credit card.. Ship 9/25..

Pretty much everyone, 6S, on the Verizon thread has tracking numbers now.. And about half 6S+ pre orders with tracking numbers for launch day too.. Must be nice to be on Verizon.

when did your charge reappear on your credit card? mine fell off mid last week and hasn't been charged yet again. (i ordered a 6s rose gold pending with the same status as you)

I preordered two phones.

1. On the AT&T website at 3am for my mom. Rose Gold 16gb 6S. She has a ship date of 9/24
2. In the AT&T store for myself because I needed my manager friend to move my upgrade date up earlier. That was last Tuesday. 64gb rose gold 6S. Ship dates of September 29, 2015 - October 6, 2015

People who ordered via Apple.com are getting notifications that their phones are being shipped and are getting tracking numbers. I've seen some Apple.com customers say they are able to track their iPhones on UPS with their order numbers. Hoping the status' change for AT&t customer shortly so we can do the same.

Yeah I can find my Apple order with cell number and it's in support profile just this am. Nothing on ATT order.

On my att premier dashboard, all 6s except rose gold can be pre ordered now with expected ship of 9/25. Rose gold is Oct 5-12 for 128, Nov 2-9 for 64 and Oct 12-19 for 16. Plus models, earliest is Oct 19-26, rose gold has later and space grey later for 16GB and 128

not true I am a 6s and mine fell off this weekend, but still labeled as in process
I meant up to this weekend. If you all with 6S are having charge fall off today - then I'm sure it will happen to me too.

6S+ people were the only ones to experience that early last week.. per my reading

My charge never fell off. Ordered a 64 GB Space Gray 6S.

I promise I'll only post this once a day or so, but I'm guessing most people don't read through the 44 pages of this thread. AT&T orders are scheduled to ship 9/24 and that's when they will ship. They won't ship 9/21 or 9/22 and you won't get tracking information 3 days before the device ships. Other carriers are providing tracking all the way back to China. AT&T is not. Your device is scheduled to ship 9/24 and no update will be provided before then, regardless of what people on other carriers are seeing.

It would be cool if we could track them from China though. We could always live vicariously through the other posts until we get our tracking information lol.
 
I can confirm this watching the Verizon and Sprint threads. Some areas of the country Verizon and Sprint are using UPS and other areas they're using FedEx - but in 90% of the cases on those other carriers - people of both phone sizes (mostly 6S) have their tracking numbers today.

This has not happened to even ONE ATT order.. And won't until Wed or Thu at earliest. So don't wait and wonder about tracking your phone from China. Not gonna happen for ATT order folks.
 
I just find it funny how people say they will leave AT&T just because they didn't get their phone on time.
I love having my apple products on launch day, but come on a few days won't kill you. I rather get my phone late and stay with AT&T as their coverage and reliability exceeds Sprint and T-Mobile in South Florida. What good if having a new iPhone is your service sucks?

I know a few CSR people who work for AT&T and they don't know anything. They say every year its the same thing, people calling asking for shipping info, and they can only see what we see.

Point is... The 6S+ will not come in mid to late October. Apple will ship these phones nonstop and just like last year the shipping dates will move up. Im optimistic most of you will get it by the end of September, if not early October and if you're really lucky on launch day (or launch weekend).
