Just went in the at&t store this morning and pre-ordered. They said it'd be delivered on launch day.

Edit: forgot to mention this was for the 64gb silver
 
I bought AppleCare+ with my 6s but it was $99. Hopefully that will still work with my 6s since the price was supposed to be $129.
 
Ordering at AT&T was the only way to get a 2-year contract and a discounted phone.

Ordering from Apple meant having to do the Next plan and giving up the phone at the end.

To heck with that! In my case my husband always gets my old phone and I upgrade to a new one. So he's thrilled to be getting my 6-Plus 64 gig from last year, for FREE.

I think all the 6s Plus orders will get moved up. I submitted around 3:12AM EDT and also had an October 16 ship date. Got another email about an hour later that the credit card couldn't be processed. Called my bank to clear things up. Called AT&T in the morning and spent over 2 hours on the phone. The rep had to put my order in again, which really worried me, since my order wasn't resubmitted until 9:46AM EDT but now my order status says Sept 24.

I used the 2yrs option....did anyone who used that get a 25th delivery date?

I was able to order via the myAT&T app around 2:57 and received a 9/24 ship date and second confirmation email confirming my iPhone would arrive on 9/25. 64GB Space Gray 6S.

Ordered AT&T via Apple Store app no issues. Anyone know why order total is $44 when all it says is $15 upgrade fee?

You pay tax on the phone full price up front and then the monthly installments are tax/interest free.

Everything went smoothly for me. Preordered at 2:51am ET, got my preorder confirmation email at 2:56am, and got my order confirmation at 3:08am with a September 25 delivery date.

Got a text from USAA at 8:30am wanting me to verify suspicious activity on my card wasn't fraud. Glad I wasn't the only one...

I wish Chase would follow USAA's lead, as Chase cancelled my order because they thought it was fraudulent. So, I had to go back into the AT&T site and that ordered processed at 3:30AM EST. I will have to reference USAA's approach when I chew out Chase on Monday.

I got in early as well. I ordered early successfully with ship date of Sep 24, but now it says back ordered when I check the status on the site. Ship date hasn't changed though.

"Back ordered" is normal for AT&T almost right up until they ship it. If I remember correctly, when you call the number and it changes from 'back ordered' to 'processing', you'll get a confirmation within 24 hours or so that it's shipped.

Ordered my 128GB RG 6S+ at 12:05am MST through the AT&T app. The app and the order process was flawless, no issues at all. Expected delivery is the week of Oct 16. I don't mind if I get the phone within a week of launch day.

Because AT&T likes to be stupid (remember, they're the only ones that let you use an Apple Sim in the iPad Air 2 but require it to be locked to them thereafter - defeating half the point of having the multi-carrier sim.).

On the flip side, the T-Mobile and ATT one are identical, so should be fine.

Not this year. AT&T is Model A1633, which adds support for the LTE Band 30 that AT&T is deploying. T-Mobile is A1638, which lacks Band 30, but adds CDMA. For immediate use, they probably don't make a difference, but they each have pros and cons down the road if you ever want to switch carriers or for resale value.

This happened to me last year for the iPhone 6 Plus. I think I had to enable an option under account settings for my account. Now I get an email or text message from Chase when I need to verify potential fraud charges.
