This might be a silly question but here goes anyway. For all of you that ordered from AT& T and are now going to Best Buy or Apple to get your phones, are you giving up your 2 year contract price and switching to Next to get your phone on launch day?
The only reason I ordered from AT&T was to keep my 2 year contract. As we all know buying the phone anywhere else won't allow you to do that.

Why? Not one person in that store has anything to do with how many phones they'll have or the advertising that got you to reserve one. You'll be making lifelong enemies out a lot of people for the unendurable offense of not having any control over the situation.

Dont post online that I will be able to pick it up in store on Friday September 25 and they wouldn't have a problem if I don't get it. If you don't know how many you are getting than don't say I can have it release day before prior notice..Am I correct? Did AT&T tell you that you would have the phone on release day? No...and you are all mad...so yes I would be making enemies regardless. I called 2 reps today and they also told me I will get it on friday september 25, so with that said I would have 2 best buy workers who also lied to me..

I've explained this clearly several times.

Here we go again:
Apple Stores only have A1634s... which works on all Carriers. Apple stores have hogged them all.. Allocated maybe 1 million to ATT (though they have 3 million preorders to fill).. And then sent A1687s to Verizon & Sprint.

Backlight problems with bigger screen A1634s - so ATT gets short end of stick..

2 questions:

How do you know what apple is allocating where? I can't get anything but "Preparing to ship" and you somehow have logistics on how many phones Apple has assembled and where they are going.

2nd, wouldn't the backlight issue affect all the Plus model phones and not just the LTE band 30 units? If that's the case then the screen shortage could potentially affect all carriers the same depending on how many of which handset Apple makes.

I'd like to think that if Apple is hoarding the LTE band 30 handsets for sale through them then we might have a good chance that they are producing more of those than the other.

Sorry for the cam shot. I didn't want to do a screen shot with my personal info. I ordered a 6 and a 6 plus

Well have a look here then and prepare yourself for battle with all the wrong foes...

Looking at my order, if the phone is not backordered, it is not out of stock, it is actually being prepared for shipping, but it can't ship until 10/16 the earliest, then where the heck are these phones? :)

All I have to say is don't false advertise on your website that I will be able to receive it in store on September 25 if in fact you have no idea if I can or not...
Honestly how is this making me a bad person? Don't do something if you have no idea if you can fulfill it.

So just chatted with AT&T and tried a different approach. Said I needed to know when I would be charged to make sure I had funds available with some upcoming bills. After some time this is what I was told:

Another thing, when I called yesterday, the automated machine was asking me to activate my "new phone" with them. I have to assume they meant my 6S because I have no other phones ordered. Has this happened to anyone else that has tried to call last night or today?

I see what you're saying and you're right, but the people in the brick-and-mortar Best Buy stores have absolutely nothing to do with the people that make decisions about what dates are listed on the website. They're just there to get a paycheck, from the person on the floor to the management in the back room. Raise hell with corporate all you want, but don't make those poor employees have a worse day than you are.

I looked through my emails and was able to locate the emails with the tracking numbers for every new iPhone since 2010. The tracking info always arrived on the Wednesday prior to launch. Three hours to go! ;)

Oh I meant I will be calling up to Best Buy not actually doing it to them in the middle of the store..May not have speculated. All I am saying is don't tell me/promise me something if its not going to happen

I've answered all these questions before.

I'll reanswer only 1.. You make the faulty assumption that apple production facilities allocated the good backlight screens EVENLY between all models. They likely didn't - and that would explain the discrepancy. Speculation - I grant you.. But explains what we're seeing. The model number differences are not speculation. That's fact.

Yes has happened to me every time I called since ordering

Yes but if you head into your local store and start yelling the place up, it'll all be for no reason because the people you'll be yelling at have no control over how many phones they get and none of them created the advertising that got you to pre-order with them is all I'm saying. You'll be wasting your time and ruining the morning of a few innocent bystanders.
I'm confused as to why you're in such a hurry to give money and patronage to a business that you already suspect has lied to you and is committing false advertising.
Let them be. Look for your phone on Friday but when you show up, have a smile on your face, tell someone they look sharp and great today and you might just get lucky. Go in scowling like a thundercloud and angry that you were lied to and this is false advertising anger anger ANGER anger and they'll look you right in the face and tell you there are no phones and no we're not getting any more this week, but hey lemme get my manager so you can hammer him for a while.
