I never received a text about being upgraded to unlimited minutes, but I can also see that it's unlimited now on the AT&T website in the rate plan area. Usage still looks like I'm over my 700 allotted minutes and dipping into my Rollover, so I wonder what it will look like when the Rollover is used up.

I was curious about some people being upgraded to unlimited text. I have a 200 text plan on my line, but the other 3 lines have texts blocked so they don't accidentally receive unwanted texts at 20 cents a piece. I removed the block on one of the lines, and it looks like that line automatically has unlimited texts now! I'll wait for a billing cycle just to see if it sticks, and if it does, I'll take the gamble and remove my 200 text plan to see if I get unlimited too.

Update: Actually, it looks like the texts are being charged at 20 cents each. It took a few hours to show up.
I just dropped unlimited family 20 dollars plan, system awitched me to pay per use. It took 1 hour on the phone to get 20 dollars plan back. :)

Maybe they will give us all unlimited minutes and unlimited texts, and then just jack up the UDP 20$ a month more (like verizon just did for legacy customers)?
On the one hand I feel the same. Thanks God I signed 2-year contracts on my 3 lines. Now if Att changes something it means I be off contract.
When Att drop your contract, they usually don't allow you to upgrade, but you can open dump phone 9.99 extra line and swap upgrade, close the line later, since it is off contract.

On the other hand Att is not in the same bad shape as VZW now and they don't want to loose customers to t-mobile.

That was brave, since $20 is a special retention price.

I don't know how certain accounts get selected for free unlimited text. Maybe you have to be on pay per use on all the lines for a while. I have a feeling all of these changes are happening so AT&T can simply their servers and stop tracking usage.

I remember reading something in a thread recently about ATT having a cheaper unlimited text package available ($10 instead of $30 I think it was ? ). Anyone got the info on this ?

I'm a brave guy :))) I feel the same, it is an expensive toy to track minutes, texts. I think they loose more than get from texts.

I have this package,
$30 300minutes month
$30 unlimited data
$10 unlimited text.

I just called retention, asked for it. 30 seconds later had $10 text plan

10 dollars is for pesonal line. 20 for family plan. You can still get it, call retetion and you get it. if not, just call again. Att is very flexible with customers. That's why I like Att. T-mo is opposite, people say, that they have best CS. May be, but I haven't been able to get even a penny from them.

For some reason I think that is what they will do. I hope not because my bill is 131.00 for my Unlimited Talk 69.99, UDP 30.00 and Unlimited Text 20.00 plus the taxes.

No my contract has me locked in at $90 (40 Talk, 30 Data, 20 Text) a month but even when it's time for me to renew, I don't think things will change anyway..

Thanks guys.

No one is sure. I think it has stopped for now. I never got one and there are a few people who missed on it as well.
When I look online it is confusing. When I go to my plan, it says unlimited minutes under the plan details, but still shows me having roll-over etc.

That's the part that is so freaking confusing. My fear is that folks will go over the limit and AT&T will claim this as a "WebSite Issue". What happens if you dial *646#?

I called retention the other day and asked about this specifically and she said unlimited talk was a real offer made to long time customers on certain plans (meaning it's not an error or glitch) and that it should switch over to displaying properly on the next billing cycle. She made a note on the account and added if I start getting charged for overages to just call in and they'll resolve it.

I Called to try and get the $20 unlimited text....was told there is only the $30.

Has anyone received unlimited talk and messaging with the 200 Senior plan?
You don't get it under 450
I talked to a lady on phone and I asked what and how people are getting

1. Text charges removed
2. Unlimited minutes

She said it started back in June where the system picked people on older plans and also using non smart phones for most part. iPhones etc according to her and the promotion she was reading the stipulations for was basically for the dumber phones that aren't sending thousands of text etc.

She was apart of advanced technical support, was on phone because my microcell won't recognize my address and such. Very informative and the way she read off the criteria a and how it was done made sense.

Now I'm sure some people have iPhones since this is macrumoues and such and have gotten it. That's what she told me the system goes through and picks

I have been wondering about this, too. I am currently on the Senior Nation 200 plan and my contract expires next week. I am eligible for an upgrade (currently have a 5S) but haven't done it yet. When I go to MyAT&T and click on "view plan details" and then on the "change plan" button, I am offered a plan for Unlimited minutes, Unlimited text, and 2GB data for $70. My current plan also has 2GB data and costs $54.99. I can't tell if the new plan is a contract plan, or if not whether the price includes the BYOD discount.

Are you being offered anything like this?

No. This is for a buddy of mine and he is only being offered the nationwide 450 mins option. But he also has unlimited data.

I called the other day got $5 a month for 200 texts, which is perfect cause all my people have iPhone so my texts are rare

Lol I already have the $5 200 text on 3 of my UDP's. Was hoping to get the unlimited family for $20

I just went to check my text and talk usage and says its temporary unavailable for talk. The text section says there is no text associated plan with this account but I had $5 200 text plan so I hope when they update the site it means I will have unlimited talk and text. Fingers crossed
