I called. I have a premier account. I was told tha it was not possible to change the plan because the 550 doesn't exists anymore. I have 3 lines.
You don't have to call anybody, just change it on you computer or AT&T apps, you are grandfather and can change anytime between 550 700 1400 or 2100 family plans.

I just read through the rest of the thread and see now.. I never knew. Good stuff. Now I need to confirm if they updated my Nationwide 450 call minutes to unlimited. If they did, I'm golden.

*Update*
The updates take effect for all of the grandfathered plans effective the first day of the current billing cycle. Awesome... Unlimited Minutes!!

Not all the grandfathered plans. I've been told only certain plans. And I can attest to this, since my brother's family plan got the upgrade, but I did not.

What do see on "plans features" drop-down online? Do you see unlimited minutes there or your accurate plan minutes?

Hey Bud... Is your used minutes allotment going down as you are using the minutes? I see the same my plan features but I still show X out of 550 mins used....
Yes it does show my allotment (plan minutes + roll over) going down with usage. So it does look confusing.

I haven't ever really used all the minutes in a month, so I don't know if unlimited minutes really helps people who don't use up all the minutes.

Now only if ATT would tack on unlimited text, that would be a nice gesture to loyal customers.

It does show unlimited, it's shown that for a long time now. At least 2 or 3 billing cycles (probably more) Anyways, but when I check minutes, it still has my normal 450. I do know others with 450 minute plans have gotten upgraded. So I really don't know what qualifies someone to get it or not.

My plan consists of 1 line with 450 minutes talk, unlimited data, and I didn't have a text plan, I had pay per use, which was like 25 cents per message.

What state and county are you in? When I call retentions, no one has heard of people getting upgraded to free calling /texting.

That's awesome, OP. But seriously, but rollover minutes being so prevalent in plans these days, and with texting being the primary method of contact pretty much, not a lot of companies care about minutes. Nor should consumers.

I'm showing unlimited anytime on mine, but the social media rep says that means I can talk as much as I want, but it doesn't mean I won't be charged for it. Currently on the 1400 minute plan. I received an overage charge because I went over my rollover minutes.

This isn't a retentions thing. They don't have access to it from what I gather. Though I'm positive they're wrong for not having heard of it.

I also got the unlimited minutes and text messaging message today. I never had a text plan, I payed per use. The minutes I really don't care about, I have over 4,000 rolled over already, but the unlimited text is very nice. This is my plan "Family Talk nation 550 with rollover" also grandfathered unlimited data.

How long have you been with AT&T and how many lines do you have?

I've been with AT&T wireless for nearly 26 years and I haven't received the offer yet!!

1000 min, 200 txts, UDP 65$ a month before FAN/Premier 18% discount..

where's my unlimited minutes!

Wow! I have been with AT&T for 14 years and
I thought that was a long time. I have not received the offer yet or text message from AT&T. I wonder what AT&T is looking or is it just random that they are giving select people this offer?

And here I thought being with AT&T when they were Cingular in 2005 was being an old-timer! Gotta love the loyalty.

I didn't receive an offer either but I called and they said you didn't have to do anything, it's an automatic update in your account effect the beginning the current billing cycle. Mine was in September.

My current billing was September as well hopefully for the next billing cycle. I do see unlimited minutes on the rate plan and features section but it's still counting my minutes. I have the 200 text plan for $5 dollars but no sign of unlimited text yet. I guess we all have to wait and see what happens.

I never received a text about being upgraded to unlimited minutes, but I can also see that it's unlimited now on the AT&T website in the rate plan area. Usage still looks like I'm over my 700 allotted minutes and dipping into my Rollover, so I wonder what it will look like when the Rollover is used up.

I was curious about some people being upgraded to unlimited text. I have a 200 text plan on my line, but the other 3 lines have texts blocked so they don't accidentally receive unwanted texts at 20 cents a piece. I removed the block on one of the lines, and it looks like that line automatically has unlimited texts now! I'll wait for a billing cycle just to see if it sticks, and if it does, I'll take the gamble and remove my 200 text plan to see if I get unlimited too.

Update: Actually, it looks like the texts are being charged at 20 cents each. It took a few hours to show up.

No text for me either. Looking at usage it still show only 550 minutes, but if I go under plan details it shows unlimited. Not that it really matters since I have about 5,500 rollover. My billing cycle just started today also.

Maybe they will give us all unlimited minutes and unlimited texts, and then just jack up the UDP 20$ a month more (like verizon just did for legacy customers)?

For some reason I think that is what they will do. I hope not because my bill is 131.00 for my Unlimited Talk 69.99, UDP 30.00 and Unlimited Text 20.00 plus the taxes.
